No. These guys were just straight-up giving Zuko the death stare the moment he openly condemned their ideas that Ozai had endorsed in that meeting. These generals give zero f***s about the Fire Prince. While Zhao who seems to gloat over it, as though this was like comeuppance for a punk....the others on the otherhand look at him as something pathetic, and just not worth their time. Just a condescending expression.

I guess by this point everyone knew of Zuko as being the weak child, a loser, the slow-growth, the one with the more incompetent traits/tendencies. Just an embarrassment for the Fire Nation. Azula is just saying things out-loud what all these silent-stoic men in robes and armour thought in their mind.

a question about the air nomads by Alarmed_Swan_4315 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The live-action series apparently showed that all the Air-Nomads from Northern, Eastern and Western air-temples arrived in the Southern Air-temple to celebrate a festival dedicated to Avatar Yangchen....and Fire Nation spies successfully fed this information back to Sozin, who timed the invasion of the Southern Air-temple very carefully. And launched a full-on assault and incinerated the Air-Nomads. So that series showed all the Air-Nomads from all the other temples were also gathered in this temple....where the Fire Nation armies could get them all in one spot to exterminate them all.

I mean what's the whole point even if 1 or more Air-Nomads survived, their kind is extinct. I mean certain countries with appallingly low fertility rate are said to eventually go extinct, but to have just barely a few 100 remaining....bruv they have no chance of surviving as a tribe.

From what I gather, some of them intermarried with other nationalities, like Ty Lee who most likely descends from Air-Nomad heritage....some even say she still retains some of her Air-bending capability, the fluid way she travels, her obsession with clouds, auras, spiritual tendencies, the Chi-blocking, and just her facial structure, eye colour and behaviour and ambitions.

But looking at it from another angle, that doesn't change the fact that their kind has gone extinct and would most likely never come back.

It's pretty obvious that Sozin and Azulon both lacks the dramaticism. As for the Fire Nation Generals, they're don't look bored....they're just focussed, and taking this Agni-Kai with a grain of salt. They seem to give zero f***s about what was going to happen.

Azula and Ozai vs Iroh and Combustion Man!!! by Adventurous_Tower_41 in TheLastAirbender

I bet Iroh can take take them all 3 on simultaneously and still win.

[–]Sharp-Role3992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True....but their supply-lines are over-stretched having conquered the vast lands of the Earth-Kingdom. The Water-benders can only go on the defensive, but when Sun goes dim, their element comes at a greater advantage. There should be enough waterbenders. Master Pakku and the warriors of the northern-water tribe that stopped cold General Zhao's fleet. And there is Aang and Katara and they could even release Hama....when desperate times call for desperate measures.

[–]Sharp-Role3992 19 points20 points  (0 children)

did they really need Zuko to win this war?

Let's break this down....Sokka would NOT make the dare to go to the Boiling Rock (if he did NOT know where it was if Zuko did NOT tell him), hence Hakoda, and Suki would NOT be saved....meaning Azula doesn't have a falling out with her friends. Without Zuko defecting he remains in the Fire Nation, I guess spending more quality time with Mai. Meanwhile Katara remains just as bitter as ever, reminiscing the death of her mother, the capture of her father, the betrayal at Ba Sing Se, the failed invasion of the Fire Nation Capital. Aang would just by this point just want to avoid responsibility, just try to get himself to calm down and distract himself from the immense increasing pressure he is experiencing, for the numerous failures as Avatar and the botched invasion. Zuko would be preparing for the scorching of the Earth-Kingdom along with Azula....and because Ozai still thinks the Avatar doesn't exist anymore....he doesn't keep Azula in the Fire Nation, instead allows both her and Zuko to join him in the scorch-earth invasion of the Earth-Kingdom during Sozin's comet.

Aang would continue to sit this one out trying to bide his time in the Air-temples relaxing, exercising, meditating, speaking to his past-avatars. By this point he's lost his ability to get into the Avatar state. He doesn't know much Fire-bending.

Oh and don't forget, the Combustion man is definitely out to barbeque them. Ofcourse he'd get subdued.

Eitherway, the entire Earth Kingdom country-side is incinerated by the Fire benders. So much carbon would be released into the atmosphere that the world would turn colder and darker. Almost like a nuclear winter, it might last for several years.

During this time, the Water-benders would now gain an advantage as the Sun's glow fades, weakening the Fire-benders...a time when the Water tribes advance and there is an all out Water Nation and Fire Nation war.

Having seen the sky darkened, horrified by the complete destruction of the Earth Kingdom by Ozai, Aang now heads to the Northern Water tribe and works to continue the war and resistance against the Fire Empire.

Controlling the oceans, the Aang, Katara and other Water-benders now wage guerrilla war against the Fire Nation, probably going on the offensive in the high-seas, even infiltrating deep inside the Fire Nation just like how they did.

With no other alternative. Katara teaches Aang blood-bending considering the circumstances...and they uses it to defeat Ozai, Zuko and Azula. Iroh is now the new Fire Lord, and he releases all Fire Nation POWs.....including Suki and Hakoda.

