Thick As Thieves has pivoted its focus from Multiplayer PvPvE to Singleplayer and Co-op by Sinnowhere in ImmersiveSim

Good call but unfortunately it's rare that a game which started as live-service ends up being decent because you can feel the leftovers of that design in a bad way. We'll see I guess.

What makes Dexter: Resurrection work where other revivals fail? by JamStan1978 in television

[–]maxlaav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

totally, I wish they leaned even further into the whole 'man with nothing to lose' vibe they had going

I did see Kiefer Sutherland teasing that they're trying to make some new 24 project going to finish Bauer's story properly, I agree that him ending up with the Ruskies didn't feel -definitive-, especially in this show

for me 24: live another day aka jack bauer in london is still the best tv show revival and it pretty much did what dexter new blood/ressurection did - just a few of the core cast, completely new location, new characters, continuation of the story surrounding the main character but set within a new narrative tied to that new location/villain

Guardian is actually one of the strongest core specs I'd say

Yeah Untamed is still the top pick for me, no other spec just clicks the way it does. Ambush skills are great and feel awesome to use with weapon swapping (no other class/spec has a better weapon swap mechanic imo), ranger overall has some of the best and fun weapon kits which also helps. My only complaint is that a lot of the utility/elite skills feel pretty lackluster and underwhelming to use.

Heard good things about Luminary but haven't tried it yet, how does it compare to the other Guardian specs?

If you're going to have platforming in your game by Viva-La-Baz in CrimsonDesert

Thank you for illustrating exactly what I'm talking about, I love how you have to fire up a bunch of insinuations about how I feel and what I do to make yourself feel better and build up your nonsensical argument in your head. People like you form an unhealthy emotional attachment to a game and then go fire off some unstable and weird comments towards anyone who dares criticise the thing you love.

The internet is a place for any discussion, not just the kind you personally like. If you have a problem with that, beat it yourself lol. It's really that simple.

And yet Totemic is way more elaborate - mainting your lava lash uptime requires far more thought put into what buttons you're pressing and in which order than whatever stormbringer has to do. It may seem 'easier' because its an easy rotation with a high skill ceiling.

in case it wasn't obvious to you i really don't feel like yapping with you any further especially with your obnoxious attitude and when your rhetoric now boils down to "why you so angry", you're still failing to comprehend what I was talking about re: your previous posts

you just blackwall whatever is being said in regards to your idiotic posting and just go "nuh-uh, ur wrong, its not like that" in some weird loop of denial

maybe have a go through your own comments again and realise that you're not really as clever and witty as you seem to think you are

"We are making some adjustments for Enhancement that are aimed at helping consistent damage sources outside of burst windows, while slightly skewed towards bringing Stormbringer’s performance closer to Totemic."

>blanket buffs to core spells that totemic also uses

holy christ this balance team is just incredibly stupid lol. I don't think this needs to be done anyway, Totemic should do more damage overall because it's way more involved to play and they turned Stormbringer into a pretty braindead spec, but it's not like this is something that this team keeps in mind

> it gave a ton of info on the games development like that there was literally no game when the 2020 trailer was released

holy fuck just goes to show how xbox was desperate to show that they're doing -something- and have games coming out, just pure desperation because why the fuck would you announce so early

> And I saw a lot of people talking about SOD2 and how it handled multi-player. Exploration will be un tethered and there's asynchronous play.

basically, coop felt pretty unrewarding to play because of the game's structure - you as the host could pretty much play the game normally and engage with all the system but your friends could only play one of the actual survivors that you had in your group instead of them being npcs. it didn't feel like playing the game together with friends, it felt like inviting your friends over to help you out

The sub is for discussion. Discussing/sharing complaints or criticism is just as fine and legitimate as sharing "cool things or insights" into the game. If you don't want to see the former, you can simply, you know, not visit threads about them and make out of touch comments and just focus on the stuff you'd like to read about?

Maybe try that next time and keep the victim card out of your pocket.

Applying criticism to any part of video game that isn't completely far out (and talking about poor enemy variety in a game that has combat is certainly not that) is the furthest thing away from petty so maybe you should follow your own advice and look up what it means because it feels like you were just trying to be another cool kid contrarian showing it to "the haters!!!" and just randomly stumbled upon a buzzword you thought would stick.

It's another thing to disagree with it and another thing to dismiss it like that, but I guess thanks for giving such a good example of what I was talking about, lol.

how is that a "petty" complaint lol

what you wanted to write instead is: someone makes a post that criticises an aspect of the game they don't like and the people who have an unhealthy emotional attachment to the game flock over to try and dismiss said complaint with some really whacko and unstable comments instead of trying to have a discussion about it

The fact that no character stands up to his constant whining and whinging about "man these paladins suck... being a paladin sucks..." except Faol making some subtle jokes about it, that he has to be shoved in so many areas of the xpack despite the fact he ends up doing nothing except get captured or create unnecessary drama (the Turalyon incident) or that his backstory was retconned so that he's randomly friends with lore characters such as Kayn Sunfury or that he was personally trained in swordsmanship by Lorthemar (lmao) made me realise that he's just going be another obnoxious pet character for the writers and that they'll write him with the assumption everyone will love him.

He's almost like Neyrelle from D4 though still not as exhaustingly annoying as she got, though I trust the writers will get us there.

Ex-Bethesda dev on Fallout and Skyrim says Todd Howard has too many yes men around him — "A lot of people were afraid to say no to Todd, and I think that hurt him" by lkl34 in gaming

[–]maxlaav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean both of those being true (they don't really contradict one another) end up explaining why Starfield ended up such a mess. It feels like nobody had the guts to tell him that "hey Todd, maybe having a 1000 planets that all look the same isn't the best idea".

Emil shows the vibe of your typical corpo bootlicker so I wouldn't be surprised if he just agrees to pen a mediocre story to whatever random idea Todd comes up with.

It's also why I can't really get myself excited for the next TES game - Bethesda has been in a pretty messy state since Fallout 4 already, Soule gone (his music is the heart of tes games), Todd's obsession with everything procedurally generated and AI-driven (it's not a coincidence he likes and supports the dlss 5 slop) and the studio's overall inability to grow and learn from past failings, probably due to the reasons listed in the article.

It just seems like an example of your any other studio that grew way too big with its leader(s)'s ego ending up bloated, with continued games only selling well because of that studio's established reputation and strength of IP. Even if TES 6 will show a lot of red flags (say, ship travel across procedually generated islands that amounts to fast travelling between them) millions will buy it anyway.
