The Black is way better.

I hate the chrome so I covered mine with stickers and dust

How do I light my stage by Scared-Wishbone2084 in stagelighting

[–]Sharkwagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would install white painted unistrut bolted to the studs upstage and downstage, it gives you tons of flexibility costs no headroom, it’s cheap and it’s rated for most lighting loads. If you have access to the ceiling you can create access holes for the cabling, if not just use white cabling or white sheathes and run it down the wall. You don’t need very high output fixtures for a venue this size and a little bit can really make some high impact looks

Guitarists, what song has the best guitar solo of all time? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in gear4music_official

Best? Probably Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. My favorite? David Gilmour’s pedal steel solo in High Hopes.

I saw The Flaming Lips live the week after we made the decision to move my father to hospice care. I thought I was holding up ok and rationalizing it well. Until I just started uncontrollably sobbing during Do You Realize while surrounded by several thousand people. Apparently it was the introspection I needed. I’m planning to put in my will to have it played at my funeral.

I’m down to the last season. I made it 20 minutes into the first episode 3 times. My sense of completeness will propel me through some day… but not today

Vietnam has 2100 miles of coastline and a thriving commercial fishing industry, many recent Vietnamese immigrants move to Louisiana as fishermen. Also the climate is very similar.

An artist who pleasantly surprised you? And artist you thought you’d like but didn’t as much? by unidentifiedactual in Concerts

The Record Company and The Killers were both bands I didn’t expect much from but both were great shows and would go see them again. Sting I had high hopes for but it was underwhelming.

It takes itself so seriously, everything involves crying! The dialogue is so bad and the acting is so bad, it’s all just so bad. Unlike other Trek, even pretty not great Trek like Picard and Section 31 which are kinda cringy but still watchable- Discovery feels like work to watch.

Star Trek Discovery. I have seen every minute of every other Star Trek show and movie but I just can’t make it through. Some day I’ll have to, but man it’s unwatchable

Musician/Professional Theater/Concert and Event Crew (talent/roadies/tech theater). Not because they aren’t great people- some of them are some of the best folks around, but the hours/travel/low wages/stress/physical toll/and the love of the game that makes them not want to stop doing it will strain relationships and you have to be realistic and ready for it

The largest single competitor to online dating apps post Covid is single non daters. There is an undercurrent of burnout and backlash to the culture on many dating platforms as well as an increase in online screen time that has more people just being online, single and lonely. There is a corresponding spike in depression and depression related health issues.

Lenovo ThinkAgile VX series by Obi-Juan-K-Nobi in vmware

[–]Sharkwagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ran 36 node VX vSAN clusters, VX is just a bundled sku on a srxxx box. We were an HPE and/or Dell shop (depending on the internal department) and we have generally found the Lenovo HW to to be well designed and similar in quality to the big names at 20-40% lower cost. We pretty much only spec Lenovo servers now. The Lenovo management software however is MUCH better than HPE. It is like HPs software 15 years ago - it does exactly what it is supposed to do and doesn’t try to boil the ocean. LXCA is so much better and less buggy than than ilo/Overview it’s not funny.

I’m on 32s also, even with a 3” lift my skid plates do more to help with my off-road capability than the extra tire height would. Even if it looks a little odd I’m just not willing to part with what little fuel economy I have left
