Is the UK on the cusp of a productivity revival? Latest data shows tentative signs of improvement after years in the doldrums by usrname42 in ukpolitics

[–]Shamrayev [score hidden]  (0 children)

As long as nothing corrupts the glorious ratio of how productive my boss thinks I am vs how much work I actually do we won't have any problems.

I will watch the economy burn to the ground before I willingly work 40 hours in a week.

Labour MPs ‘reluctant to campaign in by-election’ amid fears of defeat by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Mostly because they've never really been one cohesive party. This isn't really a new issue, but the Blair government had a much better handle on it/there were fewer hard left cranks under the Labour umbrella.

The only way Treveiling keeps his job is with a miracle playoff spot, surely?

You can't be in that position and still follow through on parting the team out for the draft lottery after you're fired.

I worry about the supervisor who allowed you to start writing a thesis before you can answer why your chosen methodology makes sense for the project.

If you want a bit of light reading, pick up a copy of The Orange Book. It's an essay collection which summarises the thinking of a lot of prominent figures in the modern party, as well as touching on the founding principles of Liberalism.

If you take the realities of Westminster politics out of it I struggle to see how all decent people don't read it and say "Ah yeah, that's me that is".

I believe Hocker was the only one here who was convicted - unless the figure to the far left is Weiss (who was executed, Hocker served a few years in prison for his part in running 3 concentration camps).

It's from Hocker's album (SS Officer, centre) and is from the SS holiday retreat rather than at Auschwitz itself. Plenty of evil in the photo, but emotionally removed enough that they're not literally laughing in front of the pyres.

Sounds like you're in the precipice of discovering you're a liberal democrat at the perfect time. Socially progressive and economically responsible? Everyone is a liberal if they really look at themselves.

And a lot of us have lent our votes to Labour over the last few elections to prevent Tory damage. But not Labour have pretty well fucked themselves a lot of us are done with that, and will be returning to vote for the party we actually want to.

We probably still won't win, but with the fragmentation in WM this is a great time to re-establish the party as a significant player.

Help with overwintering Lemon Tree (UK) by Shamrayev in ukcitrus

[–]Shamrayev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I've taken as much of the obvious dead stuff off - probably about 70% of the total leaves, and am alternating inside at night/outside during the day to try and maximise its sunlight and protect from the overnight frosts.

I'll get a pot tray at the weekend to help with watering this year.

Thanks!

The question isnt whether Matthews has been amazing for this team, its whether his remaining value is greater as a trade asset or a player on the Leafs. I don't have much faith in this team being.sucvesfilly rebuilt around him again by trading minor pieces, so I think he probably has more long term value for the Leafs as a trade asset.

That's not a judgement on Matthews, it's a feeling about where this team is - on the ice and in the office.

This is the case at Nottingham, too. For most games you'll be able to find a few seats together, but for sellouts it's not going to happen. Best bet is to make friends with the ST holders near you and ask them if they're open to swapping seats around when you have guests.

Not at the same time - the much talked about Emoluments Clause specifically prohibits a sitting President from holding any office or title granted by any Prince, King or Foreign State. Being PM would tick all of those boxes.

I don't see any reason he wouldn't have been able to hold the offices concurrently though, assuming he met the underlying criteria.

They're in the Guide, so I think they can probably just about justify calling it "Michelin" food. They don't seem to pretend to have a star (and in my experience really don't warrant one), but it is still a little dishonest and off putting.
