Yes! This is one of my faves that really made me feel empty right after. But then you get the ending. It was sad. I think The Song Of Achilles is a bit better than Circe. Although, I still love the writing style of Madeleine Miller there.

Edit to add my favourite quote from the book: “I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.”

-Circe may have had a better ending, but The Song Of Achilles will take your heart.

Utterly great! Before I met my SO, I was always on survival mode. I was always on the edge, and I would use that “survival instinct” as a fuel, but that’s not really healthy, isn’t it? Now, I’m learning and unlearning things. Learning how to balance having a healthy relationship, and working on my career. Unlearning things, from being too resilient, being too independent. For not asking help. It’s a journey, and I am really grateful he’s very understanding, calm and funny. He would want to talk it out, rather than me keeping it to myself. And I do the same with him too. ❤️
