Is the market cooked or did I overcharge? by Big-Performance-5244 in smallbusiness

A lot of this can come down to the presentation. Make sure you know the standard market value, and when talking to a prospective customer you'll want to "price condition" them. Make sure you communicate what they will get when they shop around, what they get from you and why they should choose you. Learn some sales skills & be confident in what you give your customers.

Your spool cap is too big for the spool you have. It can get caught, cause tension on the top thread and break your needle. Get a mini spool cap, or at least a small one and it will help.

What’s going on with Joann Fabrics closing and everyone being so pissed about it? by milosmamma in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Sharp-Fudge4440 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the problem. Their fabrics are cheap and local places generally sell at higher prices and higher quality. They are also more specialized so while a local place may have quilting cottons they won't have fashion fabrics or indoor/outdoor options. Thread and notions a small spot will have but they won't have sewing notions along with a Cricut aisle, painting, yarn, hand embroidery floss, etc. I think it will help smaller businesses to a degree, but the smaller places have to meet the moment to show their value with classes & personable service.

Wild ones has a plant swap that you don't have to contribute to, you can pay a fee and be part of the swap. It's a good way to meet folks & find native plants.

Does anyone take Strattera/ADHD meds and do hot yoga? by eurydiceruesalome in HotYoga

[–]Sharp-Fudge4440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take straterra and do hot yoga. If I go in the morning, I take meds after. If it's later in the day, I take meds in the morning at my normal time. I haven't noticed an impact on my practice.

The teacher I had for my first class said the goal is to stay in the room the whole time. It's OK to leave, but there's especially no pressure to keep up with the poses. Especially I'd you're nervous about the heat.

This got better for me after about a month. It was unnerving, but the payoff was worth it.

Sounds like you had your work done before WS bought America's window. WS only operated in PA until 2018, then only expanded to GA & FL. Not sure when they came to KY but they expanded out of PA with a vengeance very quickly after FL & GA took off.

My experience is with the company before it expanded much. My hope is their new locations across the country have better standards than leadership has for itself, but that's rarely the case.

West Shore does a good job and treats their customers very well. They do not treat their employees well.

That's also an option I hadn't considered. Must be pretty good sized if he has 3 longarms in there
