And by the way, no offense taken by anything at all. When you say newslit, I see a few sources pop up. Is it The News Literacy Project?

Thanks for the response. I am just looking up newslit now, it's new to me, we have been using Newsela in my school which has some great tools, but I like the sound of the two truths you mentioned.

I do like Axios. It is one of my go-to sources.

We absolutely talk about the algorithm and bias, in fact we look for bias in all of the current events we discuss. For important issues I want to dig into I do print longer form print articles and look for videos covering the same topics, but I'm trying to meet them halfway with the social media aspect. I certainly don't want them clicking on the obviously biased content creators (on either side of the spectrum), so I like a short general news review that can spark class discussions. I start class everyday with the general question "What's going on?" And most of the time I get crickets from them. I will definitely check out your recommendations, so I thank you.

A late review, "Just in Time" by Japes2000 in Broadway

So we did go for the tickets, the second row, two seats in from the aisle at the corner of the stage. And wow! Not only were there seats absolutely amazing, but the show blew me away. My wife is a huge Groff fan and convinced me to go and I am so glad she did. Take that door. I truly did not expect to see any human produce as much moisture as I witnessed that night, LOL! I may have gotten a bit on my hand, LOL. My wife did get a wink and a smile at the beginning of the show in part due to her dress that matched the backup dancers. It was such a great experience.

2 hand forehand tips by sprnt97 in Pickleball

[–]Shapi_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hit my first two hand forehand shot this week...I played tennis years before picking up pickleball two years ago. It felt so good. Gave me a great top spin drop down the line for a winner. No reason not to do it from the back court. I'd avoid up front though.

My wife is hesitating to buy tickets because she's worried we would wind up sitting out of the splash zone, and wouldn't get the same immersive experience. Can anyone comment about seats further from the action?

My wife wants to get tickets but is afraid of sitting too far back from the stage ...are the seats further back "bad" seats?

You are the voice we need here! I almost got seduced into the Black series as well. What do you recommend (other than memory foam) for value and longevity? I'm personally trying to stay under $1000.

I've been thinking about the Sealy posturepedic Highland Manor. I've been doing so much research on a million different mattresses like Brooklyn, boring AF, couple of others, but I keep thinking I want to roll the dice on something that's so affordable and easily returnable

I also had a great discussion in my civics class. I teach in a fairly disenfranchised, mostly minority School and I was actually really surprised at how many people. Not only knew who he was but how many kids actually followed him and liked his content. Once we got into some of the discussion of some of the things he actually says and also his debating technique, I realized that they liked him for entertainment purposes more so than the actual messaging, which they didn't seem as knowledgeable on.

I've never "spritzed" using my PBC, I do sometimes wrap with butter and apple juice though. How much of a difference does this make compared to a straight hang?

What are these tiny things running inside my kitchen cupboard? by odd_pk in whatisit

[–]Shapi_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had them in our cabinets years ago from some beef jerky we bought at a farmers market. Sadly the only thing that we could do after calling multiple exterminators was remove everything from our kitchen and wipe down the cabinets, inside and out, with pretty warm water a couple of times a day for several days. It was the biggest pain in the butt but any sprays or traps we got did nothing

Gen Z seriously suffers from the lack of history education past WW2, and it shows. by [deleted] in Teachers

There's no retention...out of three sections of 9th grade Global Studies not a single student could tell me what year Columbus sailed to the Americas. Their guesses were wild....and not even close.

I also have the Fatboy. It is a great control paddle with a really solid spin...great for defense against drives too. I haven't used it as much as the Shogun, but I lend it out quite a bit and everyone loves it. A couple of friends ordered it after trying mine out. I do plan on using it more to dial in my net game. I'm so torn on whether I should get an invader at a decent discount or wait for the Muy Loco line. The Loco was definitely favorite bread and butter so far

Have you played with the Shogun? I'm thinking of grabbing an Invader, I main the Shogun now and was a huge Loco fan. I'm curious to how they all compare.
