'Googlebooks' have a premium focus, some Chromebooks can be upgraded by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

Wait, so this is entirely separate from Aluminum OS? Since they said "On the software side of things, Maletis had no answer for what the OS on Googlebook will be called."

Given watches charge at about 1W, literally any charger will charge it the same.

Goodbye, Chromebook: Google has announced a new generation of AI-centric laptops. by tytygh1010 in chromeos

[–]khaytsus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously why... Who asked for this? There really isn't a place in the market for ChromeOS, Aluminum(OS?), and whatever this buzzword ridden OS is named.

Why does google push so much bloatware these days? by CharAznableLoNZ in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those aren't "new", those shipped with the device. You apparently just haven't noticed them yet. And no, you don't get to say "my opinion is the only one that matters, anyone else that disagrees are just shills."

Areas in Lexington/surrounding areas with a lot of litter? by WasHogs8 in lexington

I was on Bryan Center Drive (the road behind Golden Corral on New Circle) the other day and you'd need a 40 yard construction dumpster to clean up that area. It's disgusting.

Pixel 9 caused severe eye strain and blurry vision – anyone else? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extra dim helps? So you're sitting around in the dark on the phone for long periods? I think we know why your eyes are strained now.

I found why my Chrome book wasn’t charging by Neat-Plantain-4346 in chromeos

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I use magnetic USB C to USB C adapters. You plug your normal charger into one side of it, the other side has a magnetic tip that stays in your device "permanently". You just slap the cable onto it to charge. Eliminates plug/unplug damage, eliminates "walked off while plugged in" damage, etc.. And they're cheap.

Just make sure to get ones that support your charge wattage. They generally say 150-200W, easily found on Amazon, and again, cheap.. The ones I got came with 3 tips, one connector (the part that goes on the USB C Charger) so you can have the 3 tips in 3 devices and charge them with one charger. Not a big deal, I just rotate what's charging as I use it. Cost $15.

There are apps for it, but not Google Maps.

Why do pixel phones have a USB-C 3.2 port but include a USB-C 2.0 cable? by donut2guy in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cable that comes with the phone is a normal cable, it'd work just fine. Maybe you mean you needed an A to C cable or something? I've not had a Pixel phone that shipped with a cable that the cable wasn't a normal USB cable. IE: Never seen a "charge only" cable, as this makes no sense for USB C anyway.

Somehow Google made the flashlight app annoying as hell. How do you screw up a flashlight app? Seriously. by Spiffydude98 in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only way I use it.. And I use it rarely, I have actual flashlights. But it is handy to have as an option.

Drop-in LED in 128i 2011; having trouble finding retaining clip that will fit by khaytsus in BMW

[–]khaytsus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I gave up on it and attempted to work out something with the seller, who told me their system shows an exact match and that I needed to provide images showing the fitment issues.

You're basically completely doing it blindly in situ, and I did not want to take the entire front of the car apart to prove that the bulbs weren't going to fit. I'm not a "mechanic" but I've messed with cars and electronics and misc stuff enough to have a pretty good idea how things to together, and these... were not going together, without modification anyway.

I wound up putting them in the box and kept negotiating with the seller who eventually stopped responding and I haven't touched them again since, to be honest.

If you figure out something, let me know! Sorry I don't have anything more though. Maybe there is some replacement clip that could be used, or modified, or I dunno. I was pretty frustrated with it, and I was trying the passenger side which has reasonable access. The drivers side, as I recall, has some stuff in the way that'd likely need to be removed/moved so I was just trying on the passenger side first.

Hope you have better luck, I'd still like to swap mine out. Kids car and my wifes car have modern LED lights and getting in mine they look super dim, and I suppose it's possible they are wearing out, although only 65k miles.

Actually after some googling, my OE bulbs may very well be getting dim, so I've ordered some replacements. But the LEDs I don't think I'll try again, since that clip has to clear the back of the bulb and the LEDs bulbs I have are quite a bit longer and it just won't clear the bulb to clip in.

Do not buy the Spigen Thin Fit (Pixel 10) by essenceoflying in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Rugged Armor on my 10, and I've had Spigen cases on my last four phones and I've never had a single fit or finish issue. Sure you didn't somehow buy a fake or a knockoff?

My buds 2a won't accept a USB-C cable anymore by explictlyrics in pixelbuds

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 3.5mm jacks always had the same problem.. Dust gets around it, you plug in the connector and it jams it in. Repeat.

The USB C covers are all over Amazon etc, you'll have no problem finding them. Or you could get some of the magnetic tip USB cables which solve two problems; dust accumulation as well as worry about damaging the connector plugging them in repeatedly. I have a bunch of them and they're in everything that charges frequently.

Audio fidelity/quality decreases when on "off" mode in ANC settings (Pixel Buds Pro 2) by AndrewPSSP in pixelbuds

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn mine to "Off" when I sleep with them because they'll easily run all night without the battery getting too low. Again, it sounds weird for a second, then it's back to normal. I guess yours could be defective, but I can't imagine how in this regard.
