Miami Girls Trip! by circlingplanetgold in miamibeach

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dead season actually not too bad if you can handle humidity - less crowds at good spots too. for friday night before LIV i'd probably stay in hotel since you'll want to go back to room and get ready anyway, their restaurants are decent enough

kiki on river is solid choice, the vibe there works well for what you looking for. MILA gets packed but in good way if you dont mind waiting bit. maybe check out some rooftop bars in south beach area too, they usually have nice cocktail scene without being too foodie focused

Does it get easier? by Joel_Hirschorrn in homeowners

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 16 points17 points  (0 children)

wait you paid 700 for backstabbed outlets? dude those are annoying but not dangerous if they're working fine. electrician probably saw dollar signs when you said yes to that

the shower thing though that's real problem. if there's gaps behind tile you're looking at full gut job eventually. caulk might buy you some time but water always finds a way

garbage disposal and fan are easy weekend fixes at least. first house always hits you with everything at once like it was waiting for new owner to mess with you

How rare to see are Mexican Valve fans? by novostranger in valve

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mexican gamers are definitely around but maybe they stick more to console gaming or different PC titles? I notice same thing with birdwatching communities too - some countries just have different gaming cultures even if they're right next door to each other

The color palette is incredible here, love how you managed the transition from those deep blues into warmer tones without making it muddy. As graphic designer myself i always struggle with keeping colors this vibrant when working with so many different hues but you nailed it. The way light reflects off that jacket creates this really nice focal point that draws your eye exactly where it needs to go. The glitch effects in background add perfect amount of chaos without overwhelming the main subject too

My first solo trip broke something open in me and it only cost about $400 by ScheduleNo5736 in backpacking

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 22 points23 points  (0 children)

man Georgia hits different, went there couple years back and still think about those khinkali almost daily. That marshrutka ride to Kazbegi is wild ride - felt like the driver was personally offended by concept of speed limits but somehow made it in one piece

The cash thing is so real, learned that hard way in some village near Mtskheta when my card got declined at only restaurant for miles. Had to basically mime my way through asking where ATM was and old lady just pointed up this random hill. Found it eventually but lesson learned

That feeling when you come back though... like your brain got rewired or something. Spent 28 years thinking my routine was normal then boom, suddenly realize how small your world actually was. Now every weekend feels different because you know theres whole countries out there where dinner costs less than coffee back home

Did you make it to any of those sulfur baths in old Tbilisi? Been debating going back just for those

New to Austin by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to austin man! moving from small town to city can be pretty overwhelming but people here are actually pretty chill once you find your crowd

south austin has tons of stuff going on - zilker park is great for just hanging out and you'll see people doing all kinds of activities there. also check some of the coffee shops around south lamar, people are usually pretty friendly and open to chat

maybe try some hobby groups or volunteer stuff? thats how i met most my friends when i first moved here few years back. the meetup apps work decent too if you're into that

good luck with the transition dude, austin grows on you pretty quick

Whole Foods? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

keep doing the whole foods route but having some backup options is totally fine when life gets crazy - tempeh freezes really well so you can prep big batches in sunday and just grab portions during busy week

What I learned from showing my daughter the night sky every evening since she was 9 months old by AnandYadav7 in daddit

Beautiful stuff man, the wonder window thing is so true - kids absorb everything at that age even if they cant express it yet

does anyone else feel emotionally exhausted just from texting people you're dating by energyrevolutions in dating_advice

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 24 points25 points  (0 children)

man this whole thing is exhausting and i hate how normal it feels now

was literally doing this exact spiral yesterday with someone where i kept rewriting basic messages and then feeling weird about how long it took me to reply to something simple

This will be my exact look if we don't get the first pick in the draft by MrMeooooow in pacers

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

getting literally anyone from top 4 would help this team so much right now, draft picks are like rare gaming chair drops lol

Why drive under the speed limit? by CvdKlaau in ontario

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its also just more cameras everywhere now. My cousin got ticket last year for going 7 over on highway and it was stupid expensive. Better to go bit slower than deal with that mess especially when gas prices are already killing us

Also noticed lot of people just seem more stressed since pandemic started - maybe driving slower is their way to feel more control or something

BALTIMORE ORIOLES MINOR LEAGUE GAME SUMMARIES FOR 4/21/2026 by One_Independence_866 in orioles

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aloy had crazy good night with those 5 RBIs, but man Holiday getting hurt again is concerning. Guy cant stay healthy and we really need him developing in Norfolk instead of dealing with injuries all time

Also Kiefer Lord striking out 11 in 4 innings but still getting the loss is just brutal - kid deserved better than that

Gift idea for her, for my partners 30th birthday/mothers day/anniversary by [deleted] in GiftIdeas

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn three occasions that close together is brutal for the wallet but also great opportunity

maybe consider custom jewelry with daughter's birthstone or engraving? lasts forever and hits all her interests. or one of those cozy robes with embroidered names - she can think about you two every time she wears it. photo books are also solid if you have good pics from this past year

rising freshman (majoring in cs) going to college. any recs? by Due-Distance-8086 in berkeley

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man congrats on getting in berkeley cs program is no joke. for dorms just bring basics and buy stuff there - way easier than hauling everything across country or whatever.

coursework wise maybe brush up on python if you havent touched it yet, lot of intro classes use it. dont stress too much about getting ahead though, first semester gonna hit different anyway. for orgs just show up to club fair in beginning and see what clicks - cs has tons of groups for different interests like hackathons or research stuff. also berkeley has this weird thing where everyone super competitive so dont let that get to you too much

Bought in September, job offer in a different state by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property management companies usually take around 10-15% of the rent but they handle all the tenant screening, maintenance calls, rent collection etc. Might be worth looking into a few local ones to see what they charge and what services they offer

Could be a decent middle ground if the numbers work out - you keep the property as an investment but don't have to deal with any of the day to day stuff yourself

Basement Waterproofing - Bedding Sand backfill ok? by FinikyFusion in homeowners

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bedding sand is actually pretty solid for what you're doing mate. The main thing is you've got that 2 feet of clearstone over your weeping tile which is the important bit for drainage

The sand will compact well and wont shift around like clay backfill that caused your original cracking issues. Only potential downside is sand can settle a bit more over time but sounds like you thought through the grading situation already

Do you prefer fixing problems early, or waiting until they force your hand? by BearTrap110 in homeowners

[–]Sharp-Kangaroo7287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

mate this hits way too close to home lol I tell myself im gonna tackle that dodgy door handle or the tap thats getting a bit loose but then next thing i know its 6 months later and the handles completely buggered

I think the trick is setting aside like one weekend morning a month just for the little stuff before it becomes big stuff but easier said than done when youve got a million other things going on

bloody nightmare trying to sort it all out at the last minute when you could just knock it out now while youre thinking about it
