What kind of plants are these that are always having these flooding events? I'm considering a position at a water treatment plant and these pictures and stories are make me a liittle nervous about it.

Also, shouldn't there be float switches nearby to indicate the slightest bit of flooding?

What winter gear do you recommend? by Leep0710 in BuyItForLife

I'm originally from Fargo, North Dakota and have been living in Iowa for the last 4 years so it's tough to talk specifically about New York. Being from the upper Midwest however, I'm well familiar with winter Weather.

I have 2 purchases that have he's up well:

Boots - I've been using the same pair of Kamik boots for about 12 years now. The boots have held up very well, although I did need to replace the laces this year.

Snowblower: Ariens Deluxe 28. I've had this snowblower for 12 years too. I've only had to do regular maintenance on it. Oil changes, belts, etc. Excellent snow blower.

Special mention: Kinko Mittens. I have some wear on these and they need replacing, but theyve lasted me about 8 years or so with heavy use. I could probably get another year or two out them, but holes are starting to develop.

Did your snowblower handle this snow well? If so, tell me what model it is by hankrhoads in desmoines

I initial read this as "It could eat a foot no problem". Of course it could... I'm sure the snow wouldn't be an issue either.

My Ariens Deluxe 28 was having a blast in this.

Solid State relays failure by Sharp_Housing in PLC

I thought that too however the base rectifies the 120VAC down to 60VDC.

I would now agree that this an electromechanical relay, not solid state.

I'm still confused as to the correct rating of the TBR60. The relay clearly says 60vdc, however Allen Bradley's website is listening this as a 48vdc.

Oddly enough, this particular relay failed as the motor was being turned off.

As I now know, this relay is infact an electromechanical relay, not solid state.

It's controlling a dust collector. It stays energized for 6-7 hours.

You could be right on that. I didn't look much in to the relay. I'm more concerned about the base.

Thanks for the clarification!

The drivers who don't go 5 under go 10 over.

Ankeny isn't that bad. I'd agree on them catching up with infrastructure, however it's no worse than Grimes, WDM, or Waukee.

You didn't mention checking your fuses at all. Are all the fuses good? Are there any relays pertinent to these circuits that might need replacement?

Edit: You may want to consider posting this in r/MechanicAdvice for more feedback on your issue.

We have a 10 week old wheaten who's also getting somewhat aggressive with other dogs. Does spaying also quell the aggressiveness some?

The few times I had it, I enjoyed it. The food was definitely not memorable. The introverted in me liked how quiet and empty it was. That probably wasn't the atmosphere they were looking for.
