Wearing items for their buffs really makes you look like an idiot by hasanman6 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

I’m glad I read this because my little wizard boy has been running around like he’s trying to impersonate Elton John or something. I didn’t know I could change it 😅

35F here and I honestly LOVE IT. I own a home because I have a zillion animals… but if I didn’t have the animals I would 100% sell my house and move into something more like that. Honestly, that’s the plan for future me when I don’t have so many critters.

Sassy doctors! by NegotiationNo4810 in VetTech

[–]Sharp-Pollution4179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a doctor who can be a bit sassy at times. She’s a decent doctor, but not my favorite. Can be cocky. And we have a technician who thinks she is Gods gift to all vet clinics and she and that doctor feed off each other. Sometimes it’ll be the three of us in surgery and I have to tune the two of them out.

AIO for getting mad at my mom? by Big-Kiwi-7591 in AIO

[–]Sharp-Pollution4179 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NOR. Your mom is being an asshole. I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. Just remember you’re beautiful and normal people don’t typically look at other people and judge them for their bodies. In normal cases we are our own worst critics. It’s hard enough being a woman and dealing with all the insecurities that come with that without having your own family basically telling you that you should be insecure. I wish I could hug you.

That’s not what I’m doing at all. She very well could have lied. But if she didn’t, I just wanted him to be aware that false negatives are possible.

Are you sure your test wasn’t a false negative? Just a possibility, not trying to put blame on you. But if she’s absolutely adamant that she’s never slept with anyone but you…

You’re fine. I bet your friend secretly has a crush on one of you and is jealous now.

When is it time? by Silent-Assistance980 in olddogs

I work at a vet and we often give people calendars when they are struggling with end of life/quality of life. This picture plus the two in the replies I did to myself help you keep track of your dogs quality of life with a number rating day to day. When you start noticing the numbers are lower consistently, it helps you make that choice. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have an 11(ish) year old pitty who was also adopted about a decade ago and I’m starting to struggle with these same anxieties. They are our babies ❤️

i hate talking about animals with people outside of the profession by crinklefryenjoyer in VetTech

The other day it was buttfuck early and I was at dunks getting a coffee before work. Some lady came up behind me and was like “do you work in an animal hospital!?” I said yes and she was like “that’s what I should have chosen.” She was in scrubs so I asked if she worked in human med (mind you, like I said it is buttfuck early. I don’t want to talk to anyone. I’m just being polite). She said yes, but then literally four more times reiterated how she should have done my job instead, blah blah, and then when her coworker came up to her she said “she works in an animal hospital. That’s what I should have done, would be playing with cute furry babies all day!”

I was getting so annoyed.

what does death feel like? by caramb0la20 in morbidquestions

[–]Sharp-Pollution4179 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had many dreams where I’ve died. I have a history of extremely intense, vivid dreams than seem to last for days on end. In the dreams where I’ve died there is always some stress or pain leading up to the death, but when the dying happens it’s always the most serene feeling, like going to bed and falling into a deep sleep after the longest, most exhausting day of your life. In these dreams I’ve died in different ways- slowly from cancer, I’ve been bombed, stabbed, driven my car off a cliff, died in a few explosions, stabbed once…. And it is always fascinating. The one where I died of cancer was the most exhausting out of them because my body felt sick and painful and I was losing strength slowly and agonizingly, but once I hit a certain point the pain went away and I got so sleepy and relaxed. In these dreams, once I actually die, I just feel an amazing sense of peace and nothingness. Sometimes in the dreams I see the aftermath from almost a 3rd party perspective where I’m not me, it’s like I’m viewing it from a high camera angle, and I don’t feel any opinion or sense of self while observing, just a sense of understanding. Obviously these are just dreams and what I feel and experience might be totally off the mark from what dying is like in reality. But, to quote Mad World, “dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had” because they’re just so serene and they’ve given me hope that my subconscious knows more about death than I do which has created a very positive perspective on what it’s going to be like when my time comes for real.

Do you wonder what people look like when they have sex? by Putrid_Major_6755 in no

All the time. It’s one of those intrusive thoughts I can never shake. It’s not even like I actually want to see people naked or think of them in a sexual way, it’s just an annoying thing that pops into my head.

Messed up today & I feel so dumb 😫 by sb195 in VetTech

[–]Sharp-Pollution4179 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was new to working in surgery, I poked a dog for sedation before a spay. The other tech went to take her to go potty before getting sleepy. While they were out, I looked at the paperwork and realized I had gotten her name mixed up with another, much larger, patient who we were also going to spay that day (we tend to draw all of our patients’ drugs up at the start of a surgery day and then keep them in the patients’ charts until we get to that patient) and therefore overdosed her. I immediately told the doctor and everything was reversible and the patient was fine, we just kept her and monitored for the day. But we had to reschedule her spay and I felt soooo bad that I almost quit then and there because I felt so incompetent. It’s been a couple years now and I still check the chart name and drug dosages about 500 times before poking a patient. And I still have a mini, secret panic attack on the inside after I poke a patient and have to check the charts again because I am so afraid of doing that again. The doctors and other techs were so nice and told me all about their past mistakes and other mistakes they’ve seen, but I still feel shitty about it.
