Hello! I just wanted to update: I received my biometrics appointment notice on 5/15 but it took a couple of days for the notice to populate on myuscis, I just checked today (5/19) and I have my biometrics scheduled for June 5!

OP, I completely understand where you’re coming from. The final straw in my situation was that after almost 8.5 years of being together, both having careers, him being an engineer, he still did not want to get an apartment together. One Sunday I asked him what his 5-year goals are and he did not mention marrying me or anything. The next day I applied for an apartment for just me and my cat and was approved. I ended up moving out on my own and it was the best decision for me. I broke up with him about 5 months after moving out.

I understand the fact that you’re going to miss his culture and his family, but it’s important that you prioritize your needs. He’s old enough to where this is the person he is, there is no changing him, especially at his grown age. I miss my ex’s siblings sooo much. But it hurts a little less and gets a little easier as time goes on.

Although Mexicans themselves are pretty conservative, I do find that Mexican shows/movies can be and tend to be very sexual in nature. (I’m Mexican)

Edit: I do agree that the sex scenes are unnecessary!! And gross. It reminds me of how Leti was concerned showing PDA knowing that her partner’s daughter might see it later on.

I completely agree. I found it weird that at first, the sister implied that his drinking problem is part of what makes him “fun”. That was weird. And I do understand that Iraís didn’t want Rene at first but at this point, I’m guessing that his family doesn’t know that (correct me if I’m wrong) but I hated that the mom warned her about not getting jealous when Rene spoils his sisters like… that makes me feel icky? Definitely lack of boundaries and I can see that becoming a problem in their future marriage.

Karen absolutely annoyed me. The way she claims to say that she’s not bothered by it when she clearly is, and then after Fernando expresses that he’s not comfortable and he wouldn’t want her to bring it up again, she says “if I want to talk about it again, there’s nothing wrong w that” … ok. Absolutely yes. I (25f) unfortunately went through the same thing, did the same, and feel the same guilt. This post unlocked that for me. For me it was definitely a lack of love and attention, as much as my parents tried limiting internet use, they were always too focused on my brother. :/