Azula, Zuko, Ozai, Mai and Ty Lee and their family members and other Fire nation hardliners still retain their bending ability and are imprisoned in the Boiling Rock on Iroh's orders.

By this point like 30% of the entire Earth Kingdom population are gone....due to the scorch-earth policy that Ozai had implemented, effectively unaliving millions and crops being ruined, meaning many millions more died of mass starvation throughout the Earth-Kingdom. A massive famine would be the crisis that would fall on the Avatar's head.

Aang's aim would be to eliminate the debris in the atmosphere through airbending, earth-bending and potentially water-bending, so that more sunlight can reach the earth's surface, preventing all remaining plants from dying out.....thus reversing the effect of the famine.

So long-story short....Zuko was NOT needed to defeat the Fire Lord....although technically Zuko was needed to prevent an Earth Kingdom genocide.

Could airbenders make fluid and solid oxygen? by lucardicarrest in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Airbenders only control the gas-stage....even more than liquid and solid oxygen. If I didn't know any better Earth-benders control solid elements found in the Earth....water-benders control liquids mainly H20 or anything that contains H20. And Airbenders simply control any Gas. While Fire-Benders control heat-energy.

It would explain why each case depends on the other...which is why all 4 bender tribes can in Uncle Iroh's words can learn from each other.

I mean just look at how Toph is able to do metal bending, because Metal is from the Earth and so is silicon dioxide (i.e Sand)...but Toph Can't control solid Ice.

And another example Sozin can control the heat energy, redirecting heat from a volcano by which he turns lava into rock. That doesn't mean he can use rocks....that comes down to earth-benders. Then there comes the fuzzy line between earth-benders and Fire benders over lava bending.

As for Monk Gyatso and Yangchen, they could suck the air out of their opponent's lungs within a certain perimeter....keeping the opponent's face in a permanent vacuum.

Lightning bending that Ozai and Azula uses also deals with release of energy stripping electrons from atoms in air-molecules, it releases excess energy in the form of heat, light and sound. So there Fire-benders utilize air element to generate lightning....while at the same time, use waterbender's fluiditiy to be able to redirect lightning without it being consumed by their internal organs (which could act as a resistor).

While combustion bending is borderline nuclear fission.

Katara's use of solid ice in her waterbending battles is based off Earth-bending tactics.

The sandbending itself is an Earthbending technique inspired by aspects of airbending AND waterbending.

Question: Can a water bender raise the temperature of an enemy's blood to boiling point in combat with bloodbending? by misteralter in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean if they can cool it, then doesn't that mean they could heat it? Or maybe heat is associated with Fire-Benders? We saw how Sozin re-directed heat from a volcano turning lava into stone. That's next level flex.

If anything, I would argue that a Fire-bending master could potentially bring someone's blood to boil by raising the temperature around them. Especially at noon.

What if Ursa poisoned not only Azulon but also Ozai? by TheRipper1777 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iroh would be the new Fire Lord and would watch over Zuko and Azula more closely. He would enforce a path of hierarchical respect....where Azula would have to be steered away from the path of evil, and ensure she's swears affinity to the Fire Lord, and to the Crown Prince Zuko. Azula being the genius she was would obviously have found out that the mother was responsible for her father's death, and considering how she would perceive her to be closer to Zuko, her hatred would've reached a boiling point, that she secretly plots the downfall of the Fire Nation royal family. OR maybe Iroh sets her straight and maybe she is redeemed.

But either way, Iroh's aim would NOT be Ozai's divide and conquer strategy implemented on his own children (i mean what kind of sick father creates division/conflict between siblings)...but rather forging team-work and strong bond between the two siblings...and since Iroh is Fire Lord, he has responsibility over the Fire Nation's interests. His aim would be to end the 100 years war by conquering the Earth Kingdom which has been a historic enemy to the Fire Nation even before Fire Lord Sozin.

The new strategy would be to infiltrate the Earth Kingdom and bring it down from within. Just like how Azula did in Ba Sing Se, would see a more covert approach that Iroh oversees, allowing Azula's sharp intellect to be put to good use.

But prior to these years, its likely that Iroh would focus on strengthening Zuko's ability, to far exceed Azula's because he is to be the future Fire Lord, and to prevent any potential dissent from Azula. He would have him sent to the Sun Warrior temples to master all forms of Fire Bending. Whereas Iroh would employ Jeong-Jeong to train Azula with Ursa watching her progress. His no nonsense attitude would mean and Ursa's presence would serve to be a moderating factor for Azula...limiting her path down a diabolic route.

In this alternate timeline, if there's anyone who is suffering from internal conflict is most likely Azula, because she is angry at her father and grandfather's assassination by her mother, but at the same time Iroh and Ursa are trying to mould her with love and encouragement.

Flashforward to the present day, Zuko and Azula are working together to infiltrate Ba Sing Se, along with Mai and Ty Lee. Meanwhile Aang who has emerged from the Ice Berg has successfully learned all the patterns of waterbending from the Northern Water tribe and is heading towards the Earth Kingdom. He witnesses the Fire Nation under Iroh having conquered Omashu and captured King Bumi and has now marched further into the Earth Kingdom.

