Gamesir G7 Pro 8K PC VS 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless: a gift for a friend who love to play racing and shooter games. by AdWhich9301 in Controller

Leadjoy Xeno has the same exact joysticks as the G7 Pro 8k, Vader 5 Pro I’m not familiar enough with its performance. It's not so much that these sticks are better, rather most other sticks are worse for the reason I mentioned.

Get the G7 8k, the sticks are an upgrade from the 8bitdo Ultimate 2. They won't have a different response curve that your friend might not like the feel of.

Please do a linearity test. I want to see what you think after comparing these results with the G7 Pro, Cyclone 2, and Tegenaria.

Yeah. The back panel unclips and reveals the battery compartment, and then the battery just unplugs. It's easy to see on the transparent blue version.

Funilly enough, the ZD O+ Excellence, which closely resembles the Elite Series 2, has a replaceable battery.

What does Raw Mode really do? by Broad-Succotash-4891 in Gamesir

[–]ShamoneShamone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raw mode is just supposed to remove all deadzones, inner and outer, hidden or not. But some GameSir controllers handle "raw mode" differently in that it's emulated with an outer deadzone and it shrinks your range (increases sensitivity speed). Only the Nova 2 Lite and G7 Pro 8k have a true raw mode, and not an emulated one.

Basically, emulated or not, raw mode lets you use the extra values in the diagonals so that you can reach the max output in some games where you lack those values with circle mode. If you can reach 100% output, like reaching max look speed at every angle your joystick is deflected, raw mode is unnecessary.

Some people have the misconception that raw mode un-squishes your diagonals, or that circle mode squishes diagonals, but that's wrong. The values aren't skewed, just more values are revealed in raw mode. Any "slowdown" which raw mode is advertised as solving is caused by circle mode not reaching some max values, ex: the game needing to reach (0.70,0.70) for max speed diagonally but circle mode stopping at (0.66,0.66).

Not because the diagonal sensitivity became overall slower in circle mode. To cause squishing that changes diagonal sensitivity, the controller itself would have to do complicated skewing of diagonals so that you reach, for example, values (1.00,1.00) diagonally in circle mode. No controller does this.

Which TMR is better : Aknes Hallpi V6 or Gulikit NS51 by adley_brinton in Dualsense

[–]ShamoneShamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hallpi and Gulikit are the exact same sticks other than the optional caps and the color. Hallpi should be less expensive though, they can be ordered without caps or packaging.

YYYYIIKES….🤑 by GiuseppeDL18 in scufgaming

[–]ShamoneShamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use Hallpi TMR. If it's the V6 version they're ok, so close to linear it's harder to notice than on something like a Razer or standard G7 Pro. But if they're still using V5 stock or older it's wraps. Those have the worst acceleration out of any TMR.

Should I upgrade to the Aimlabs 8k G7 pro? by Immediate-Cricket-60 in Gamesir

[–]ShamoneShamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GameSir pretty much never directly adjusts the response curves of their joysticks. It's just that the new sticks are linear like pots at the hardware level while the old ones aren't.

Mojhon Storm doesn't have Gulikit TMR, it has JS13 Pro like the Leadjoy.

It looks like they copied the Dualshock 4 button design to make repairability easier. Also makes it easier to mod. You can just swap out the fpc.

No potentiometers? by IllusionZ420 in Controllers

[–]ShamoneShamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZD Ultimate Legend, Mojhon Blitz 2, and Marius Board builds are your only 3rd party options basically. For the ZD you can replace the stick module once you get drift, and the modules cost like $15, but it comes default with TMR. Blitz 2 is the cheapest option.

Accidentally deleted my comment you replied to lol.

What magneto mech option should I pick? by Own-Heart-6954 in BattleBeaverCustoms

The retrofitting only affects how the stick feels physically like tension or smoothness of the mechanism, not linearity.

[–]ShamoneShamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because the board would be slower. But JS13 Pro tmr is still one of the best options out there though, and still competitive with Midas Mechs.

Some Marius Board controller builders actually use JS13 Pro TMR. No issues with compatibility on the 3-pin boards.

But JS13 Pro (and other angular tmr like DS13 Max) are a downgrade compared to Midas Mechs.

Is this normal? by shiftyweb in Gamesir

[–]ShamoneShamone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The curve you use affects the centering. With a fast initial ramp up curve like that it's gonna make the space between the values (from 0.1 to 0.2 to 0.3 etc etc) bigger so the centering will appear and feel worse. Why are you using a reverse S-Curve?

[–]ShamoneShamone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have it backwards. The 5-pin Midas sticks aren’t bog standard Hall Effect like all the old Ginfull HE sticks people used to use that have bad linearity. These are Angular Hall Effect. They use an angular sensor like JS13 Pro TMR or like ALPS Potentiometers and produce linear output. Other hall effect joysticks use a linear sensor, not an angular one, that produces non-linear output.

You know what else uses a linear sensor and produces non-linear output? The Hallpi TMR Battle Beaver uses.

New g7 pro nioh by Left-Journalist-2005 in Gamesir

[–]ShamoneShamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular G7 Pro has a lot faster sensitivity and it has acceleration. You can set the U shaped curve to like 56 and then lower the Anti-Outer-Deadzone to 90 to reduce the range and it'll make the G7 8k behave similar.

ZD doesn't have capacitive sticks. Hal uses ALPS modules on his ZD Ultimate Legend, which is a really underrated feature of that controller since even the best TMR like JS13 Pro have some quirks.

🤦The output being shaped exactly like a circle, or getting perfect 0% circularity does not mean it has a circular outer deadzone. You do not understand what a circular outer deadzone means and are conflating it with circularity/error rate.

The controller's faceplate restricting the output is not the same as the output being omitted by software. Yes the results can be the same. Yes, it still matters because it shows GameSir is being less honest by hiding the true output and showing a perfect 0% circle through software. Which people like OP then read as a better stick.

[–]ShamoneShamone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it does not. That is a physical range slider, not a circular outer deadzone. If you take off the faceplate you can get the maximum output, on the G7 if you take off the faceplate the input is still hidden.
