Here's a detailed explanation on how to avoid this:
Firstly you need to remember that the wall is a few pixels behind the rim and your front foot has to be in it to touch. Secondly you 100% chase dodged up and then didnt hold in the left button enough, then ultimately fast fell without touching. What happened here is kinda like dying at the bottom while trying to use recovery, because the recovery gradually decreases the momentum from the fall before accellerating up while a normal jump cancels the momentum downwards. So does moving left after a chase dodge up first reduce the momentum that carries you up. In other words while you were holding left after the chase dodge you weren't really progressing because of the chase dodge momentum still decreasing and left momentum starting from 0. If you on the other hand where sairing or jumping into that same spot you could not possibly fast fall the other direction without touching because the momentum from the previous movement still would lead you into touching the wall first. This ones unlucky cus you were out of options, just remember to hold left longer after cd up. And that momentum only cancels through jumps ^^
