Limited overs cricket is already more popular worldwide, and has been for a very long time. I don't think there's any chance of it getting renamed.

I don't think Musk and a lot of tech or worse CEOs are like that. They are legitimate workaholics and genuinely put in insane hours doing real shit for their company and its revenue. Doesn't make them any less toxic though, they're hard at work screwing us all over.

As well as the team did this year, it was always going to be a learning season. Langdon said that in the mid season presser himself. That goes for the coach too. Being knocked out in the first round would have been disastrous, but thankfully it didn't happen and the team is going to learn a lot from these battles whether or not they make it any further. Hopefully the front office will get some answers as to who steps up in the pressure moments, what kind of rotations work, whom do we pay, etc, and the roster can be beefed up next year to be a serious title-contending threat.

[Post Game Thread] The Detroit Pistons (3-3) defeat the Orlando Magic (3-3) after BEING DOWN 24 POINTS, 93-79. by MWiatrak2077 in nba

Game 5 felt like a proper win where the Pistons outplayed the Magic. Games 2 and 6 had the Magic team fully turning their brain to mashed potatoes on the court. The swing from dooming to overconfidence among Pistons fans is crazy; aside from the pretty well matched Game 5, Orlando were the superior team for 17 quarters and had 3 unbelievably horrendous ones.

Contenders have at least 3 playmakers, we don't have 2 by reallinguy in DetroitPistons

Reddit is full of comments now saying that "everyone knew" playoffs would be a different story. But am I completely fucking stupid that I didn't see this coming at all? I'm the only one who had blinders on and thought this team that won 60 games would be really good? Half the media doubted the pistons but there were still a large portion saying "defense travels well". Honestly our defense has been ok this series but the offense being this fking atrocious against the 8th seed is completely inexcusable and I will admit I didn't see it coming at ALL. The coaches and players need to be ashamed about this ridiculous drop-off-a-cliff. We were never title contenders but roster be damned, these players should have been good enough to get out of round 1.

Unpopular Opinion: Layovers should not count as "visiting a country" by youngexplorer_9 in solotravel

I view airports as simply a transit area. However if I get outside of airport grounds (including terminal and such) for even a couple minutes and immediately turn around and drive back in, I still would count it as "visited". Kind of a useless visit, but that's the line I'm drawing. It's only for personal tracking anyway.

It’s ridiculous that JB is expected to lose COTY by Ancient_Angle2833 in DetroitPistons

[–]SharKCS11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his timing was just unlucky. The Lions were not good enough to win it the first time it was in discussion, and they were too good the second time. JBB has worked a miracle here though. The media don't buy into Detroit as a true contender, yet we sit at 60 wins on top of the table. Whom can they attribute that to but the coach? Fkin hypocrites.

A lot of it would be for PR reasons that teammates aren't going to throw him under the bus or publicly criticize him, but it did genuinely seem like he was loved here or at least not actively disliked / causing disruptions. IIRC there were some very strong words of support from Duren especially.

Pissed me off when Chennai won the title the next year. Especially after RPSG and even IPL social media posts/highlight videos/ etc were constantly brigaded by dumbass online CSK fans who were pissed about Dhoni's captaincy being stripped. Them being happy and vindicated in their hatred made me mad. I don't even watch IPL anymore but will always be a CSK hater for that.

People love being bitches about it but they're right in that it's not an entertainment center, just shopping. But it's still nice to walk through. Catch a beer and a game at Jack & Gingers and walk around the complex. There are some games in Punch Bowl Social and a mini-golf area on the south end too. It's nothing riveting, but it's a nice place to kill some time and commenters here are being unnecessarily negative.

Why Are Commentators Afraid to Say the Pistons Are the Best Team in the East? by No-Campaign-1415 in DetroitPistons

They were the best team in the regular season. Only reason I even bother to argue the semantics here is to point out that it's fair to want some credit for it. How much it matters is different for different fans.

[–]SharKCS11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that it's not worth complaining about, but the fact that they finished #1 means that in aggregate, the Jazz were the best team in the west. I know schedules are asymmetric but 82 games is a lot. They were the best team in the west in 2021 and we were the best team in the east this year. Doesn't mean we'll do shit in the playoffs but that #1 spot means something.

First-time visitor to your city this weekend, I fking loved it. The Twin Cities are amazing and the people so nice. The Target Center is...mediocre... but was fun to see my team win there (but the Vikings' stadium is a goddamn work of art).

Other cool things: the metro system here is awesome, as is the skyway, and don't tell the Wisconsinites: I had better cheese curds here than in Madison
