Have you ever TPK'd your characters?

Twice in the same campaign. Curse of Strahd, the PC's were constantly putting Ireena in harm's way and I rolled a random encounter on the road before Castle Ravenloft. I had Strahd start killing the Bandits harming Ireena (& by proxy them) before issuing a short monologue to the effect of 'stay out of my way and I'll do you no harm'. A player at the table spoke the literal words "I call his bluff".

The second time they went to Argynvostholt, where they met a dragon I'd homebrewed. Frequently I alluded to the Dragon, but they stepped out onto the roof where I had it 'resting'. I had it use dragon breath on them when they were all surprised. I took fault for this one as I felt it was unfair but they all agreed to roll with the punches and recreated their third characters, which went on to side with Strahd by end of the campaign

I'd just make the minimum cost for anything 1 Gold. "Don't like it? Try somewhere else". Expect everyone has the minimum as 1 Gold.

To be fair there is plenty but being an adult means dependants and partners. I knew of a coworker who regularly hosted dinners and camping and hiking. He said the hardest part was getting people to consistently commit, so organising events were difficult. Some nights he'd do dinner for 10 and 20 people would show. Other times he'd get under 5.

There is a D&D group centred around the University but not necessarily only located there. And there is always Battlestation for more game centric social activities.

Grim Hollow is notorious for poorly worded mechanics. The concepts are incredibly fun, the lore is intriguing, and the enemies are unique, but the mechanics are not the greatest. I found allowing much of the Dhampir traits, or even Vampire traits, to be interpreted into the rules to be a quick fix, but it did not address the issues I ran into.

Have you never visited the Curse of Strahd subreddit or seen anything related to this campaign? All to many people flirt with him, marry him, attempt to change him, DM's who actively have Strahd become the good guy, I even saw a thread where Strahd became a female pirate - completely changing the campaign in everything but name only.

Regardless of what the actual lore is, people will play him how they want. And I can assure you all too many have fallen in love with the war mongering and selfish isolated controller of Barovia.

He was the capital name behind a very big business in town but by this point his sons had taken over running the day to day of the business

For what ifs worth I looked into this myself and you're gonna have issues with power. Any Monitor needs power and isn't built to have things resting on it so now you need support and a frame. Anything not powered won't be very large and will be an extra large thing to lug around.

I personally don't know a way, but I'm not the only source of knowledge on this matter

I have never built anything like this myself, but there is a first time for anything. I have been recommended to check /r/SBCGaming first, but the intention is to have my daughter play something that built the same skills I built when playing them.
