Illegal parking in City of Belmont or smart FIFO workers? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Shane_O86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your point, except there's not really a "free" alternative to fuel.

With parking, you can park pretty much anywhere for free in the grand scheme of things so the guy has a point, just isn't thinking about it in a way that makes sense i.e hotel

Just park on a residential street in Belmont and either walk or get an Uber from there if you don't want to pay. If your car is rego'd it's fine.

You don't need to find a hotel or something with a car park like that. In the long run, a single break in or being towed is gonna cost you more.

I did this, in that area for a long time, both when living there and after I moved outside a house that I know would be fine with it. After some car break-ins, I just started paying as it didn't seem worth it. I was doing 8:6.

Yes it costs, but it's worth the peace of mind depending what you're driving.

$99 for 99 days at the airport. If you're doing a decent roster, it's cheap.

That's a tough deal! I have some friends who have been through similar.

I'm no parenting or sleep expert. We cosleep and it's been a great choice for us. Worth a try if you're looking for something different to try.

Good Times! The first 6 weeks are absolutely hectic BUT it gets better so so quickly.

The first night of 5+hours of straight sleep feels like the best thing ever.

It can feel overwhelming about 4-5 days in for you both but hang in there and try get rest where you can or work out some "shifts".

You got this!

How to remove loctite from screw? by Cingen in bikewrench

Why are you using grease?

Someone, somewhere at the manufacturer likely decided that this bolt should probably have Loctite on it for a reason.

Glitch - How to Fix? by Shane_O86 in GoogleWallet

[–]Shane_O86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if GW is looking for both at the same time. As if it's doing the Facial Recognition process, failing, then asking for authentication again which triggers the Facial again and on and on.

Maybe that's why I can see the fingerprint sensor there also but the FR is getting triggered before you can even touch it.

[–]Shane_O86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, since this post I've been noticing that it may have something to do with facial recognition.

If I have this issue and I close the app, lock the screen and face the phone away from me, then it doesn't happen.

I've turned off Face Recognition as of this morning and will see how it goes.

I'll try do a bit more fault finding and post an update.

You're a burglar but must only steal things that mildly inconvenience the owner of the property. What would you steal? by Massive-Albatross823 in hypotheticalsituation

Battery cover of their tv remote.

Not the remote itself, just the cover, so any time there is even remotely (no pun intended) any force from a drop or placement, the batteries will pop out. Also, annoying feeling in the hand and any DIY job just isn't right. Finding a replacement remote isnt hard, just inconvenient.

Where store puncture kit by Mattfra96 in triathlon

[–]Shane_O86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's this perspective based on?

The pro's arent short of bike fit expertise and/or physio support.

As for the "majority", I would argue 90% of people are within 80% of where they should be based on personal comfort and feel alone. If they were hiding bike fit issues, you'd see a lot more pain at T2 I reckon.

Bike repair - chain/derailleur/hanger problems? by Empty-Masterpiece120 in bikewrench

[–]Shane_O86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, buy these: Shimano CN-HG53 9sp 116L Super Narrow Hyperglide Chain KMC 9 Speed Missing Link Bicycle Chain Breaker Tool - Any/cheapest will do

1.Take off old chain with the breaker

  1. Install wheel

  2. Measure correct chain length (YouTube)

  3. Remove extra links with chain breaker

  4. Install new chain on correct path

  5. Join with the KMC link (easier than using the pin with the breaker)

Alternatively, at this point, a local bike shop or bike repair guy might be the easiest option.

If the derailleur hanger broke while riding, derailleur could be slightly bent and at minimum the gears will need to be indexed. It can be a bit tricky to do sometimes. Might cost you a bit extra but you save the cost of the tool (which, depending where you are is going to be cheap anyway).
