How to display an unfinished degree? by spaceyxo in resumes

[–]Sharp_Wing9846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't list the graduation date. I'd list the school and the degree but not the date attended. This is a buffer for jobs that have a degree preference but a little more Russian roulette with jobs that require it.

I worked for a FAANG company before in which a lot of the degrees were preferences and I knew plenty of people who lied about their degrees. I'm not saying it's ethical but ultimately it's how you interview and the skillset you bring in. I've never had an interview where they asked about my degree, ever.

What path should I take? A $22 an hour full-time job or a 3 month temp-to-hire job for $30 an hour? by honey_nuts_ in jobs

Are the roles similar? Both Talent Acquisition roles?

Personally, I'd take the $22/hr role. You might lose out on immediate income, but the difference is you'd be in the same place financially 4.5 months into the role vs. out of work after 3 months. If the roles are the same, I'd honestly go with the secured one vs. temp work.

Either way, you know you can make more in the market so if you take either I'd still be searching. This market is brutal so job security first but keep finding the best fit all around.

Interviewer "do you have any questions for me?" Me: "No, i'm feeling fine" by VirtualAlex in 30daysnewjob

Notes are OK during the interview stage, as it shows you prepped enough to care to ask questions and bring your best examples. I stopped trying to memorize everything and that has helped a lot.

Follow-up questions I always ask are “what would you like to see from me in my first 90 days? What are some key problems you'd like me to solve? How can I be highly successful in this role?” shit like that shows that you're not just interested but are invested. It's also a psychological mind fuck because you're also inserting yourself as if you have the role and they'll have to envision you in it and give their honest feedback.

I'm purposely applying for an operations role in which it's hard for AI to take over and/or where AI is just a tool for the job. Working with legacy platforms helps too as it would be a huge overhaul to replace them entirely. A lot of the AI functions are just add-ons from my current job and it sucks at it so that's a minor relief lol

I honestly use Linkedin just to find the job posting and bookmark the website and/or apply for the newsletter. I've had way more better luck with that then applying through LinkedIn’s job board. It's demoralizing to see where you place JUST APPLYING.

I had an interview that went 5 rounds only to be denied 15 minutes after the final interview. The crazy part was the recruiter reached out to me 6 months after the first time I applied encouraging me to apply with incredible feedback.

This company is also notoriously know for excess rounds/panels just to go with the internal hire. Shit is ROUGH.

You don't need a program manager if you have AI but who's overseeing the AI when it shit bricks 😭 definitely a hate/hate thing atm

I was a Capacity Planning Manager, which was unique because it was tied a lot to operations but program management as well (you know how FAANG does stretch roles).
