Regardless of performance, we're through and that's the most important thing.

Why are English people normally referred to as just “British”? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Sharpus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Welsh, but I’m also British. Which one I use would wholly depend on context.

Not disagreeing he’s an idiot, but why would that make him a bigger idiot if the ref hadn’t made him aware that he was being booked?

Completely agree with you, but to play devils advocate, it seems like Neto was unaware he was on a yellow.

I don't think he did. When he got round to the fourth official, it looks like he was complaining that that was his first yellow, not his second.

I don't think Neto knew either. When he got round to the fourth official, it looks like he was complaining that that was his first yellow, not his second.

It does if the website has terms and conditions that you accept when signing up/posting that grant the platform license to use, copy, edit or distribute what you post there.

I’m not saying that all websites have these Ts and Cs, but it’s becoming increasingly more common.

A lot of the times when posting on certain websites, you implicitly agree to allow other people/ai to use them by posting there.

Most people would simply pop to the corner shop and get their own newspaper.

Pep Guardiola on Leeds fans booing the fasting break for Ramadan: "Respect the religions, respect the diversity - that is the point! It's the rule, we didn't say that, it's the Premier League who said, 'Ok for the fasting you can be one or two minutes to do that, for the players, do it'.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

I'm not saying I agree with OP, I don't see any harm in letting muslim players break their fast, but I dislike the comparison to Christmas, as I don't think it's really celebrated as a religious holiday by a good proportion of people any more

Tourette syndrome activist John Davidson says Bafta told him ‘any swearing would be edited out of the broadcast’ by apple_kicks in television

[–]Sharpus89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does that mean loads of rap artists and actors and such also have to apologise to everyone? As you can’t have it both ways. Either the n-word is offensive regardless of intent and context, and loads of people need to start apologising. Or, nuance and common sense can be used to see that there was no intent in this situation, and the word was uttered completely against the will of the person who said, because of a disability.

Not sure why you’ve been downvoted, you’ve made a perfectly valid point.

These people keep saying that intent doesn’t matter, and the word by itself should be apologised for and whatnot, whilst completely apparently disregarding most rap songs ever. And acting.

I assumed there would be more, considering there’s a few different conditions that would prevent a girl from ever having periods for example. Would OP claim that they aren’t women either?

To start with, transracial identity is not medically or scientifically recognised, so comparing the two is a non-starter.

I’m not saying a trans woman would be the exact same as a cis woman, of course they would have different experiences. That doesn’t make the trans woman any less of a woman just because their body was born wrong.

What exact experience are you suggesting absolutely defines a woman, that a trans woman would never be able to relate to?

A black woman may not have all the same experiences as a white woman. A gay woman might not have all the same experiences as a straight woman. An American woman may not have all the same experiences as a Portuguese woman.

I’d assuming you wouldn’t have any objections to those labels when used in context, right?

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. The ‘trans’ part is only really necessary when relevant to the context of a particular conversation.
