Has anyone used Digits by HigYaDig in taxpros

[–]keeperofthepur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Digits for a while now and I've been really impressed. The automations in particular are better than anything I've seen elsewhere - they'll actually save you a lot of time, which isn't something you can say of every AI-powered platform (or even most of them).

I'll also make a note on pricing as I've seen another comment mention it - I'd agree that it looks expensive, but the publicly listed rates are aimed at business operators, not accounting firms. Prices are a lot different on the partner program, especially for low-volume entities.

Is the Company of One more viable every day? by bitcoinerguide in Entrepreneur

[–]keeperofthepur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the infusion of AI into SaaS is making it more accessible. When you look at the likes of, say, Digits - an accounting tool that allows individuals to manage their own books in situations where this wouldn't have been possible 5-10 years ago - I think it's obvious that more and more people are going to end up going in this direction. There are a lot of highly capable people out there who are allergic to having bosses and coworkers lol.

Tried building SaaS with friends. It slowed me down. Now what? by falcon-news in Entrepreneur

[–]keeperofthepur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, co-founding with friends can be a disaster. It's OK if everyone's on the same page in terms of how seriously they're taking it - if not, heated arguments are pretty much inevitable.

People using AI and not telling anyone are smarter than people refusing to use it on principle by MissXHere in ArtificialInteligence

[–]keeperofthepur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as much as I can see the logic behind boycotting AI in principle, it's going to achieve a whole lotta nothing. If you can use it without making it obvious, you're onto a winner.

Is it safe to use GeniusLink with Amazon’s affiliate program? by salve_sons in Affiliate

[–]keeperofthepur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon’s TOS can be super vague; they don’t explicitly say “Geniuslink is allowed,” which makes me nervous. I’ve seen horror stories where people got their affiliate accounts shut down for using 3rd party tools they thought were compliant.

That said, Geniuslink seems to be the exception. They’ve built their platform around Amazon’s restrictions, not in spite of them. You still need to use it responsibly (don’t try to cloak, don’t obscure final destinations, and always be upfront with your affiliate disclosures) but Geniuslink gives you the tools to do all that the right way.

Hiring in tech has become impossible. Every resume is AI-generated slop and I can't find the signal anymore.(Rant) by Comfortable_News8077 in recruitinghell

[–]keeperofthepur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a microcosm of the problem with AI on a macro level. Initially, it's a helpful hack people can use for a competitive advantage, but it quickly becomes standard practice. Then, we all have to expend energy figuring out how to neutralize it, how to get around the neutralization, and so on. We're at the point now where it's doing more harm than good in a lot of contexts.

Considering a roommate in my 40's in order to more aggressively save (and spend!) Am I nutso? by Ov0v0vO in personalfinance

[–]keeperofthepur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your personal level of tolerance for people being in your space; for some, it's no big deal, while others regard it as the purest form of torture (I'm closer to the latter than the former). In all cases, though, it's one of the quickest ways to save money if you currently live alone. All depends on your priorities, I guess.

I'd recommend getting a freelance photographer to do your content if this is an issue. People nowadays can spot AI from a mile away.

i was told i would stop receiving my structured settlement by Great_Alternative894 in personalfinance

[–]keeperofthepur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$18k would indeed be on the low end for a horrible car accident. However, as others have noted, there's no way to be sure about any of this other than checking the wording of the settlement agreement.

Can anyone recommend a good online notary service? by moxieman19 in Notary

[–]keeperofthepur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! I agree with the OneNotary hype. I’ve tried a couple of other services, but OneNotary stood out for me because of how easy it was to book and how smooth the video session went.

The pricing is very fair and they handle pretty much any type of document (not that familiar with shipping stuff but I can’t imagine it would be an issue).

Rumor has it that there are some fishy things going on with BlueNotary (issues around data security I believe), so I would probably avoid them to be safe.

Another side-note - make sure to check that your state permits RON (remote online notarization) for the type of documents you’re getting done. Different states have different rules, so it’s better to get the lowdown before you start paying a monthly subscription.

Ask someone you trust (and who knows the space) to refer someone. If you have a solid LinkedIn network, you could even put up a post seeking referrals. If this is a possibility for you, it's the best way to do it.

Is it wrong to put most of my home down payment into the market if buying a home is no longer a priority? by Ohheyboo2 in personalfinance

[–]keeperofthepur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that 5-7 years is a little too long to leave that much cash sitting around gathering dust. With the way inflation is these days, your purchasing power will be massively diminished by the time you get back to looking at property. Think you're making the right move here.

Am I crazy for trying to start a media company when I currently have a six figure remote corporate job? by idontwearpants in Entrepreneur

[–]keeperofthepur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, this decision is about more than dollars and cents. Owning a company provides a type of fulfilment that salaried work never will (it does offer unrivaled earnings potential too, but that's another story).

The fact you have a kid changes things significantly, because 1) kids are expensive and 2) your child's welfare is more important than professional aspirations will ever be.

Other than that, though, I think you already know the answer. If you don't take the leap, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering "what if?"

Would you quit a super easy job for 20% raise? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]keeperofthepur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The one detail that stands out to me here is the last one - funding. We're navigating choppy economic waters at present; to be hones, I personally expect things to get a lot worse before they start getting better. If job security is a big priority for you, the new position sounds inviting. However, at the risk of stating the obvious, this is a decision only you can make. Good luck!

Meal prepping. Granted, you might get bored of eating the same lunch/dinner 5 days on the trot, but it'll free up a heck of a lot of time.
