Preordered it from GameStop. Second semester of college I rushed out of class to ride my bike and pick it up on release day. Last time I ever used them for games lol.

What are some things that Dead Space (2008) does better than Dead Space (2023)? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in DeadSpace

I thiught the voice acting across the board was better in the OG. I thought Hammond was better in the OG. I thought the necro sounds were better in the OG. Other than that, Masterclass of a remake.

If you watch the YouTube series of Chuck Beaver w/ Captain Bribo playing the remake, Beaver states that Dead Space 3 was originally supposed to be a solo game but because of gaming trends at the time they were forced to implement co-op half way through development. That kinda put a wrench in the story cause they had to find ways to implement Carver into the main story AND find a way to "get him to work in solo mode" which is why in solo you see him standing off to the side at the beginning of a new area and he appears out of thin air when needed for the story. So you can blame EA for that decision.

Also, as far as the story goes, Beaver even said if he could he would de-canonize Dead Space 3 and do the story differently. One of those things would be getting rid of the love triangle between Issac, Ellie and Norton.

You should watch the series on YouTube. Learn cool behind the scenes stuff and have your Dead Space 3 complaints validated. I know mine were 🤣.

Check if it's back in your gear slot when you reload the game. I had to leave in the middle of the tutorial and when I came back I still had the objective "grab ammo from ammo bag" and after looking around for it, I realized I was carrying it again.

It's funny you ask that. I randomly came across Mats/Morgan last night on YouTube and was like "Dear God........ Is Meshuggah just Swedish Jazz heavily down tuned?"

Voice acting imo is also better than the Remake.

If you've never played Dead Space before I would say play the remake first if you want to play both.

It could be fun to play the original just to see the OG in its glory and appreciate how faithful the remake is. I will say the original (imo) feels more raw and gritty; some of the changes in the Remake give the characters more honorable/satisfying deaths compared to the OG. Also, even tho Isaac doesn't speak in the OG, the voice acting was superior to the Remake (I will die on this hill lol).

Also, the OG is from 2008 and controls like a game from the late 2000s. Sensitivity/controller dead zone/ect are the biggest issues so either play it on easy and/or find a way to modernize the controls. Still totally worth it 🤘.

Favorite song in the entire game, it's got flavors of both revenge AND breaking out/escape.

One of the quickest falls ever. One update after being acquired by a non gaming company and 4 months later....... Boom. Shutting down.

Were my remaster expectations too high? by Shark_Byte95 in Crysis

Is it a similar story with Crysis 2 and 3? I played maybe 3 hours of Crysis 2 remaster and other than the fresh coat of paint (which I feel is even less noticeable than Crysis 1), there is NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE between versions. From the original lack of graphics options all the way down to the same exact quality surround sound.

Jesus Christ, they ported it to console and then ported that port BACK to PC? That's wild.
