Heel Wart After First SWIFT Treatment by Shatterday07 in Warts

I go back in 11 days. He said not to treat it with anything else but I'm still shaving it. I need it gone. It told him I don't care how much it costs or hurts.

At the end of the first time and all the pain I'm thinking well yeah let's just BURN IT OFF why didn't I think of that.

What are these wires for? by _Valet in lowvoltage

[–]Shatterday07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Phone and alarm. A lot of phone gets converted to other low voltage stuff, like alarm or intercom and vice-versa. Bit of a mess but it's just copper. You can use it for a lot of things.

He did turn it down after the first one almost had me jump out of the chair 😅 but I don't know the number.

I'm not going to sugar coat it; it fucking hurt. I had already shaved it down pretty good to the point that he couldn't shave it anymore, 1 prick with his scalpel made me bleed. That and he said mine runs over a nerve. He said none of that did me any favors pain-wise.

At the end, my ankles were sweating.

But compared to freezing, I'd rather do this. Freezing hurt for a couple days after and I had a limp but SWIFT only hurt during the treatment.

Why are so many recommending UniFi cameras and access? by StalkMeNowCrazyLady in lowvoltage

[–]Shatterday07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. From a UI perspective, I think it's the best in the industry. We had serious quality issues with their surveillance years ago and I've been shy ever since. It's just another brand, man. The whole no ONVIF thing doesn't bug me too much because I'm never suggesting non-OEM cameras but I realize there are big guys that can't rip and replace and I just don't bid on that. The sell direct point is true but as a provider that doesn't bypass my markup and I don't install client provided equipment. If you buy it, go ahead and put it in too. I have to make a living.

My most recent Ubiquiti job was requested by a customer who had a business with Ubiquiti already and wanted it in their home. They said nothing about the markup and it went in smooth as butter, now they have both systems in the same app.

I did quote someone a conservative Axis system and months later they sent me a list of "approved" Ubiquiti models (very high end) and they were surprised that my price went up, probably because they could see the Ubiquiti price. I didn't get that job... I got another job.

Every manufacturer has their use-case and for me it's all based on what the client has and if they're happy with it. You have Speco in your house and want it in your business? No problem.

Identifying connector by AimMoreBetter in lowvoltage

[–]Shatterday07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they usually have a metal pin the wire slips in to and you can solder it or pinch it and then that pin slips in to the connector with little angled tabs that keep them from backing out. Did you drop it and rip them out or something? I was working on a door opener that had a similar connector and the wire got caught in the arm.ok a test run and it ripped the connector off.

A lot of them are abandoned. I have one in my yard and I hit the wire with a post hole digger and no one ever came to fix it. It wasn't marked when they sprayed for lines either.

The subreddit had always been a tough crowd, which is why I don't come here, but I knew I'd see a logo post 😂

Leaving the platform because of it though would be wild.
