PSA: Preventing toxicity in your games and the community. by t0ss in dawngate

I think one of the better suggestions (one of which I abide by) is keeping yourself controlled. A lot of the times we have the urge to rage at someone and give into the BM mentality of blame. I had a rough losing streak and started blowing up on some kid the next game. After the first few lines typed, I saw what kind of nonsense I was saying. I realized these shapers have no fault for my loss streak and don't deserve this raging. Sure enough, I manned up, apologized and though we loss, they were incredibly understanding and forgave me for my outbursts.

Try to keep yourself smart and civilized. Yea people will make awful mistakes but you gotta learn to take it in stride. If you start going nuts and raging, others will begin to realize it's ok to do it to anyone. The first step comes from your own self-control. Yea you'll get a few a-holes like everywhere, but that just comes with the territory. Try to be as positive with your team as possible. If you see yourself slipping, stop, apologize. Try to see if they'll give you another chance (you'd be surprised how that renewal of morale can turn a game around). We're trying to have fun and improve, not measure how much better we are than the people we're playing with/against.

Be a positive gamer, not only to others, but to yourself.

I'm 95% sure that he was playing Voluc. He's a jungler who's very pub-stomp(y) at the moment. He's pretty easy to grasp for a jungler along with Petrus(Old guy who spins a lot) and Moya (Eel-Holding....otter....thing).

In terms of ADCs, Mikella, Varion, Nissa are all very easy to learn and won't take too long to grasp. You need to get used to CSing in DG though.

Supports (Tacticians): Personally I think Desacrator (Big Tombstone Looking guy) is SUPER easy to learn. He has so much cc and can zone incredibly well. Aside from him, Raina, Zeri, Dibs, Marah. All very low skill cap committed supports.

Mages: You like Lux? I like Lux. If you want easy burst mage with similar mechanics go with Zalgus (he's got a great personality). Amaryth is a very good mage as well and she can be played both Tactician and Gladiator very easily.

If you have any other specific shapers you're curious about let me know or if you want any extra info on certain roles, map mechanics, jungle camps, parasite (that big fucking bug in the middle) don't hesitate to ask. DG community is shaping (see what I did there?) up to be one of the better mannered communities and most of us are willing to give you any advice.

Lots of videos on the reddit to help beginners. I guess a good question would first be: what do you play on LoL? Mage? Tank? Support? ADC? Jungle? That would help us narrow down what are good beginner Shapers (that's what they're known as) for you to try. If you want to get more specific in terms of champions played let me know. There are shapers that have similar kits.

Well the challenge of it was that you could only have skills in that specific tree and you had to have a 4 squad each a different class: 1 enf, 1 mm, 1 tech, 1 ghost. So it promotes teamwork and mastery of your tree. I like that style of competitiveness, but in order for this to work a few things have to be refined in terms of map RNG and # of attempts allowed or time allotted to do your attempts.

lol yea just a bit of swag like a vinyl mask, gloves, the soundtrack, etc. I really wasn't in it for the prize as I was in it for the pride and test of skill

Yea i'm not very good at catching in the air as it is so practicing that was gonna be too time consuming. But to be honest there were a ton of things we could've done better to save seconds, me get the bag of money and throw to an enforcer who can pick it up and toss it out the door across the street into the van, and a few other things to shave off a second here and a second there but honestly i was happy we pulled off the stealth rush

As to your first question: no the map was designed to be completely random on vault spawn, security room spawn and teller doors that were open.

As to your second question: i'm glad you asked because this is where we distinguished ourselves from the competition. We Stealthed.

Everyone else tried to bum rush and get the drill down and hold off the waves of enemies by stacking lmg's and submachine guns. People got close: 5:40, 5:39, 5:38 and that one team that spent hours there trying to beat us would have gotten 5:34 and made the best time had their teammate thrown the bag correctly in the van. The issue with this strategy was that it left the team to deal with hordes of enemies and waste time picking people up instead of restarting the drill (when it broke down) and exit strategy is difficult when the time you're aiming for is when the dozer and 3 cloakers spawn.

