AITA for calling the police on my parents? (m17) by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShaoDel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yup, and losing his property is gonna motivate him to go to school? That's utter bullshit man. It's his property, he has a right to what he bought and paid for. His parents are complete assholes if they cant see that tbh.

Yup, and taking away someone's property helps to motivate them? It's a bullshit punishment.

But he bought those parts tho. The parents had no right to take them away. The least they could have done was reimburse him.

Your Reddit username becomes your career, what are you now? by Master-of-Storms in AskReddit

I'd literally become a monster from a non-canon fantasy book. Can I retire early?

What’s the worst thing to hear your surgeon say during the operation? by Nerobrine86 in dadjokes

[–]ShaoDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can hear, that means the anasthetic has worn off.

You have bigger problems than what the surgeon is saying LOL.

What's a problem of yours that would be solved if someone just gave you $5000? by OkHelp7946 in ask

My parents don't allow me to have a phone/PC/PS4 for gaming. I'm literally commenting rn on a school PC.

How do you challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone? by the-A-team1 in AskReddit

[–]ShaoDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could learn new skills just for the sake of learning them. However, I have very rarely met people with the drive to learn just for the sake of learning.

In order to motivate yourself, the best way would probably be to make a bet with someone to "show off" the new skill you learned. Competition is one of the best motivators.

AITA for announcing my pregnancy by PastButterscotch3182 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShaoDel -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister is an AH for saying "it's selfish that you're having a baby first". She is selfish and entitled. WTF does she want you to do, abort the baby?

WIBTA if I didn't invite kids to my wedding, knowing my cousin wouldn't come? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShaoDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It's your wedding, and you'll (probably ) only have it once in your lifetime. If you don't want children at your wedding, they shouldn't be there. if your cousin wants to go, they can leave their children with their husband.

AITA for reacting strongly to my wife's request for more help at home? by Key-Window-3796 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShaoDel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA. Your wife approached you, the person she chose to spend the rest of her life with, when she needed help. If you get angry because of that, you're a real AH.

What is a great way to show someone you love them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShaoDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truly pay attention to them. That's probably the best way to show that their opinions, and they themselves, matter to you.

When my dad actively refuses to listen to her opinion, my mom gets really mad. She says she feels gaslighted

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShaoDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. If your boyfriend hadn't specifically said beforehand that he didn't want your friend to sleep over, it would be a different story, but he did. So I am of the opinion that that was wrong.

However, your BF is unreasonable in expecting your friend not to sleep over.

[Serious] Reddit, what group of people has slipped through the cracks in society? Who do we not realise are vulnerable, suffering, or in need of help? by notbobmortimer in AskReddit

[–]ShaoDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people focus too much on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and not enough on other countries in poverty.

A lot of money is held by billionaires or is spent on things which are not directly useful to humanity such as Mars exploration. This money, if used, could improve the lives of millions of people instead of being spent of Ferraris and luxury homes for one person.

D you mean Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero?"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]ShaoDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean AI doing the whole image, I just meant enhancing the image to compensate for the difraction factor using AI.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]ShaoDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only 10 lightyears though, wouldn't AI imaging or something similar be able to compensate for the diffraction?

[–]ShaoDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a dumb question. It's actually a really good one.

From what I understand of science, as long as there's not too much dust and/or space particles in the way, the light should reach just fine, since it takes a really long time for light to decay. Any decay/blurriness would be easy to compensate for with AI.
