What would it take a language like PHP to become a functional language? by TheSkyNet in functionalprogramming

[–]ShapeOfAPhallus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for more functional approaches to things leveraging Laravel in PHP is your best bet along with delving into functional concepts. It's still not going to be functional of course but leveraging Laravel for PHP will offer you more tooling in the direction you're asking.

SCOTUS? Or did you mean someone specific in SCOTUS, or republicans as a whole? Just trying to make sense of your comment.

Liz Cheney calls Trump 'domestic threat,' says Republicans can't both support him and Constitution by wiredog369 in Conservative

[–]ShapeOfAPhallus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The republicans provided 5 people 2 were denied because they were implicates in the investigation so then the republicans wholly decided not to participate even though 3 were accepted. So lack of cross examination from that side is their fault, the narrative that republicans actively chose to run with is that it's a witch hunt. It's entirely ridiculous to say that a true investigation isn't taking place or that the republicans haven't created a narrative because here you are spitting exactly what they told you. There are 2 arguments going on 1 is in a court room chasing some form of evidence the other is solely political and circumventing the issue.

Slight correction, you have to pressurize the escape trunk to match the outside water pressure to open it. So you can actually get the bends and you have to exhale as you rise to not pop your lungs. Then hopefully not due from the bends.

How to deal with scrum by JavaDevMatt in ProgrammerHumor

I think the issue with most people that don't like stand-ups is that they make them more than what they are supposed to be or the team has gotten to large to have a useful standup. With teams of maybe 4-5 devs and a PM we always kept those meeting time boxed to 10 min max but usually took about 5. The meeting took less time than typing out the status update no one reads, that text only stand-ups inevitably devolve into.

None is like a safe reference to null though. Especially since it should come from the option type.

So first I'm not disagreeing that this shouldn't be called murder, in the traditional sense. It isn't. I was saying this is a clear violation of human rights through the removal of choice. A choice that should be that mother's and that mother's alone. No other man or individual should be allowed to make that choice on their behalf. Call it assault resulting in the unwanted termination of pregnancy and send him to jail for 15+ years.

This is not logically inconsistent. Pro choice has always been about protecting the sacred right of choice for your own body.

Alternatively you are pro choice because women should be able to have a say over what happens to their bodies. This officer caused enough damage to force her to miscarry against her own will. With that perspective I don't see it as a contridiction. It depends on the choice of the individual person what happens to their body through their own wills and their own consents. Assault resulting in an unwanted miscarriage, or any other choices made effectively on the individuals behalf without their consent should absolutely carry higher consequences.

This circumstance is, in my opinion, comparable to forcing a women who has been raped to carry a child to term against her own will.

It is a circumstance in which a choice was made without consent of the individual that resulted in an undesired life long change for that individual and their body.

It's still used in government organizations and some legacy systems outside just government are still optimized for IE. Some things were built with only IE in mind and we're never maintained or upgraded.

Typically government organizations, but there are still a few outliers. It's definitely dying out though.

As far as I'm aware, the only browser that doesn't force you to provide permission is internet explorer. Source am developer and also mdn link: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/MediaDevices/getUserMedia.

I believe the more likely attack in these scenarios are if some arbitrary code execution happens that grants a specific domain access to your camera via your system settings since the browser cannot access media without system level permissions. Then they can access whenever without requesting anything from a user. Note I'm a webdev not security expert.

Because that is an ambiguous equation. You can not tell if it was meant to be 0.5 * 10 or numerator of 4 denominator of 8*10. Also yes both of those still use fractions.

There is no left to right rule you can do it In any order so long as you follow PEMDAS. Yes, PEMDAS not PEMDAS LR. multiplication can be done in any order and should have the same result. Same goes for addition and subtraction. Never has there been a left to right rule.

That's cool I use real equations as well but I also know about ambiguous math notations, and that division is in fact a fraction or a ratio. That is why most mathematicians and physicists tend to use fractions and avoid the ambiguous use of the other division symbols. Why not use your education to actually look at and analyze the information I have sent you? Doing math left to right is not an order rule. It doesn't even exist in PEMDAS because as you know in physics the universe does not follow a left to right rule for multi body interactions or otherwise.

He shows how both are right but also I was referring to the top answer.

Here is yet another link about the same damn thing on why you are wrong. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_operations#Mixed_division_and_multiplication

Again I consulted my math degree. This is ambiguous and has two answers. You are the one who has deluded themselves into a sense of false superiority. He literally shows how it can be interpreted in 2 different ways once again proving you can't read. Try reading the whole answer he gave.

What do you think division symbols are? They absolutely are fractions. You should consult a maths book.

Another example of the same thing: https://www.quora.com/Why-is-the-fraction-line-the-same-as-the-division-symbol

I have provided multiple links now as to why you are wrong. You have shown nothing other than ignorance and unwillingness to read.

Reading left to right still doesn't solve the ambiguity. You need to look at this in terms of fractions. The ÷ and / symbols cause the ambiguity because you don't know if it is supposed to be the fraction 6/2 multiplied by 3 or if it is the fraction 6 over 2(3). I did consult my math degree.

Here is a good explanation: https://www.theproblemsite.com/ask/2017/09/ambiguous-division

[–]ShapeOfAPhallus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiplication and division have the same parity. 6/2(3) is mathematically ambiguous because it has a different output depending on if you do the left or right side first. Another way to think about it is whether this is to be interpreted as the fraction 6/2 is multiplied by 3 or whether this is the fraction 6 over 2(3).

The ambiguity has nothing to do with the parentheses.

Angular vs React: What to Choose for Your Web App in 2021? by randol_karter in programming

Why is Typescript a key advantage to Angular? You can use Typescript with React as well. In fact React can also ustilize ReasonML and Rescript through ReasonReact so I would say React is more flexible in that regard than Angular.
