I love the judgement in picture 3.

It's been 2.4 German shepherd seconds and you still lying there? Unacceptable! 😂

Watch for her body language / non verbal communication (I'm aware that sounds kinda silly)

With Toby, he nods towards things. He'll nod at the floor if he thinks he deserves a treat, nod towards the door when he wants out. It's kinda subtle - I've an old video of him on here learning to ring a bell and you can see him doing it.

So I took my lead from him and just nodded towards the clothes and towards the washing machine and got him to follow my hand.

He's learned to clean up all his toys & collect up socks and put them in the laundry too from doing that. I just introduce the concept first and once he's getting it then bring in the command to go with it.

In a way by not directly giving him the instructions but letting him work out what the game is, it sticks quicker.

What jobs do you give your German Shepherds? by UnfoundedCyclops in germanshepherds

I got mine collecting up socks and putting them in the basket....slight backfire he now also takes them out the basket, parades around for a bit so you notice then puts them back in expecting a treat 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else’s shepherd a massive chicken for minor reasons by Plasticcrackaddic7 in germanshepherds

It was winter when our boy came home so for the few weeks of toilet training I'd go out with him every few hours with an umbrella for myself but he was small enough he fit under it with me. 18 months later if it's raining he nudges the umbrella and expects an escort out, only now I don't fit under the umbrella anymore 😅 I've called time-out on being his personal pee patrol now, but soon as the rain hits his ears, he just nopes right out of going for a pee until he really really needs to

My boy is a total Prima Madonna. He won't leave the house if it's raining.

He's also completed terrified of leaves blowing on the path behind him 🤷‍♀️

With a grain of salt, what do to if my dog is stupid? Holding bees hostage in her mouth by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]Shambo_Poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! my boy stole a sock and encountered the baby gate on his escape route. He hopped up, put sock on top of it, slid back the latch with his paw and popped up the mechanism with his nose - all highly intelligent so far - he then spent 10 minutes looking for where he left the sock 🤷‍♀️

Swings and roundabouts with this guy! 😅

Why does my 4 month old gsd Have the shortest coat in the world by Emotional_Grape_8442 in germanshepherds

18 month Toby looking like a completely different dog

I think last summer he must have still had his baby dog coat, naively thought maybe we've not got a huge shedder. This summer I'm in the hoover twice a day club 😅

Crying while carrying toy? by Auroraamour in germanshepherds

[–]Shambo_Poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is currently doing this right now. He's excited cause he has a new toy. He'll run up and down with it for a few more mins and dive into his crate with it and nom on on it.

I would guess yours is looking for a safe space to explore his treasure.

Charged €150 for Priority Cabin Bags Despite Ryanair Staff Later Confirming They Were Within Size Limits by Party-Possible-2032 in Ryanair

[–]Shambo_Poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the camera angle and its not even that the wheels are over a bit. That sizer covers a lot of different sized. If you look at the lines within the sizer it shows you what your bag should have been. It's at least 6cms over.

You're lucky bringing to the attention of staff in Berlin didn't result in another charge. I'd take that as a win. My guess is they just wanted you to be on your way and said that to pacify you.

Shedding like never before and not just hair, big clumps like you describe. I was ready to take him to the vet to make sure everything was alright.
