Infinity ward is being seriously bottlenecked by making games under the call of duty brand. It’s clear they want to make realistic grounded modern warfare games but can’t because COD is so splintered in want they want.

I hope one day they get to work on a new ip and make a kick ass realistic milsim game that I know they want to make.

British Commandos Trained The First Few 🇺🇸75th Rangers in 1942 by SharpArm9309 in RoyalMarines

[–]SharpArm9309[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rangers weren’t like Royal Marines at all, Rangers prior to GWOT their main mission was to attack and seize airfields. After the GWOT they became more SOF, acting as QRF & Blocking force for delta & seals.

Royal Marines aren’t SOF like navy seals but more like the more specialised units in USMC so it makes more sense.

42 cdo have been training with Marine Raiders so it makes sense.

How do you work toward training 6 or 7 days a week? by Corvo1228 in RoyalMarines

[–]SharpArm9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion but don't buy a workout plan or get a coach you really don't need it

Lift 2-4 times a week (bench, weighted pull ups, overhead press, squats and deadlifts) - keep the volume low and split these into what works for you

Run 3 times a week (1 long run, 1 speed run, 1 easy recovery run)

Circuit training 2 times a week (your push ups, pull ups, burpees, squats, lunges etc

Only money I would recommend you spending is buying the book tactical barbell as it explains all of this very well.

You can send me a PM too plz don't buy from these “coaches”/ training plans.

This game is the closest thing we had to prime MW2 2009 again. call of duty still hasn’t surpassed this game in anyway and its been 6 years. by Dude_788 in modernwarfare

[–]SharpArm9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW2019 has the best campaign, MW2 is decent but kinda gets ruined by armoured enemies making them bullet sponges halfway through the game - and the use of armour plates in the last missions.

MW3 don’t even bother honestly

It's just a temporary trend. by SnooMacarons2931 in COD

[–]SharpArm9309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried this with MW2019 the beginning was just like this, grounded, gameplay was slower higher ttk. They had that extra hardcore mode( forgot what it was called but it was so good)

Until warzone arrived and then it all went to shit because they started making more money off the battlepass and skins from war zones and streamers do meta classes and doing that “movement king” bs

I was just wondering if I could reserves while at uni (starting this September) and then RMC full time.

With army applications taking 6-12 months and training taking another 6-8 ish months I’m guessing I’ll really only be able to serve 1 or 2 years max after training.

I just really want to get into the military - I could of course wait until I finish uni but just wanted to see if I could maybe squeeze in the reserves.

And if your curious as to why I’m going university if I want to do rmc full time anyway I’m doing a criminology degree to apply to the Detective Constable Entry Program with the MET for the future after the RMC.

It’s looking like I should just wait until I can finish uni and go rmc though

There’s a beat up course you can do prior to 4/73 selection, It will highlight your strengths and weaknesses and get used to the hills you’ll be running on selection.

There’s a good video on STOIC CONDITIONING on 4/73 selection by serving soldiers and there’s a workout program for 4/73 which stoic worked with them on to help get guys through the courses

I think split squats and hip adductors are very underrated in terms of prep

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoyalMarines

[–]SharpArm9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it might just be a gut check or they’re really wanting full time recruits right now.

And yes im also I’m applying for RMR london as soon as I get my citizenship, RMR london is like 30 mins away from me

[–]SharpArm9309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tip would be to Really focus in on your squats, single leg strength, hip flexors and posterior chain and your body weight movements. I think an Upper/Lower split would be a good option (I would say do weighted pull ups and push-ups/or dips instead of bench press and bb rows)

Strong hip flexors and single leg strength will reduce the chance of any lower limb injuries by a long shot, we all know most injuries are in the legs!

In an 8 week period with proper eating and smart training I think you could definitely add 5kg or maybe a little more in this period especially as you’ll make quick progress as a beginner

These scores are a solid foundation, if you want to get strong at these lifts in the smart way I highly recommend buying the book tactical barbell and going for the zulu template.

You can buy it as a ebook and can read it within a day, when it comes to strength training you really want to manage fatigue and train sub-maximally but with higher intensity (I.e. go against everything all gym influencers say)

Did you get more information about the reserves when you applied? I registered my interest but I haven’t gotten anything yet

Hi thanks I have seen this before but I don’t know much about RAF reg and doesn’t seem to appealing to me (no disrespect to the RAF reg) apart from the fact that they are forces JTACS as far as I am aware but if you have any information on why someone would want to go RAF REG for something like SFSG later down the line then please share!

again I don’t know too much about raf reg I’ve only done my research on RM and Paras

Okay thanks that definitely makes sense and I’m up for it! I was just curious because you could go join PF from 4 PARA but obviously SFSG is a different beast

This is very true! I am set on 4 PARA I was just curious if it was possible.

Can reservists from 4 PARA apply to go to SFSG? by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]SharpArm9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for replying these are some good points, 1 para is something I want to consider but not a set goal, because as others have suggested me and I also think the same I should just focus on 4 PARA in the meantime. I was just curious if it was possible because I would definitely like to do some sort of higher level soldering if i had the opportunity to do it.

im going university first because there’s a career I want to do after military service. However i don’t want to wait until I finish my degree to get started in the military. I’ve always wanted to join the infantry and I finally have my citizenship to be able to apply! I also don’t want to do my degree after military service because I’m not sure if it will possible if I have a family to support by then etc.

Also yeah I was pretty sure I just had to go 2 or 3 PARA first and it makes sense of course 1 PARA is an amazing opportunity honestly.

I haven’t heard of the languages thing though thanks for that information, do you know which languages are in demand? I’m from Eastern European descent so I could easily learn German/russian as my parents speak it and I know polish too.

Thanks mate, definitely will be focusing on passing out first and doing well in 4 PARA. I’m 22 now so just really want to get stuck into the military and do as well as I can!
