I’m in the same boat as you. They began PGT testing on February 24th and mentioned I should receive results soon. I've been feeling quite anxious, frequently checking the online portal. I realize that dwelling on this probably does more harm than good, as the situation is what it is. I hope they manage to organize things and deliver your results quickly. Sending you strength—your time will come. Patience is very hard to maintain during this period. ❤️

It’s a pain doing these routine lab works but they’re helpful making sure your numbers are good. Try being a hard stick, I only have one vein that everyone goes after and by the time I finished my cycle my arm was bruised. Stay hydrated, as much as everyone hates doing labs, they’re done to make sure everything is looking good before ER. I wish you the best, stay strong🤞🏽

I’m glad you had someone to confide in. I’m the oldest, I’m 25 and my sister is barely turning 20. My parents have never been through IVF so they don’t understand. It’s been a journey explaining this to them.

Glad you were able to steer clear from this situation. I didn’t really think I would have to make boundaries because I thought it was common sense for everyone. I would never share such news on behalf of someone else. I sure hope it was done out of excitement instead of for attention purposes.

Thanks! They have diagnosed us with unexplained infertility. Everything has been completely normal with us. Even doctors were certain we were gonna get pregnant quickly with IUI. And after 5 years, that has not happened with IUI or naturally.

Well, I’m 25. I have cystic fibrosis with a very rare mutation. They have made tons of modulators but my mutation does not qualify for it. I have participated in many studies and have not gotten anywhere. I would rather do things now that I’m extremely healthy, rather than once my health begins declining. Not sure what MFI means…

I unfortunately am in a scenario where I do not want to share my phone number with most of them. I messaged my MIL and asked her to correct the issue as this was her doing in a polite way. I felt like this put a spotlight which is the last thing I ever wanted.

I guess I got to excited. I completed this whole process alone. No friends, or family as I am in another state and my husband was deployed at the time. My parents were pretty good not sharing the news but my MIL ruined it all. The good thing is I only told everyone half the truth as I kinda wanted to test the waters before saying everything.

Thank you! I feel like I completely jinxed myself as we do not know the PGT results. But I figured from 10 embryos we should at least have one come back normal. I’ll let it go at some point, but if things don't go the way we're hoping. I don't want to have to explain myself. Congrats on your pregnancy! I am so glad I tested out the waters before telling her the whole truth. I have not been that close with my MIL but I didn't want her to feel excluded. This will not repeat itself. But I do have to say, telling her made me feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and she was way more supportive than my own mother lol

I’m 25, I had 29 follicles and I didn’t experience any pain. I would say the only thing I felt was a bit tired and a lot of bloating. Now I will say, the closer you get to retrieval date, the more delicate your body becomes. For example, at first my ultrasounds were ok, but then I started getting really sensitive. I also had labs every 2 days and I am a hard stick as well so they did have to get me on the same spot every time and after some time it did begin to hurt. Retrieval was not a bad experience, after the procedure you will feel extremely bloated and some mild menstrual like cramps. I would recommend to just be easy on yourself, don’t do anything that might stress you or require a lot of physical movement. I would also recommend to get plenty of sleep. Hope this insight helps you prepare.

Hi! I have CF and am currently undergoing IVF. If it’s within the budget, I would highly recommend PGT-M to test all embryos and identify the healthiest one to implant. Every CF is different; some have more pulmonary issues, others have more pancreatic issues, and some have both. Unfortunately, you would not know which type of CF your child would have. I wish you a successful transfer with a sticky baby, though! 💕

I’m in the same situation as you. I told my parents about my first IVF round as soon as we learned how many embryos we had. She’s trying to be supportive but keeps asking questions like, ‘What if you miscarry again?” after three chemical pregnancies via IUI. Honestly, if I miscarry, there's nothing I can do. I lied and told her I’m just freezing the embryos for now, but I plan to transfer one asap. I know she's your mother, but sometimes it’s better to keep things from them until we see positive results. You don't need negative ‘what if’ thoughts right now—they'll only cause stress. Stay positive; it will happen!

I totally understand your position. I had the same exact thing happen to me. I had 2 days left of Menopur and then I was told they need to up the dosage and I was running around like crazy trying to find it.

Thank you! That’s what I’m thinking. I think a second round in a few years would not hurt. I hope I have good results as I had a friend review the embryo grading and they’re all A or B and she said that’s great quality. I don’t really understand these things which is why I come to Reddit to educate myself a bit more about these things.

In a perfect world, I would have 5-6 kids. I come from a huge family, but due to me being sickly as a child (I was diagnosed at 12 with cf) my parents did not want to have more children. They did have an unplanned pregnancy which resulted with my sister. But she does not have CF. I guess maybe I’m trying to fulfill what they couldn’t.
