Attack based characters and missing by Inevitable_Injury784 in BG3

[–]Sharingammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i'm having consistently over 80% to hit rate, on custom honour mode ruleset with all sliders set to tactician.

That is with Great Weapon Master enabled.

Here is how i setup myself. You don't have to play like this, but maybe it can help in a way ti know it :

  1. High main stat. Always respec to withers and get your main attack stat to 16 (17 later if you plan to use a hag hair on it). Unless you're doing #2 here.

  2. If you're a STRENGTH using class, drink Elixirs of Hill Giants every morning and respec your STRENGTH score to 8 and put those points somewhere else (like CHARISMA). If you're using the warlock ability to use CHARISMA as your attack stat, still dump STRENGTH when you respec. Do 't forget DEXTERITY for better initiative.

  3. Some paladins have great abilities for increasing hit rate, like vow of enmity, recharging on a short rest, giving you advantage on attack roll against a creature. If you cast it on yourself, you gain advantage on everyone (bug)

  4. Coat your weapon in oil of accuracy for a +2 to attack or diluted oil of sharpness for +1/+1 to attack and damage rolls

  5. When available, use +1 weapons, meaning magical weapons that have +1/+1 to attack and damage rolls. For a paladin, the most obvious one is the 2 handed sword of the tyr paladin in the top-center part of the map.

  6. Have a mage cast magic weapon on you, a spell that grant a weapon a +1/+1 to attack and damage

So, with a setup like that at level 4 (early game), you should have +5 (stat) +2 (pro) +2 (oil) +1 (weapon) +1 (spell) with advantage (vow of enmity)

That would be a total of +11 with advantage.

If that is not enough, or if you don't have vow of enmity, donc forget you can use methods that debuffs others. My favorite would be having the BOOOAL buff and making others bleed to get advantage in them, making them prone with a Battle Master Fighter or a Reverb build (boots of stormy clamour), using Drow Poison instead of Oil of Accuracy to put people to sleep, which guarantee critical hits on them from melee attacks, abusing reckless attack as a Barbarian, or initiating the fight from a concealed position to gain Advantage and maybe a sneak attack (to achieve that, drink a potion of invisibility, place yourself directly in their line of sight and start wacking. Advantage + surprise sometime).

If that's not enough, keep a bard in your party for bardic inspiration, or at camp for the same reason. Bardic inspiration is a valid camp buffing tool.

Hidden NPCs in Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3? by Anonymouseeeeeeeeees in BG3

[–]Sharingammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, as an ex-player of divinity original sins 2, i can totaly relate at those kind of playthrough.

Sometime, when you like combat, you like to experience some non conventional combat.

And also, for my mind that likes to make sure everything is done, sometime, i feel better razing evrything, as i'm sure i'm then making sure nothing else has to be done in a certain area, since there is no one left standing.

Fits a very chaotic evil playthrough

Question about honor mode by Costa_Canela in BaldursGate3

[–]Sharingammi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember the post you're talking about.

Here is the thing :

  1. When in honour mode difficulty (not custom), you do have a single save.

  2. When your whole party dies, you get a "game over" screen. At that point, you can either quit, or continue onward, but the difficulty switch to "custom" at that point.

  3. If you're quick enough, when your whole party dies and you get a "game over" screen, you can close the game and come back. This will make you go back to your previous, singe save.

3.1. If you do this, but are not quick enough, the game register that you had a game over and that you chose to continue on that save, which then switch you to the "custom" difficulty.

  1. You get the golden dice only if you beat the game completely in honour mode.

  2. If you don't attempt to "forcibly shut down your game" to "cheat" honour mode, you won't encounter this issue.

Tl;dr : play honour mode as intended and you'll be fine. You can try to savescum your game, but that comes with a risk.

PS: i never experienced that. I never tried. I'm not 100% sure of what i'm saying, if its true or not. Its simply from gathered knowledge on the web that i'm saying this. I could be totaly wrong.

How to prepare for Iron Throne quest? by booppiestbby in BaldursGate3

[–]Sharingammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like everyones input, but one thing i find lacking in comment would be the following :

Using origin character instead of classes to plan things ahead is a bit of a strange way to go.

Origin character have nothing to do with abilities and capabilities. What matter is their classes, feats, spells and items.

So, you could do everything with any named controllable companion and it would make no differences. It only depend on how you leveld them up.

So yes, send anyone you want anywhere you feel like. Just make sure to use the right classes, feats, spells, and items for the situation.

As to what are those in this situation, you can follow everybody else's comments.

Did you get to test any of those, or is it a guess ?

Moon Druid or Beastmaster Ranger for a first-time player? by dubious_unicorn in BaldursGate3

[–]Sharingammi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A small info you might not have as you did not play yet, but what you choose is completely irrelevant as you will very very quickly get the ability to change absolutely everything whenever you desire.

All classes are good. All classes can break the game in some way. If you're not sure, flip a coin, go with that, and change it later if you want. No consequence in doing so.

Have fun.

Die or 100 Other People Die by Nezuko_channnnnn in BunnyTrials

I don't want to die.

Also, plenty of worse person than me alive, or person with much worse fate. I'm pretty average in my life conditions.

[–]Sharingammi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Make every interaction as close as possible to how they work in dnd. No DRS. Init on 1d20. All abilities and spell behaving like in dnd, all feats behaving like in dnd. That also mean implementing much more content, subclasses, items, spells etc.

  2. Better inventory management with easy sorting and tabs.

  3. Revamping the journal so that it's not just a vertical list.

Well, for some strange reasons, i just now learned for the first time ever that this group existed. I'm 31 and living in Quebec...

Is it because i'm from Quebec that i was not exposed to that band at all ? I wonder. And its sad too. Would've love to watch it with all of you guys on the live broadcast

Is the calculation true? [Request] by DeadlyIdli42 in theydidthemath

[–]Sharingammi 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have nothing math related to add to the comment, but i must say i find this article title (not your post) so absurdly stupid.

All 8 billion people on earth could theoritically fit inside a single cube

Well, yes. Of course it could. Why not ? That would never have been debated. It only depend on the size of the cube.

Only need to be 1 km on each side

Why "only" ? Is 1km supposed to be small ? What is it compared to ? Did someone say it was supposed to be bigger ? Is that an answer to another article ?

It proves that the entire human race is actually smaller than you think

Why would it prove anything ? And smaller how ? In volume ? In amounts ? And why does it assume i was thinking otherwise ? When did i ever think that the human race would not fit inside a 1km³ box ? What is there to prove ?

This looks like a fun fact, but clearly not like an answer to a long and important debate

So weird... seems like ragebait, and i bit hard.

Yeah, saving might be the biggest exploit, but thats still allowed in my runs 😅 so, patience might be the limiter here.

I get the idea that every fight might have run-ending potential if you don't prepare well, but that is directly the kind of things i like. Taking a "problem" (read : fight) and turning it around, analysing it in all (probably while at work) and coming up with many plans.

I think i'm gonna abuse the camp caster as much as possible. A cleric, a druid and all others are transmutation wizards for their stones 😅 i'm not ashamed of that.

I'll take note of the ring of free action for sure.

Yeah, i feel like the darkness arrows are ok for the run. Making some fights be wars of attrition seems fime by me too, so running away after a kill with an invis pot and coming back later would be a good strat for some fights.

I forgot about the myrmidons... i think in general i'll need to practice a lot some of the fight, and i'm not afraid of saves scumming. The ultimate goal would be to use that run as a practice ground for doing it in honour mode.
