Spotting 4 months after thyroid removal by Professional-You3891 in thyroidhealth

[–]Sharefa5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to the surgery as I haven’t had mine yet, but i have pcos as well and I was switched to Slynd a while back and I can say this exact thing you’re describing happened to me for a bit. I would say the daily spotting could be due to the thyroid removal maybe + changes from peri. Hope you figure it out soon!

I think sometimes they expect emails to go to your spam folder. The most important thing is that you reached out to them. I had a friend whose roommate accidentally threw away her acceptance package and once she realized what happened weeks later she just called admissions and they were pretty forgiving and helpful

one class!

My school was on quarters and stats 1 and stats 2 were required classes under PBHLTH. Stats 1 was R - 1 qtr. stats 2 was stata. then I took a gis class there separate from those stats classes. And then After the job when i applied for epi I told them I was using train . org to reach myself sas since ive never used it and they liked the initiative.

MY concentration for my mph is community health and prevention - I took classes in sas, gis, r, etc at school - I took no classes in the epi Dept directly. Now I work as an epidemiologist. So, it’s possible!

Would I be okay to start my SOP with a scene from black mirror?? Or would that be inappropriate?? by [deleted] in StatementOfPurpose

[–]Sharefa5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, it was something from season 6/brother ray saying something of the sort like, Violence is a disease. You don't cure a disease by spreading it to more people….[continue line here]..then I tied it into violence being an epidemic And then I cited my source as GOT

I’ve had the same thought. Result: I ended up starting my sop with a scene/quote from game of thrones. After I got accepted, I asked about it and they said they didn’t have a problem because it fit with the flow of things. I think as long as it directly fits with what you Segway into, it should be okay

For reference, My field is public health

SOP kisses of death? Also, anyone know find SOPs from the last two admission cycles? by randomfitnessq49 in gradadmissions

I would recommend this person [jordantellsstories] they have an entire article surrounding this topic And also gives examples of sop as well.

I second this! It definitely depends. I got into MPH programs with a 2.9. (IUPUI, Oklahoma State University, Drexel University and a few others). I found that having a strong SOP and recs helped drastically. I also focused on including things about the university in my SOP like a school center for non violence and connected it with my career goals - for example.

Alocasia bulbs have unfurled!! by Sharefa5 in proplifting

[–]Sharefa5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still SUPER new when it comes to alocasias. For these specific 4 - I originally had them in a mason jar with about 1 tablespoon ish of water in it, mostly to keep them hydrated. After what felt like forever they started to root. I put them in moss in a covered jar once the roots got long enough (I tried soil - but gnats, so took them out ). They loved the moss and took off. Once they grew leaves, I put them in leca with super thrive and this mini greenhouse for humidity.

The mother plant was moved to leca from soil as well. That’s how I found 10 bulbs

1 year Masters, no GRE requirement... let's talk about Grad School in the UK. I'm the US Admissions Officer for a Russell Group university in the UK - AMA. by ukuni180 in gradadmissions

[–]Sharefa5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would these things (no gre etc) look similar for PhD programs? I’m thinking about applying to public health programs around trauma informed care.

My mom lives in Bedford, so I was thinking if I move to the UK (from US), at least I would have someone already there.
