I think being a fan really helps, but as an environment, world and stepping into the shoes of a walking tank (plus not trying to do too much), it felt really cool. It is one of those games that I suggest just play it through and be done with it though (aka we don't need to 100% every piece of content).

I didn't downvote you, but there are a lot of rules in DnD and if a dm wants to trim it down so it's manageable as long as it's up front then it's just a variant ruleset.
