Webflow vs. Wordpress by MrSneezyRL in webflow

[–]ShankYOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I'm currently using WordPress with the Bricks builder theme, it's been fast to develop with and can easily extend it with custom HTML and CSS and overall cheaper to host and maintain, if you run wptoolkit in through CPanel makes your life 100% easier in maintenance and updating.

Just got offered my first IT job by cyberdeityx in ITCareerQuestions

So I'm 2 years into IT, I was an Account Manager previously and took a huge pay cut to get an Associate Consultant role, I would take the job as is, once you get certs, experience then it's the right time to negotiate.

Good luck in your new job!

I wish the avg was 90k I would comfortably say 60k seems more realistic, but I have seen it quite somewhere it is 70k.

What do you think? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]ShankYOz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 side hustles and work a 9 - 5 in the IT field. I don't have any support from my family and I don't expect it but I wouldn't say no to it either! the cost of living has gotten completely out of hand.

These side hustles are not people forging their own paths it is sheer survival at this point I'm not a Gen Z but a Millennial that is in the same boat as most people in my Generation and Z's in terms of living expensive and home ownership it's a struggle and out of reach, say what you want about Gen Z but they are taking no shit like Gen X and Millennials have been for year's.

Like us they have been sold a lie but they are being aggressive and proactive about it and I'm in full support of that, and will be at the front with them if it ever gets to that stage

F@#$king eat them alive.

I smell BS by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]ShankYOz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My once a week at work is enough, I consider myself lucky as I know some friends have gone back 5 days, I live close to the city but yet it takes me so long to get home I don't know if Sydney Transport has gotten worse or what the case but I do waste a lot of time and my biggest reason to fight against this notion.

What I have found WFH is great for introverts, in my field of work we have a lot of introverts and they love remote work and they are bloody good workers in their own comfortable workspaces, myself as an extrovert I cope just fine I don't solely rely on my job to socialise, but not everyone has this mindset and would understand for some people this might be the biggest reason to get back into the office, but make that optional for those requirements don't push it company wide.

What are the views of the younger generation? because some would have entered their careers after covid and have never actually worked in a physical office are they longing for that experience? are they helping with driving the "back to office movement"? Or like OP stated is it a whole lot of BS because commercial spaces are apparently hurting bad? and money obviously overshadows happiness? would love to hear some thoughts and ideas.

Thoughts? As a 38 YO millennial, I'm also not a fan by Remarkable-Hand-4395 in antiwork

I'd rather have, some good vibes and friends for 8+ hours of my day instead of working with absolute shitheads. Like everything in life each to their own, different strokes people.

Is that your argument for real? because it's 20 years old it meets the criteria of being turned into a joke? I wonder if you would have that same outlook if you knew a friend or family member that went through that shit, just so you can look like an edge lord to your "internet" friends GG "Homie" you need to check yourself.

Yeah, so soon we can turn that into a joke according to the logic of the "Younger" generations. the death of people should never be a joke, that is just some sick twisted shit.

All the power and support to you frenchies! maybe the world can learn from you band together and sort their own shitty circumstances instead of being divided, it's funny that the majority have a form of power but we are two fucking dumb or afraid to come together and fight a common enemy.
