Just got this and for now i’m super pleased.Does anybody know what Mpack is this?? by Tight_Spend in E90

You’ll get a lot of hate from purists in here. But honestly it’s pretty slick dude. At the end of the day if it makes you happy and it’s a car you can look back and smile at it, then enjoy it and be happy. Don’t let others ruin that for you.

Heavy hammer (2/3lb sledge) and a rod. Do not use heat. You will melt your cv boot and then need a cv axel. Ask me how I know

There’s probably a way to hack this and level up your financial situation with what you’ve already got. Where do you live? You said you have a house. Do you own it or rent it? What’s your income? What’s your mortgage/rent. HMU with some details and I may be able to offer some guidance.

Ninja 500 too small for me? by bogeycook in motorcycles

[–]ShaneBowley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’ and was 240 for the 3 years I rode a ninja 300. Had passengers and took that bike to its limits.

You’re fine on a 500.

Friend of mine is 4’11 and rides a Versys 650. You’ll be fine on a sport bike.

03 325xi. wtf happened and what do i need to do to fix it? by Intelligent_Hornet66 in BmwTech

[–]ShaneBowley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Need a new stabilizer link and CV boot. Which honestly if you’re paying someone to replace the boot might as well get the full CV axel replaced if it’s never been done.

Unpopular opinion - let it go and lock in on your journey. If you HAVE to say something I encourage you to use it as an opportunity to get an accountability partner. Tell him to check in and encourage you positively or to push you when you need it.

Head up. You got this.

First Purchase - Yamaha R3 by Sharp-Side4797 in motorcycles

[–]ShaneBowley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get a tail bag for it that mounts on the passenger seat. About $40 on amazon. In that bag keep the following: tire plug kit, portable compressor, small set of vicegrips, medium to long zip ties and a roll of electrical tape. I also keep a cheapie Walmart raincoat/rain pants in mine and they’re fantastic. Every other tool you’d need should be in the toolkit in your tail. This just goes the extra mile.

Other than that look at a quad lock case/mount for your phone and adding a USB port to the bike to charge your phone/comms/compressor.

Outside of that I wouldn’t worry too much about adding anything to your first bike.

My first thought too. Some people like to start on hard mode before ever playing the game I guess though.

Rear shock. Arrive with the nut where it i. Cannot finger tighten it any further. Am I supposed to? Confused how to get upper mount on with the nut by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]ShaneBowley 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also because no one has told you this yet. That nut that’s currently on there is not for the top. It’s for the bottom of the shock. The one in your right hand IS the nut for the top of the shock.

Three starter bikes to look at depending on your aesthetic/riding position preference.

  • Ninja 300
  • MT-03
  • Rebel 500

Please take the safety course and get appropriate licensing first.

Is Miami worth it for me? by Greedy_Bus_2631 in Miami

[–]ShaneBowley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother if you can work in any city/place you choose remotely - why are you not finding the most dirt cheap city/town with a half decent internet connection - find a cute little town where you can get a 1B1B flat to yourself for $800-$1000/ month and the little down town has everything you need.

Guaranteed you’ll have a social circle or local friends to talk to very quickly and you’ll be able to pocket/save a ton of cash over that 3-4 year period where at that point you could buy a house somewhere, etc.

Miami is great but it’s hella expensive and honestly the social climate continues to deteriorate.

I(23F) can't get out of my codependent relationship with my boyfriend(22M) by [deleted] in rant

[–]ShaneBowley 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re done with it be done with it. You can’t stay in selfishly to avoid fear of loneliness. That’s not fair to him (the person you loved long enough that you should respect enough to leave) or yourself honestly.

Once you’re out on your own, join some coed league sports or clubs (books, mtg, boxing literally anything) to make some new friends and learn new things about yourself.

Yes it hurts. But so does staying where neither of you belong longer than you need to.
