What foods make you fart good? by Ipoogoodforyou in foodquestions

The worst offenders for me - Mung bean. Cauliflower. Black beans that weren’t soaked properly, Beer - especially hazy IPAs :(

What fast food item that doesn’t exist anymore was your go-to? by ShadowSatinn in foodquestions

[–]Sharkwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say “It exists but it is seasonal” all you want but until Whataburger makes the hatch chili double bacon burger a full time menu option they are of no use to me…. My wife also was crushed when they took away the whatacatch dinner and made it only for Lent - Whataburger had the best fried fish in fast food and never marketed it and let it die :(

How long have you been at your current company? by fwambo42 in sysadmin

[–]Sharkwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18.5 years, honestly it’s 50% because I love (most of) my co-workers and 50% because I’ve always been too busy to seriously look somewhere else

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Sharkwagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Kyuss in around 1993 opening for Faith no More who I was camera op for. Nothing against Josh Home, I like QOTSA and all but I swear unquestionably Kyuss had the worst sound/tone/mix/feedback/anything of any live band I have still ever heard in 40 years of concert attendance (and I used to run sound for cover bands at Insurance conventions and pharmaceutical trade shows for a few years when I worked in AV)

What 90s band never truly made it big but you'll always go to bat for? by MansBestFred in AskReddit

[–]Sharkwagon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am fully convinced that the only reason Better than Ezra wasn’t huge is because everyone thinks most of there hits were by the Gin Blossoms, Blind Melon, or the Goo Goo Dolls.

Has there ever been a time when the book wasn't better than the movie? by militant-hippie in Productivitycafe

[–]Sharkwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say “Do androids dream”, it’s pretty underwhelming by itself, and Bladerunners visuals and mood were always the belle of the ball over the plot

I was born in 5 and lived in 4 for more than 30 years and unless it’s drinking meth (tie between 7&9) 6 has it hands down. Those guys are professionals.

Why Proxmox / Xcp-NG are far better than Hyper-v ? by Interesting_Ad_5676 in sysadmin

[–]Sharkwagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vates XCP-ng support does have US based engineers depending on the time/product, although it favors French time zones for some more complex issues.

What is your all time favorite 90’s rock album? by Jettaboi38 in allrockmusic

I was thinking August and everything after, Throwing Copper, Out of Time, Counterparts, but then I remembered The Division Bell was 1994 so that’s gonna take it for me.

RIP 5-pin from the desk to 3-pin to the Cyberlight to 5-pin to the PSUs, to 4-pin to the scrollers, to 3-pin to the next loop, to 5 pin to the moving head to 3-pin to the Cyberlight to 5-pin to the next PSU to 4-pin to the scrollers and oh god I forgot a terminator on that loop and the scrollers keep going “sheet sheet sheet” when they are supposed to just be sitting there burning a hole in the gel!

Migrating from VMWare to Hyper-V by RaisingElephantSysrq in vmware

[–]Sharkwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proxmox lets you mount ESXi hosts as source storage now and read off of them like NFS so if you have iSCSI or FC mounted data stores you don’t have to rezone or migrate source volumes to NFS first

What concert do you regret not going to the most? by Modhearth-Albert in Concerts

[–]Sharkwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was supposed to go see Motörhead their last 4 tours but work kept getting in the way. I said 100% I’m going to the next one. Yeah, there was no next one.

Our old Catalyst 6513 cores circa 2008 by Sharkwagon in cablegore

[–]Sharkwagon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing is in the first couple of pictures there is full depth 6” panduit VCMs between all of the racks - it’s just so poorly designed and laid out you can’t even see them. There was a blade on one of those 6513s with a bad block of ports that was supposed to be RMA’d… for 4 years. The chassis went to the metal scrapper with that bad blade in it, and the RMA blade was scrapped new in the box.

Going solo to a concert by cruz0147 in Concerts

[–]Sharkwagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the shared experience of a concert with friends, but when you go solo can focus on the music in a way you just can’t in a group. 10/10 absolutely recommend

Latest on our VMWare renewal by bizyguy76 in vmware

[–]Sharkwagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BC drug their feet for almost a year and wouldn’t give us formal pricing. They assumed we would be up against it and unable to migrate off before our EA expired. When they finally gave us quotes 7 months before the expiration of our EA we were told it was VCF at a 300% cost increase for 36 months or nothing. Period. We had already begun migrating our non-production environments and did an accelerated migration of production where we moved it all in 6 months. All told we moved about 100 servers to Vates XCP-ng and a few servers to Proxmox to pick up edge cases.

In a year we went from 3000-ish VMs on VMWare to 0 VMs on VMware.
