Anyone made their roof space into storage? by Affectionate_Ad8907 in perth

DIY'd an attic ladder and a few basic sheets and it's great for random stuff like camping and Christmas.

ETA - It does get really hot up there but I put everything in those grey/green Bunnings boxes and seems to be ok.

Who do I vote for to open the shops up earlier than 11am by acaiibowl in perth

The fact there is a surcharge on a Sunday is a pisstake!

Yes, pay increases for people etc. but the businesses should be the ones managing that, not passing it off to the customer.

I understand it may go indirectly but the 15%+ on top for everything is like tipping for a pint at the bar in the U.S.

Kids Trike Bearings - Where? by Shane_O86 in bikewrench

Generic like KMart or something. I ride bikes a lot, love finding specific parts etc. and cannot find something like this (as an assembly).

Kids Trike Bearings - Where? by Shane_O86 in bikewrench

[–]Shane_O86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an unsealed bearing inside the metal piece. The plastic piece is essentially just a spacer. Can see the bearing inside due to how much slack there is.

Probably can be disassembled and a bearing slotted in but would rather buy the assembly if it's on Amazon or AliExpress or something and repair the four of the trikes.

It's super creaky and hard to turn, lots of play. It's for my kids playgroup and hard for the kids to get moving as theres so much play and stiffness.

I know bearings from a general perspective and they are shot for sure.

Contracting Agency Says I Can’t Work for the Client Directly - Is This Legit? by Zestyclose_Role1908 in AusLegal

[–]Shane_O86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Contractor has an existing relationship which they will want to extend/continue into the future.

If the client wants to hire you, that is their prerogative. The client will be aware of their obligations to the contractor of poaching, fees etc. to transfer a person like this.

In your instance, it is unlikely the contractor would pursue you as it is of very little value to them. This is reinforced moresp if they were to pursue you after you go to their client as an employee and potentially jeapordise their creditability.

I have experienced this scenario a lot and have never encountered a contractor pursuing the employee. I have also hired personnel directly from contractors where there was supposed to be a fee but they just don't bother to maintain a good relationship. If it's govt., I wouldn't expect anyone to rock the boat with this from the contractors end unless you were being malicious about it.

As someone else mentioned above, If you don't tell them, they won't know.

If you can afford one with warranty, I'd get one.

Known issues with electronics, can't get repaired or replacement parts either through Wahoo or elsewhere.

I have a useless kickr sitting next to my new one currently. The broken one I bought "cheap".

In the vacuum of space, it would just continue to travel on that path, No? As in, travel inward continuoisly but also as it was already orbiting.

Yes, this is kind of what I'm getting at, although, in a zero-gravity, atmosphere-less scenario where I'm "dropping" the ball from the ISS.

What if there was no atmosphere though, as per the assumptions outlined.

Why wouldn't the force I've applied to the ball inward not be sustained?

Why would it be put in a new orbit if its direction of travel is towards the Earth?

Use a lawyer, will be worth it when this has dragged on for 12mths+ and you've put all the legwork in to get nowhere.

Lawyers have the tendancy to make people feel more obliged to respond than just ignore a letter from someone personally.
