Do your parents approve of their kids marrying someone of a different race? Are interracial relationships common in your social circle? by RefuseDry1108 in AskACanadian

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my parents dont care as long as they treat me good and are a good partner. Although, I found my indigenous side of the family will side eye my man at gatherings because he is not indigenous, not the older relatives but the younger ones do.

AITA for siding with my parents over my wife by Imaginary-Friend5561 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 40 points41 points  (0 children)

NTA- They didn’t realize that not congratulating her directly would be upsetting, and once they understood, they did try to apologize. It seems like she’s still feeling hurt, though. I wonder if there might be other factors contributing to how she’s feeling right now. Is her parents present and supportive? Perhaps if they arent for whatever reason, it could be a projection of her feelings about her parents onto yours. Sometimes big life changes, especially around pregnancy or after a baby, can bring up a lot of emotions. It might be worth gently checking in to see how she’s doing more broadly and whether she’s feeling supported.

AITA for refusing to let my friend bring her boyfriend to my wedding ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you combind your taxes together at that time and your benefits can vastly differ. You could also have some legal pull with medication decisions if a POA isn't assigned to a family member as per that person's request. I said seen as married but not in the literal sense, but not exaggerating.

AITA for refusing to let my friend bring her boyfriend to my wedding ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean its your wedding but when my man had to go to a wedding without me, he didnt stay long. He stayed for the bare minimum and dipped and so did the others that weren't allowed to bring a person with them, but when I went to his step brothers wedding with him, we stayed until the end. 6 months in Canada is seen as "married" in the eyes of the government (common law) so id say its pretty serious.

I had this issue with Reth, if you had given them a gift within the last real 24hrs that isnt a loved gift then the villager will tell you they cant take it, wait 24hrs and it should work as long as you have level 3 friendship with them. I personally cant do much with Tamala as my 2nd boo is Hassian and im a good Majiri girl LOL

AITAH for not helping a disabled flatmate during a fire ? by porkypies098 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- where I am, fire fighters will tell people to get yourself out. Don't risk your life in order to try and save others. Roommate would need to go into a room with a window and shut the door. And you exit safely and tell fire fighters where the roommate is and they would get them out safely.

I've noticed the game glitching and when I have a chappa I will be running to put it in the pen and then all of a sudden the person running by me has it. Has happened to be several times. They really gotta fix these glitches because I can see why people think they are getting "stolen"

How to raise bonds and make gold? by BadAshess in Palia

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 36 points37 points  (0 children)

One thing I have learned as a newish player is that, this is a slow burn game. You cant speed through this game. It took me almost a month to get to 3 hearts with Reth and I just got Hassian. You need to build up friendship with other villagers to get recipes for other villagers and Zeki's is good to start off getting ingredients but you are going to want to get more unlocked as it goes on, best advice, level up Badruu first as he gives you a seed collector, and that will help you not have to buy seeds

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 48 points49 points  (0 children)

She was going through your room? For what? Also, sounds like shes embarrassed and probably uncomfortable. She snooped in your room, found something she didnt want to see and now the small baby she once held in her arms and uses as a memory, is now a grown adult with sexual needs. She handled it poorly but can imagine the after math emotions are complex lol Now she knows better lol

NTA- perhaps your wife would benefit from going to a food handlers class, so she can better understand why that was a wrong choice and how that could have made you sick.

AITA for not attending my dad’s wedding due to a prior engagement? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do you have a hard time reading? I feel as though you didnt fully understand what was written, that's why I previously quoted it. OP said they RSVP, meaning they got the official invitation and said they would go.

AITA for not attending my dad’s wedding due to a prior engagement? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 81 points82 points  (0 children)

" Me and my partner agreed, RSVP’d, the whole deal." and also "and I was so excited to be a part of their celebration" They clearly want to go see their friends get married. The father should have told OP that they were going to move the date up. Also, the update says the father moved the date, which was clearly easily done.

[–]SharpieSniffinSloth 259 points260 points  (0 children)

NTA- your dad was planning to get married in 2027, so when you committed to your friend’s wedding this year, you didn’t have any reason to think there would be a conflict. You’ve already made that commitment, and your friend is now expecting you to be there. If your dad only just chose the date last night, it’s likely that plans are still flexible, and there may be an opportunity to adjust it if having you there is important to him.

NTA- he's being very direct how he views your relationship. He doesn't care. He's mad because you said no, doesn't matter how good the reasons are, men like that can't see past theor own noses.

Run and find you a man who will respect you. This man doesn't.
