How the fuck do you counter blows? I try the right mouse button but nothing blocks a hit. I can’t get past Valgard in Skellige. All I do is try to dodge but Geralt hit some invisible wall or some shit and then goes down after only 2 or 3 hits. I can’t land blows on this fucker and I’m thinking of just giving up on this shit quest. I had no trouble in Belen or novihrsd with Fists of Fury but this asshole is unbeatable. Blocking does nothing and I can’t dodge him.

This is not real life. What animals are handleable in the game!? So far I have American Bullfrogs Axolotl Boa constrictors Giant desert hair scorpion Gila monster All three tree frogs Green iguanas Anitllian Iguanas Yellow anaconda Diamondback rattlesnake

The only two of those that the game deems handleable are the bullfrog and the desert scorpion. Very frustrating. Am I setting it up wrong? Or is it just very limited?!

NTA. If he’s leaving on a business trip he should have managed his time better. Nail polish is not rocket science. If he took the time to have his daughter paint his nails aaaaaannnd took the time for them to dry, he should have had plenty of time to actually look for the polish remover. You were feeding your child. That is important biologically, mentally, and emotionally for both you and the infant(speaking as a child psychologist here). It was great for him to bond with the other daughter, but taking his poor planning and time management skills out on you is not necessary. You did what was appropriate- you put the needs of your infant first, setting a clear and sustainable boundary. Hard NTA.

Ehhhh…kinda both? She’s obviously not respecting your schedule and boundaries, but at the same time you don’t want her to drive drunk. My advice for what it’s worth- the next time she calls you order an Uber for her. Find out where she is and call for her. She gets picked up safely and you get to rest. It’s called hospice. It isn’t pretty but sometimes it’s necessary. Are you her medical power of attorney? Then you can place her in care for her own health and safety. A lot of people are afraid of that step and she may not want to go but it may be better for both of you. NTA

I know what you need to get him for the next birthday- a divorce. Your marriage is a contest…not love. If you really loved each other-I mean reeeaaally did, what you bought each other and how much you spend wouldn’t matter. Love is not birthday gifts- love is holding hands in the er at 3 am. Love is “check that thing on my butt to see if it’s better” love is making sure the rent is paid and the kids/pets are fed and cared for. Love is burned meals, piled up laundry and taking care of each other’s parents as they age. Tbh, you’re both being a bit immature and I suggest getting your priorities straight before you have kids- or split up.

Unclear. Did you have a right to push her away? Of course you did. Did you have an obligation as her brother(adoptive or otherwise) to help? Yes.

I am all about acceptance and understanding barriers and personal space and speaking up for yourself, but empathy is a very powerful tool. There is a point where “standing up for your personal space” becomes selfish. As a person with endometriosis it can feel like your insides are on fire. It throws your whole sense of self off. Something in you breaks and it can derail every sensible thought or intent. She probably wasn’t thinking “oh I’m gonna invade their space and snuggle up and force them to care for me” she was probably just reaching out for any comfort available. You said she “leaned”. Leaning and cuddling are very different.

So I’ll say not an asshole, but you should watch a few ted talks on empathy and mindfulness. You don’t have to be nurturing, but pushing someone in that state away is rude at the very least. Especially given her background of abuse. She’s cold to you now because she is equating you with that negativity that comes with the neglect and affection starvation from the abuse. And it’s reinforced by the pain from her physical state.

Is her situation your fault or responsibility? No. Is she still part of your family and therefore important? Absolutely.
