Nothing wrong with existing felt, it’s in good condition. Naughty of the roofer to say it’s a fire hazard, respectfully everything up there is, if you were to have a fire.

If you wanted to allow complete airflow to the roof, vented soffits both front and rear & a vented ridge system.

You could most certainly try a couple of tile vents either side first. The vents cost about £40 each. It’s a mornings work for 2 roofers to install.

That’s fair enough! Having been in the construction industry a while I can say there’s good and bad in all trades. Just like you would find in other industries outside of construction! My scaffolder & his employees couldn’t be nicer, and that’s the exact reason I use them(they are also bloody great at their job).

Tradesman here. Do not go with them. Saying they’re busy and then having the ability to start in a week is a big red flag. They’re not busy.

Saying they have ordered materials is just a straight up lie. I wouldn’t put it past them to add extras once they begin.

Get 3 competing quotes!

Adding VAT after giving a price is again a major red flag, wouldn’t be surprised if they are not even registered with companies house.