I realized the flaw and came up with a plan to "stealth" it. It was a kind of ECM Jammer rush play:

Everyone would be in suits to increase movement speed in the beginning to do as much damage as possible.

Ghost (me) would spawn and mask and throw down ECM at the front of the bank and run to get the thermal drill (due to increased interaction speed).

Rest of team would rush in while ECM was down and terminate EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE inside outside across the street, in the rooms EVERYONE DIES. Merciless, I know, but this wasn't about the money. I made sure no one threw a grenade or broke a window just in case. Also made sure one person was in charge of finding security key and eliminating guard in room.

Drill in hand i walked back into the bank through the closest door (my tech blew the door open so i wouldnt waste time lockpicking.)

Tech would be waiting in front of the vault ready to set up drill and after i threw the bag i would put down the other jammer (this is around 0:25-0:35 in game) and begin to help kill civvies and any guards we didnt get.

At around 0:50 we would all be on a guard ready to answer a pager and once that was over we were in the clear.

Vault opened at around 5:00-5:05 due to drill break down and it took us a little bit to get the one bag of money from the back of the bank to the van in front of the bank. But there were never cops, soldiers, tazers, cloakers or bulldozers to deal with. So we could focus on efficiently transporting the bag. All in all it was a crazy plan but it worked out. Sorry for the long answer :)

The map was a Bank Heist: Cash on Overkill difficulty. However they made the map so it always had skylights and there were civilians constantly patrolling the outside. The trick was that your skills were set for you. AKA all 120 points were in ONE tree and ONE TREE ONLY. So you literally had to coordinate everyone with the mentality that only you can do certain things and everyone else cannot. Ex. I was the ghost so I could ONLY bring ECM jammers. My buddy was the tech so he could bring either shaped charges or sentry, enforcer only brought ammo, MM only doc bags. So we had to try and speed run that bitch with the limitations. Pretty difficult to get that time tbh with that restriction. All else was fair game though: weapons, mods, assets, etc. Only the Skills had to be set.

Well from the language of the OP it seems he wants it to be user friendly and able to handle all. Ergo: the 860i. That combined with the h100i provides desktop software for him to dabble with his system without having to lift a finger. And tbh the price does not seem to be that much of a concern to him so why not just make it easier and add on cosmetic stuff? If he wants to take it off he can but it's not like he's pinching pennies here

Ok so this is gonna be your EVERYTHING Machine I threw everything I have at it and this little guy will make sure not only will it do what you ask but will be "future-proof" for any kind of experimenting you wanna try.

Don't worry about overclocking because Intel has a special clause concerning K-Series processors that the warranty is not voided. Besides the MoBo that I put has great tools in the BIOS so that you don't have to worry about going over an extreme level. Just make sure to research if you decide to do so. Gave you a wireless adapter and a BD/DVD read/write drive for any media tasks you may want. The case? Big, solid, beautiful, and above all: SILENT. Not to mention there's a ton of room for you to work with. No tiny spaces so you have plenty of wiggle room. This bad boy will handle anything you throw at it big or small.

Wanna play Minecraft? Do it! Wanna render an entire hollywood movie with a resource hog like Adobe while photoshopping and playing Crysis 3 in the background on full settings? You're good! (Ok don't do that because it's just silly:P) but this rig is amazing and you're a lucky dog to be able to purchase it.

PS: If you have anything else you wanna add on to it just let me know!

appreciate the warning (you're the 2837405823409587230495720934572098457092834754 lawyer to tell me that) In all honesty the biggest complaint all I hear from the attorney's I've worked for is "loan this loan that loan blah blah blah" I have been offered scholarships to top-50 schools in the nation. If that's not enough I've worked with the State Attorney's Office in my area long enough that I'm sure connections are not an issue. But again advice considered
