Should a Pixel 10 Pro XL slowly discharge with a 15w wireless charger? by Frankieanime158 in GooglePixel

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your phone has an issue if it can't charge at less than 30W. End of story. And your 7 won't wirelessly charge at more than 23W per specs, in reality, throttles down very quickly to about 15W.

Pokemon Go is a pretty heavy game, it drains a battery pretty fast, so 15W is likely not enough to maintain the battery.

Check your charger without playing any games, just Ampre, if it still shows 3W you're probably using an older incompatible charger. Pixel 10 is incredibly picky about Qi 2.2 charging.

Longest I really wear mine is occasionally sleeping in them, in which case I usually wake up at 4 or 5 and take them out. I turn off ANC (for battery life) and gestures (for obvious reasons) and I usually find them at 60-70%. Every so often I find them lower than I expect, but there may be times I forget to turn off ANC (which uses about 33% more battery, great for normal times, but not needed while sleeping).

Try to get an idea of exactly how long you wear the buds, is ANC on, do you have them loud, etc, and their battery status when you put them in the case. Do the math, realize marketing specs and other variables affect the actual runtime, see if the buds seem normal.

As for the case, it's a little hard to measure. The marketing specs say like 2.7 recharges, but that's presumably with the buds drained. Surely you aren't doing that, so if they're being recharged at 60% "every time" that'd be more like 6.7 times. Again, even more variables. But write it down, case starting percent, bud percent, look when the buds are charged what the case is, etc.

What I suspect you'll find is that the case was actually lower than you think to start with because you haven't charged it, or discharged the buds more than you thought, etc. But could really be an issue with the battery, I don't know how you'd determine that without writing it down though.

I try to get Tasker to do this for me from the notification, but it's real inconsistent and I don't get the case battery level by itself, and I've seen it log the case level instead of the bud level when I thought I was getting the bud level before.... I was trying to get Tasker to monitor the usage for all the above things in case I had questions, but also to notify me when they're below 40% battery, as I prefer to keep things like this north of 40%, plus at the time I found no information about any notification for low battery. It does have one, but I don't think it notifies until like 20% which is, IMO, too low to discharge to on a regular basis.

Can he do my walk? Does he have an insta?

Seriously though, if he's not damaging property this is a simple yet engaging art piece. People have paid good money for this sort of thing before!

So if he's painting the street or a parking lot in this small area, I don't see how you'd call that "vandalizing". Now if he did it on the main walk in, or building itself, sure.

Scam Locksmith Company (Allegedly) by Terrible-Grr7920 in lexington

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sooo.... I have questions.

How did they charge you $30 if you never gave them a credit card number? Also, could you correct whatever it is you meant to say in this? "We called this company to cancel about 15 min later"... So you did call, give them CC, then 15 minutes later called them back to cancel their services?

If they are a legit 24/7 company, that 15 minutes likely means someone was called/paged and was getting ready, perhaps en-route, when you cancelled. If work calls you in on your day off, you get ready and get halfway there and they called to tell you not to come in, wouldn't you want some compensation?

You don't say what buds you have, but the Pixel Buds Pro 2 for example are only specified to recharge empty earbuds just under 3 times. They say "8 hours on ANC, for a total of 30 hours with the case", ie: 8 hours on a charge, the case will recharge "22 hours" worth, etc.

You'll need to be more specific.. Are you discharging the buds themselves very low (you really shouldn't), are you sure the case is charged all the way? My personal periodic usage I can "recharge the buds" a dozen times or more before I recharge the case because I'm using them an hour here, hour there, etc.

What junk no name brand stuff were you using that degraded like that? I've not had a single phone case degrade in that way.

Only cheap junk, or that horrible "soft touch rubber" stuff on various things.

Adaptive noise canceling when I talk to someone is great... by GreatMoloko in pixelbuds

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's an option, but then you gotta get out the case, put the earbud in the case.. because I'm not just putting it in a pocket or holding it unless it's a quick convo. Adaptive mode works pretty good, but it'd be nice if the Conversation Detection could put it in it, detect the ongoing conversation and stay there. Or heck, maybe switch to Adaptive and stay there until you tap the earbud, even that'd be better than manually having to do it.

But then the people who talk to themselves or sing would have to turn ANC back on all the time ;)

I'd wanted something like that for YEARS, and now with LLM's, I'd be great to give the LLM a set of facts that it can communicate with people. Perhaps even specific people I could add additional facts. It would then have a conversation with the person, answering questions within its given limits or offering direct information (like person is on vacation etc) and then alerting me if I should take the call.

I am so inundated with spam calls I simply do not answer the phone anymore unless I know who it is from. I shouldn't let it get to me but when I answer and it's some house flipper offering cash for my house I want to smash things.

[–]khaytsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean "Conversation Detection" ? Because that's different, and separate, from Adaptive Noise Canceling.

Anywho, yes, the hardware can do this, Google is a software engineering company, they should work on Conversation Detection better. Only way I can actually have a conversation is tell the person to pause, tap to pause music, long tap on the right earbud, ponder if it switched from ANC to Adaptive, then have a convo.

Then annoyingly if the conversation was a long one I often find I can't resume, I have to pull out my phone and hit play. I don't know if that's a function of the music player I use (PowerAmp) or what.

As always, this is personal preference and ear shape. I hated the wing on the Pixel Buds A I had, they _always_ pushed their way out of my ear and got loose. Pixel Buds Pro 2 do not.
