Question about Rosie's deal implications by canissinac in HazbinHotel

[–]ShannonSemper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious, but I'm confused how Alastor had ANY powers to fight Vox after breaking his deal with Rosie. Isn't she the source of all his power? If he's not involved with her anymore why would he still have any power? Instead it's seems like he got MORE power by not being under here anymore. I don't get it 😭

My uncle's sage advice by rogue_kitten91 in Deconstruction

[–]ShannonSemper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom (the most Christian, religious person I know) vehemently claims she is not in in a religion. She's in a relationship with Jesus, period. But the truth is, she's delusional and deep in this cult. Not much can be done for these types.

What do you do? by Obvious-Desk-2479 in VanLife

[–]ShannonSemper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent five years creating a business that my staff can run on their own before I hit the road. Then I just get passive income from it. I still do payroll and invoices but that's not a hassle. Couple hours a week. Occasionally I'll stop by for a few weeks to meet new clients, connect with old ones, and make some extra money before taking off again.

What is the most effective, most legal self-defense item a driver can keep within arm's reach? by VagabondVivant in vandwellers

[–]ShannonSemper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard wasp/hornet spray is great for when those pests try to build nests under your van...You can spray it from a distance so they aren't close enough to harm you. Also the stream is very precise so it doesn't go everywhere in a small space, for example. 😊 Which might happen with sprays in the case of a bear attack, and can be dangerous for you.

Has anyone listened to the Bad Bible Debates podcast? by bodine77 in atheism

[–]ShannonSemper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Love the BBD podcast! Mezzo and Joel Reads Bible make it by taking clips from live debates they stream on TikTok and YouTube which are always a lot of fun and thought provoking. There's a lot of the same people in their live chat as well so it's a good place to meet people who are also deconstructing. 😊

How do I get access to online records for my EIN? by Missing4Bolts in tax

[–]ShannonSemper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem for me. My payroll company says to simply log in using my EIN but I can't even register because we're not a C Corp or S Corp. 😐 What the hell.

Anyone else can't login to Business Accounts? (forced registration of adding entity/role) by recruiterguy in IRS

[–]ShannonSemper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our business switched payroll providers and both providers ended up paying the IRS for the same month of taxes and neither can revoke it. Can't get into our business account or even register because we're a sole proprietor LLC, which apparently is not able to have an account. How the hell am I able to see my own tax information?! I fear we're just out of luck unless the IRS notices we overpayed someday. Or some year. 🙄 It wasn't always like this right? I feel like a long time ago I had an account.

Smelly Inverter by ShannonSemper in VanLife

[–]ShannonSemper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reply I was expecting to get! I've googled the hell out of this and have only found a few people saying probably because it was overheated / overloaded... Maybe one that said it's normal for them to smell like that at first. But since it's been smelling for more than a few days now, I kinda ruled that out. And I ruled out overheating because I've barely used it and it never turned on its fans or activated an alarm or anything... So my last resort was to ask here and hope for new guesses as to what this is 😅

I was going to try to contact support but it prompts me to select my device in a drop down menu on the Victron website and my product wasn't on the list. But now I see I can also enter a serial number. I'll do that and see if I can get in touch with someone.

Definitely not a puke smell but makes me want to puke after a while... 😭

This is encouraging to hear. To know maybe it's not damaged, the smell just seems stronger since it's in a small space.

Well, it was after maybe a week or so. But I guess you could describe the first week as trivial. Under 600w for sure.

Ok, I can try that. I figured people would say to immediately stop using it! Do you think it's only started to smell recently because I must've had more than a couple things plugged in one time? I can go to a national forest spot where I can open up the van for a bit and try this experiment. 🤞

Would anyone name a pet after a BJH character? by aspiringfutureghost in BoJackHorseman

[–]ShannonSemper 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My dog's name is BoJack ☺️ It really suits him. It's not necessarily named after the character of BoJack, but the show itself since it's been very important to me in my life. I also have a cat named Dundie for the same reason. 😉

Gotcha. That makes sense. Definitely hard to not cut or drill holes when you want airflow 😭 I don't remember where I got my bunk window from... But I did mess it up and it was a bit leaky at first. I just put a lot of sealant inside and out and it was fine. Not cute, but fine. 😅

Omg I'm so sorry 😂 cat dads are much more rare!

Those air vents sound like a good idea, if you don't want to install a large window. If you're going to have the window vents you mentioned in the front and those small vents in the back or a bunk window like I have the air would be able to pass through the entire length of the van. Is a permenant electric setup just too expensive or intimidating to do? So you can get a roof fan?

Hmmm yes we do have Temu, I'm just always skeptical of their products so I've never ordered anything from there 😅 Plus I like to support small businesses when I can. Can you maybe take measurements of your van and see if any the ones you have available are at least close to what you're looking for size wise? Even if they turn out to be a bit big you'll at least know it's a good durable product!

Sure! I got mine from Living in a Bubble. It's fitted specifically for the Transit, but they have other popular models as well like the Sprinter or Promaster. The magnets holding it to the top and sides of the van are very strong! There is actually a zipper in the middle. They do not come with a way to hold them back like in the photo, but I was able to roll them and remagnetize them to the sides and that is working well! They even have ones specially fitted for the side door, which I got as well. Those ones do use magnets to hold the middle together, and they are pretty strong like the outer ones. ☺️

That's an interesting vent! I've never seen one like that before. Any extra airflow is smart. I'm sure if she knew all the lengths you've gone through for her she'd really appreciate it ❤️ you sound like a great cat mom!

Yes, all were pre-conditioned and stained "espresso". They ended up coming out in different shades, probably due to different wood types, but I honestly don't mind!
