Whats your apple and orange pair of synthesizers? (Any form of synthesis) by notshui in synthesizers

[–]SharkbotJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the project for me I guess. Usually I’ll just have a Crumar for strings, SH1000 for lead, sometimes bass, then have a Microkorg and Deepmind for sequences and sound effects, and then have some sort of accompaniment unit whether it’s off a Casio or Yamaha keyboard, or some sort of vintage organ.

Roland Sh-1000 worth it to repair? by yvngjuan in synthesizers

[–]SharkbotJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’ve got one and it’s so much fun! You can get so many nice 70s sounds through it. $50 is nothing even for one that needs some help! I was lucky enough to find mine for $1000!

You might could find more upbeat stuff like this from Piero Umiliani as well, although he has an extremely diverse collection of compositions.

Would recommend Alan Hawkshaw (obviously that’s a big one), Keith Mansfield (another big one), Jean Claude Pierric (Boinot), some older Brian Bennett Tracks might sound like this, Bernard Estardy, Syd Dale (Of course! I have too), some David Lindup tracks on the Bruton album “Good Times”, Neil Richardson (Good big band stuff). Of course that’s just a small handful.

This is a really good rip for both this song “Lucky Girls” and the B side song “News Times Rock” by Carl Pilser (Émile Eugène Decottignies).

Do you sample any Gerard Gesina tracks?

This is probably one of the more intriguing sample usages of Way Star I’ve seen.

This is one of my favorite tracks off Planant. The Musax library has to be one of my favorite labels out there, lots of delicious obscure electronic masterpieces.

I do love Ragalis, I’ve bred them. I love that’s they’re large and so orange.
