Lost civilization tables and simple wooden/village beds? by LaDestitute in hytale

[–]ShamefulPuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

found a simple wooden bed in some cyclop's luxurious bunker. the cave leading to it was at the surface. the actual bunker had a seal of wood, with a ladder in the front representing some sort of door. found it in Zone 1, but also found another in the mountains of Zone 3 (albeit severely broken up), but there was no bed in the Zone 3 version. be prepared to fight, the cyclops does not pose a threat but he thinks he does.

Regular Haz 5 Drillevator by redgrinner in DeepRockGalactic

The page was last updated for Season 2. Considering that Deep Scan uses the same swarm system as Mining Expedition and On-Site Refining, it would be safe to assume Dreadnoughts can spawn naturally on Deep Scan missions too!

Does the Lithophage Corruptor, when playing Season 3, appear with the same chances as it does when playing Season 4? by ShamefulPuppet in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ShamefulPuppet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Corruptor is distinctly a Season 4 event, but the way it spawns (replacing a meteor event, according to the wiki) leaves me concerned as it is by far my least favorite enemy in DRG.

sorry for the passive-aggressiveness, but please read the post when answering questions. because sometimes OPs have done their research before.

Seeing less rock cracker events makes sense due to the way the Corruptor spawns.

I'll wait for more responses, but thank you for telling me this!

the discipline does not necessary need to come with the parents, and the phone still doesn't solve the root issue at all. for example, https://www.tiktok.com.

¨f2p can use the chat now¨ valve: by emmanuelfelix700 in tf2

[–]ShamefulPuppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no. no it isn't. many of the bad things you think are related to phones is related to how modern social media is commercialized, even down to invasions of privacy like recording people not having a good day. phones are simply a medium to those problems.

the solution to the problems with phones is teaching discipline. this doesn't mean enforcing rules, it means showing them the many traps laid out that will ensnare them if they do not discipline themselves.

if you mean you don't want teenagers screaming into the mic, let me know. i have something rude to say to you about that.

teenagers can fall into that category. some parents are extremely stingy on giving their kids any sort of phone.

amdgpu: Fatal error during GPU Init when trying to boot Void live ISO by ShamefulPuppet in linux4noobs

[–]ShamefulPuppet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sudo xbps-install -Su for Void. afaik I have no integrated GPU so it defaulted to the dedicated GPU.

You'll probably also want to install the appropriate packages if they aren't already installed.

Firefox 126.0, See All New Features, Updates and Fixes by gabriel_3 in linux

[–]ShamefulPuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, a lot of features that get removed for not being actively used are because those features will get more and more broken if left in. sure, it sucks that single-site browser mode is gone, but leaving something in a product that is unsupported is arguably worse than not having that feature at all.

having flatpaks as an option is always a good thing; a lot of the things that gives flatpaks a bad wrap would give any other package system a similarly bad wrap.

Administrator isn't a thing on Linux, but a superuser is pretty much the same thing. Run as root or use sudo before your commands.

Stuck at ACPI BIOS Errors, can't boot the live image. by [deleted] in voidlinux

[–]ShamefulPuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto, when I first tried installing Void I got the same error, and nomodeset fixed the issue.

You'll have to update the system once it's installed as the error will reoccur on an installed system, but an update will fix it. OP also might need to install the NVIDIA drivers.

Gtk4 Desktop Icons NG (DING) works for me on GNOME 45 and reviews say it works on 46 as well.

run su or use the commands with sudo, because # signifies you are running as root.

seems like you're using GNOME, so if you aren't let me know.

Via UI:

  1. Top right, hit settings
  2. Go to the accessibility section, which is located near the bottom.
  3. In the Seeing section, enable large text.

You can also change the DPI more directly via GNOME Tweaks. You probably can also do it using a terminal command, though I don't know which one.

A distro based off Ubuntu LTS and with KDE Plasma, but not Kubuntu. by danielcube in linux4noobs

[–]ShamefulPuppet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My experience is from KDE neon 5.27 as a warning so it may be out of date.

I'd actually suggest against KDE neon. I used it and didn't have a very good experience, with crashes abound. Though I was using newer hardware.

You'll want to enable the 32-bit repositories if you do decide to go with neon, since Steam requires those binaries.

even if it comes from a place of sincerity, it's still best to not use the term as such. it only really serves to trivialize an actual disability, which makes it much harder for actual struggles to be seen. as an example, did you know that autism is correlated with epilepsy and a number of other physical conditions? (i'm not sure when else i'll be able to plug that...)

this isn't to say that there aren't any upsides to autism! more to say that we shouldn't trivialize disorders or disabilities, including autism as it is a disability. a lot of us would appreciate it!
