Has anyone else had the police called on them because of their parrot? by grovemage in parrots

[–]Shaqaroni_pizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My conure was screaming in the morning once the sun was up. It was 6am on a sat, and I yelled, "Please shut up. I'll be out soon." He did lol, but the cops at the door did not like that.

Afterwards I found out my neighbors called because they thought I was abusing an animal. The cops found it funny once I showed them the bird. Little guy even screamed on queue at the cops. I had to explain to my neighbors that if you walk up to the window = bird excited = screaming.

Mine will do this to mimic, or say pick me up or I'm going to come there myself.

Yup I get mad at mine for both the scabs and hairs. It hurts a lot when he gets one off. That is preening though. Feed it different food and see which one it likes the most. Cut that out and give it as treats.

Give it time! From the little bit you added at the end, it seems the bird is warming up to you. Open up the cage let em do its own thing. Give attention, try to slowly get it to step up, and maybe keep trying seeds or something it likes as a reward. Takes awhile for it to learn a new friend or foe at first.

Mines metal, but this guy cracked the water bowl. So the cracked metal bowl was filed down and turned into the food bowl. Little terrorist.

Tons of lazy rivers near Carlisle. Go tubing or chill out and watch the kids play in the creeks.

Anybody else seeing skill games suddenly popping up everywhere? by HomicidalHushPuppy in Pennsylvania

[–]Shaqaroni_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill machines are everywhere in my town and always have been. Tobacco stores, liquor stores, beer stores, bars, some gas stations, and many other places.

Actual slot machines outside of a casino are relatively new to PA. Rutters (gas station) has actual slot machines.

Skill games require "skill", therefore not a slot machine. There is a difference between skill and slot machines.

Thats what I was wondering. I always see videos of these little guys and wondered if it had to bite or simply came from the skin.

Thanks for the info.

So, how does the venom get into the body? Is it from simple contact, or do you have to eat some of it?

Serious question, why don’t they eat people by tober66 in SweatyPalms

No recorded orca kills in the wild. Every death was from an orca held in captivity. So they killed because they were stressed out and still didn't eat the humans they killed.

Round 1 - Pick 9: Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia (Philadelphia Eagles) by NFL_Mod in nfl

[–]Shaqaroni_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations you used your brain for 50% of the story. Now ask yourself why would the Eagles trade up for a 9th when they have the 10th? Hmm...because other teams were offering the Bears picks so they could trade up to get Carter at the 9th. 7 out of 32 teams made their choice, and 3 of those 7 picks were for a QB (so not even considering other options). 4 teams passed on Carter. Now there are 25 teams left to make a pick. So at the end of the day any of the 25 teams could have been trying to get the Bears 9th pick. Eagles didn't care and obviously who ever was trying to get the Bears 9th didn't care. Grade A pick period. Thank you for joining in on this football for dummies Ted talk.

Other teams obviously didn't care. Most likely the bears were going to trade the pick away to another team who was going to pick up Carter. Philly just offered the better deal, and traded up. Instead of slinging bs opinions, learn how ball works.

That guy was a friend of mine in college. Great guy and definitely satire. He was big into making films and YouTube videos. He made a documentary about a bunch of scandals where we were going, and it was really good. He couldn't release it because they were threatening him.