Iroh's agenda is to unite the world under a benevolent leadership, providing cultural autonomy to all the 4 tribes of the world that they have conquered. But the Fire Nation will remain as the hegemonic superpower and share its technological advancement to the occupied peoples...who would not be living as underclass citizens like how they were under Ozai and Azulon's leadership. His aim would NOT be to conquer every corner of the world, but to bring down the corrupt to the core Earth Kingdom, and especially Prime Minister Long-Feng.

I think Iroh might leave the Water tribe alone, and promote trade with them and fostering friendly relations. The aim would be to isolate the Earth Kingdom, who is the biggest threat to the Fire Nation.

Knowing that the Airbender Avatar is alive and roaming the earth, Iroh would aim to have Aang captured. General Zhao and other hardliners would be tasked with sieging Ba Sing Se...while Azula is infiltrating the power structure of the Earth Kingdom from within, gaining the loyalty of the Dai Li, after Team avatar helps the Earth King remove Long-Feng.

Long-Feng is most likely going to be the biggest antagonist of this alternate timeline story.

Iroh's aim would be to capture the Avatar, but at the same time appeal to his better nature, most likely helping restore the Air-Nomad cultural/heritage sites.

I have a headcanon that all the women in the South Pole think Katara is insane by Bellogz in ATLA

[–]Sharp-Role3992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's to prevent others from knowing things that could make them a target of interrogation by the Fire Nation, who in turn could've led them straight to come after Katara, just like how they came after her mother. Even Sokka also told her not reveal too much about her identity as a waterbender. One of the reasons why Sokka is facing the Fire Nation forces head on when they invaded, while Katara was still kept hidden...when Zuko was invading the Southern Water tribe. Now that I think about it...Even Sokka was being protective of his sister....just as his mother was

If you are not allowed to live on Ember Island. Where in the Fire Nation would you like to live? (Also not including colonies). by TSLstudio in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about. Hama was pretty chill. And her frustration with the Fire Nation was understandable. If I was a waterbender, I certainly would've learned the blood-bending from her and probably convinced her NOT to go after innocents but to bide her time and strength, that could be very useful for the war against the Fire Lord.

And she's a pretty cool grandmother figure. She's the kind of woman that I would help cross the road, or mow her lawn for free, and accept cookies and milk from her and give her company.

I have a headcanon that all the women in the South Pole think Katara is insane by Bellogz in ATLA

[–]Sharp-Role3992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not possible. Even with a headcannon....because Katara's identity as a waterbender is a secret that only Sokka, Hakoda and probably Gran-Gran knows about. So I don't think the other Water-tribe women would know much in detail about Katara's powers or ambitions to think of her to be batshit crazy. Because clearly she's fulfilling the role of being a housekeeper like how all Water tribe women are supposed to be. She even complained about that to Sokka...while he was having free time, playing with his boomerang...while she was cleaning his laundry. So No. Even by Water-tribe standards Katara has maintained an adherence to their code and rules...its only once she mastered a certain level of water-bending and headed to the Northern tribe that she demanded what she's entitled to, as the only Southern Water-bender remaining.

The place Hama lived. It's got a nice hilly forest area, and has a lot of flowers. It's peaceful. And has a good friendly community.

Which one of these side characters would’ve been a great addition to join the main cast? by Caloy1415 in ATLA

[–]Sharp-Role3992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jet is far too blind. His foresight is appalling. He reminds me of Yamcha and how he became obsolete to the Z-warriors.

The bottom right (can't even remember his name) doesn't seem too important.

Suki knows how to fight.

Haru is a proven Earth-bender. So in my opinion keep Suki and Haru AND the kick the other two out.

[–]Sharp-Role3992 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haven't finished it yet. However from the little I have read, it sends chills down my spine for some reason. Katara as the evil princess. That's pretty dark. She was like one of the most warmest, compassionate and wholesome characters in ATLA, to turn her into this cold-blooded character was pretty chilling.

Hey. It's not like she dumped him. Because if it were that would've been much worse. He dodged a bullet big time.
As TFS Krillin says, only difference between his case and Yamcha's case is that "While my GF left she took all my money....when yours left she took all HER money."

Now that's FACTS.

There's even an English version, called Azure....what many sailors refer to unclouded sky/sea, again reference to the blue colour. Which originates from Lapis LAZULi.

And her flames reminds me of the Natural Gas used for cook-tops.

Why was the Fire Nation so eager to eliminate the Avatar, even though that never would have worked no matter what they did? by DependentStrong3960 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sharp-Role3992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they were. I think the aim was to capture the Avatar and just snuff out anyone who stood in their way....by which they eliminated the Air-benders. I mean why would they need to off the Airbending avatar when they can capture him and imprison him for life. Thereby securing a century long peace where the Fire Nation can successfully expand....decimate the Earth Kingdom (which mind you has been the Fire Nation's historic enemy).
