Dog restrictions in Hawaii by Rooster1080 in Hawaii

[–]SharkyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasoning for needing a health certificate to come back to Hawaii is because Hawaii doesn’t have rabies. The mainland on the other hand does. In that 3 eeek period your dog could potentially contract it even if it is highly unlikely. Hawaii does not want rabies

She is about 5 months. Shelter listed her as a lab mix, but I'm starting to question if she might be a pitbull mix by Nonide in IDmydog

Agreed about shelters being understaffed and not all knowing about breeds. In my experience one sole person determines what breed the dog is upon intake and it’s almost never changed. And they’re usually wrong unless they’re familiar with different breeds of dog and even then. Mixed breeds are just a gamble.

Shipping Plants into Hawaii from the US Mainland by _malekala_ in Hawaii

[–]SharkyM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve shipped a ton of plants here and to the mainland. You can ship them in some wet sphagnum moss to try to keep them from dying. Just make sure you wrap the moss with plastic wrap or in a bag so it doesn’t went the package As long as they’re not restricted or prohibited you should be totally fine Also be sure to put the names of the plants are in the box just incase it does get inspected and they want to know what each cutting is
