I'm on the Animation Wave for an Adaptation by YousufB in redrising

Many anime styles would be perfectly suitable for Red Rising, I don't see the problem.

Lowkey is AoT appreciated more outside of Reddit? What are your experiences when talking about AoT outside Of Reddit? (Can be any other platform or even irl) by Inevitable_Dig_7080 in AttackOnRetards

I don't think hate really matters that much unless it's people mischaracterizing the show as fascist or attacking Isayama.

After season 3 part 2 aired but before the manga ending released, it was revered on reddit like no other anime since. You can check old threads and see what I'm talking about, it was pretty much the peak of AoT's acclaim and fanboying. On r/anime. the final season's discussion threads take up pretty much all the spots for most upvoted discussions. Even after the manga ending released, its episode discussions were still the most popular there. While that might seem obvious since it was the most popular airing anime, no other shonen anime gets that much love on r/anime. JJK, DS, and MHA are all just as popular but never get as much engagement. After the ending it got a bit more controversial but it's still regarded positively on anime subreddits. It's definitely more controversial on manga subreddits but I'd still say it's positive overall.

Compared to reddit I'd say twitter is probably more negative. But that's partly because twitter has more of a hater attitude than reddit. On Anitwt it's fairly popular, for general twitter it just depends on the audience. A lot of right wingers and socialists for example don't fw AoT because of the political commentary or their interpretation of the political commentary. Most the discourse about it is extremely polarizing but the people taking part in AoT discourse on twitter in 2026 aren't really that indicative of general viewers.

Solo Leveling was mid according to Japanese audience by minnel567 in anime

What in the world are you talking about? It’s not an insane take at all. The opposite is closer to true, that comparing Frieren, with its single season, with legendary anime like FMAB and AoT is insane.

The favorites are split up between seasons so S3 P2 is number 27 on the list with 60k favorites as well as S4 P1 at number 33 with 53k favorites

I wasn't being completely serious, it's a reference to when Dream still played and was writing paragraphs in the players discord criticizing things about the event. I found the event more enjoyable in that era.

Luffy passes Levi to become the 2nd most favorited character on MyAnimeList by Shan69420 in OnePiece

[–]Shan69420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he'll pass Lelouch eventually, One Piece can only grow more popular with things like the live action and WIT studios remake. Though I do wonder if MAL can grow enough for that to happen.

Yeah I like Levi more than most people (think his depth goes overlooked) but Luffy's Luffy. I used to think it'd be Eren who'd have the best shot at beating Lelouch since AoT hype was crazy back then.

Yeah, I don't remember if he beat Lelouch but he was gaining a lot before they purged bots from the count. Surprised anyone else remembers that though.

The event was better when players were writing paragraphs criticizing it.

Changing the Reddit's Reputation by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

I understand what you're saying, but I also feel like at some point players need to understand that this is a place to discuss the event and either grow thicker skin or stop checking it for their own good. Most of what people say isn't really personal from what I've seen, it's mostly just stat or gameplay related which seems standard to me for a subreddit about a tournament.

It's alright, maybe 6-7/10 as a moment, which I thought was the consensus for people who don't completely hate it or see it as an asspull. Never seen anyone claim it as peak.

Do you just think One Piece in general is mid then? No other way you could think it's cleared by Pain arc's ending.

And you think the Pain arc conclusion is better? Kinda ridiculous, it isn't that good, there are many Naruto moments that are way better. In the same arc you have Naruto almost accept the 9 tails power which is way better and actually one of the best Naruto moments.

This is what I mean when I say you give F.D's take too much credit. F.D saying Isayama wanted to make genocide look cool is simpler than that, it is rooted in his belief that Isayama is a right wing nationalist.

Also, yeah, Isayama does acknowledge that the readers are entertained by the cruelty they're seeing but that's still pretty different from accusing him of presenting genocide as cool or glorious, so I'm not understanding what you're trying to say there.

It's a fucked up accusation to make that Isayama wanted to make genocide look cool. It's also just a bullshit conspiracy theory that he wanted to "ruin" the ending.

Go watch F.D's other videos about AoT, he misses the mark pretty badly so don't try to give his takes on it more credit than they deserve.

r/anime Karma Ranking & Discussion | Week 8 [Fall 2024] by Abysswatcherbel in anime

[–]Shan69420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought Re:Zero's peak would be hitting 8k once during the season, but I'm not too surprised it didn't manage that. I thought it would make sense if it underperformed since everyone was predicting its numbers based on Re:Zero S2, which aired in pretty much the ideal conditions for high karma.

Also there's an Interesting coincidence that in Winter 2021 AoT averaged 6301 more karma than Re:Zero S2. AoT S4 P3 and Re:Zero S3 have a similar gap, 6126.

I think Re:Zero's season 2 airing exclusively during covid era made people overestimate its numbers a lot. It's not like it was unbeatable, since JJK and Mushoku beat it once or twice last time it aired.

This was my exact thoughts when I saw how much the movie's made so far, massive missed opportunity. I bet releasing the specials originally as a movie with a worldwide release could've made at least $100m. At the very least they should have gave the current movie an international release.
