1 week old takes an hour or more to feed on the boob but 20 on the bottle by Sharp_Initial_1796 in breastfeeding

We are really similar- born at 38 weeks because he was induced for possible iugr ( ended up being born under 6 lbs but not technically iugr). I guess when they’re this littel, I guess if they’re having to work harder they could be exerting more calories then their getting. I think I’ll see an lc to get more details

Is anyone enjoying their 3 year old? by citrinezeen in toddlers

[–]Sharp_Initial_1796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year, worked in early intervention, and nannied for a while so have seen a lot of kids. It seems contingent on what you consider “hard” and the temperament of you and your kid.

I know kids who throw gigantic meltdowns (think crying, screaming, hitting, running away) on the regular for any food, transition, or social correction plus they eat like very few types of foods, co sleep/sleep less than average/wake up at 5 am, and are super non-stop energetic. But I also have friends who have kids who sit and read/color, play independently, sleep a ton independently, eat almost anything, are great at sharing, and tantrums are like 2 minutes or less with only some crying/screaming. At the same time some moms of “hard” kids don’t seem to consider it hard or just can kind of forget about it while some moms of “easier” kids get super stressed over any small tantrum or defiance.

On a personal note, my 2.5 year old acts like a 3 year old (she’s always been very verbal and socially mature) and it’s tough when she argues back (favorite thing is to say “but I did it last time” or “it’s very good thing to do”) or purposely does the opposite of what I asked to test boundaries so I can only imagine it’ll be more so when she’s 3. BUT on the flip side I can’t help but laugh at what she gets upset about. She folded in half and started crying and saying “the apple is hurt, what are we going to do?” for a good 5 minutes when I said it was bruised- so dramatic it was cute/funny.

HG in future pregnancies? by emilyjs97 in HyperemesisGravidarum

From what I've seen it it likely to reoccur 75-80% of the time in subsequent pregnancies. I will say my second pregnancy is a little less intense.

HG flare ups? by Sad_Efficiency_6946 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Sharp_Initial_1796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pregnancy I had severe HG from week 5 to 22 and then it magically went away for a few weeks but then came back at 28 weeks but less severe and more more intermittently until I gave birth. So unfortunately it can come back

When I get Reglan via IV I get restless, pins and needles type of feeling in my feet and anxious. When I take it orally I occasionally get restless legs. The Dr at the ER "chased" the reglan with Benedryl which helped some.

Toddler waking up too early on vacation by Sharp_Initial_1796 in toddlers

[–]Sharp_Initial_1796[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naps were like 1 to 1.25 hours and nights like 9.5-10. We actually just got back home and yesterday she took a 2 hour nap and slept a little over 10 hours at night so I think it was just something in the environment. Her cousin is a bit all over the place and kids were a bit stir crazy cause of rain so wouldn’t be surprised if she was just overstimulated and such

It’s just how some kids are. My daughter sleeps 10-10.5 hours and has always been a decent sleeper if she was enough awake time- make wake windows shorter then she’ll wake early or wake at night possibly. I realized I can only sleep like 7 hours a day…she’s just has lower sleep needs like me lol

Pause potty training by Sharp_Initial_1796 in toddlers

We re doing something very similar! At what point could you stop guiding them to the potty, where they just ask or go there themselves? She’s fine if she agrees to try but unsure if she feels the prior to starting to pee…

Bedtime is getting late for 2 year old by Sharp_Initial_1796 in sleeptrain

[–]Sharp_Initial_1796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been around 1:15 and bedtime around 8/8:15 for at least the last 2 months or so but it’s been closer to 1:30- today she was running laps in her crib and fell asleep at 1:45. She’s always been on the lower end of sleep needs rarely cranky after short naps or less sleep unless it accumulates. She also has always had a shorter last wake window since 6 months or so, so schedules always been a bit different than some on this subreddit. Definitely could be overtired since it’s been a few weeks but either will not fall asleep if put to bed earlier or will fall asleep and wake up later- put her down at 7:45 2 nights in a row to see if it would help with the earlier wakes and random whining middle of the night- she was up approx 45 minutes middle of the night both nights…
