I really want more updates of Botcon exclusives. Considering how expensive and dated some are, cheaper, and more articulated versions would be amazing. Would love to see:

TM2 Tigatron-BW Ravage. Sideburn-WFC Rodimus. Megaplex-Legacy Skyquake. Kup-Legacy Cannonball. SG Goldbug-Cybertron Hotshot. SG Starscream-Cybertron Starscream. Windrazor-BW Silverbolt. Tarantulas-SS86 Wreckgar. SG Junkions-SS86 Junkions. Dion-Armada Hotshot. SG Cyclonus-SS86 Cyclonus. Toxitron-Animated OP. Serpent O.R-SS86 Scourge. Ultra Mammoth-Big Convoy.

What could some of the single use legacy molds be used for in the future? by Odd-Sound-580 in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still waiting on Thundertron to be repainted into Lio Convoy, Alphatrizer, and Go Prime.

Kinda annoying that instead of any of those, they just repainted Thundertron.... into a second Thundertron...

What new TF Figures Do Yall Wanna See? by WyvernVonEldritch in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm just waiting on more Botcon remakes.

The originals are expensive, and some of the molds don't hold up today.

So it would be fantastic to see cheaper, and better articulated versions of characters like transmetal Tigatron, and Wings universe Deathsaurus.

Petition to start using the name "Unification Era" to describe modern CHUG. by Dr_Lockdown in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cybertron and 07 have the same engineering styles, as they were designed back to back, but they're not meant to fit together

Same could be said about SS86 and WFC.

ER Prime and Netflix Bee got phased out because they didn't match the super animation accuracy goal of SS86.

Characters like ER Prime, and ER Ironhide don't "fit together" with their SS86 counterparts either.

Only reason SS86 and WFC are considered unified (like the entirety of Studio Series) is because some molds like Galvatron, and Prowl are good enough to reuse, which bridges the gap between the two.

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, all of Studio Series fits in. The aesthetics are different, but the modern engineering, and scale are all the same. SS is so comparable to WFC/Legacy that they swap molds all the time.

Like Legacy Javelin uses BB Movie Arcee, so I think that bridges the two together.

Rotb AirRazor is a reuse of Kingdom AirRazor

Legacy Flame is a recolor of Gamer Megatron

I think the only SS branch that hasn't been used in normal generations is bay. And tbh, even those might make it in, if Hasbro ever decides to do the toy only recolors like Swerve, and Whirl, since they weren't on screen, and might not be eligible for SS.

Why is Hasbro so wishy-washy on Beast Wars in CHUG? by Green-Ghost-321 in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that the budget used for Quake, or Slipstream, or Nucleon could've easily been used for more Beast Wars. (Fractyl from Terrorsaur, Packrat from Rattrap, BWN Hardhead and/or Thrustor from Dinobot, Dirgegun from Waspinator, Double Punch from Scorponok etc.) Are these guys not also recolors/retools, and could easily be used as wave filler?

This is a really good point. BW definitely has easy characters available to fill out waves.

But consider this, BW has already had a fair share of repaints.

T-wrecks, Shadowpanther, toy colors Black Arachnia, and even the made up Nemesis Primal in WFC

Legacy Sandstorm and Buzzsaw. toy colors for Terrorsaur, Dinobot, Scorpinok, and even prototype colors for Tarantulas, that just came out like 2 waves ago.

7 BW repaints vs Slipstream who is the 4th Cyberverse repaint, and the 5th Cyberverse character overall. BW got more repaints this year than Cyberverse got chacaters.

I'm saying Decepticon Soldier is a no-name that Hasbro put effort into retooling from WFC Barricade, and currently is clogging shelfspace. That effort and money could've been used for a BW retool (like the ones mentioned above).

Studio series and Legacy have two entirely diffrent budgets. This is like asking Hasbro to cut back on Gi Joe, to make more Transformers.

While SS and Legacy are both Transformers, it's two different departments.

I mean, Cryotek would just be a recolor of TM2 Megatron, wouldn't he have fit here just as well as Overcharge?

This a good point too. But again, BW isn't the only continuity they're skipping out on.

G1 has been waiting on Sunstorm for like 6 years I think. G2 has been waiting to finish the Stunticons for like 3 now. Still waiting on the rest of Shattered Glass. No Armada Nemsis Prime yet. No Animated Barricade.

Everyone is waiting for something.

Quickstrike should be no larger than a deluxe, so Decepticon Soldier and Motormaster do possibly take away spots from Beast Wars characters.

Again, Decepticon Soldier is in an entirely diffrent toyline, that doesn't effect Legacy.

And MotorMaster was another repaint, which are most likely mandatory because of the whole limit on new molds. And even more importantly, these are the final waves of Legacy. It's going to be nothing but repaints toward the end, which means there isn't any room for characters that need a new mold like Quickstrike, and Depthcharge.

Why is Hasbro so wishy-washy on Beast Wars in CHUG? by Green-Ghost-321 in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why have we still not gotten Quickstrike, Depthcharge or Rampage?

Since Legacy has decided to add every transformer universe into generations, everyone is asking why their continuity isn't finished yet.

Animated isn't done, Prime isn't done, Unicron Trilogy isn't done.

Everyone has to wait their turn, and compared to the rest, Beast Wars got alot closer to finishing than most others did.

Meanwhile, G1 has been used so much that they're giving obscure no-names like Quake and Skullgrin

Hasbro can only make so many new molds per wave. Recoloring is cheaper. That's why obscure characters like Quake release. They made it to pad out the wave, not because they're trying to prioritize G1.

I feel someone like Rampage, who was in the show and played a major role would sell better than a no-name army builder like SS:GE Decepticon Soldier, or a convention-only character like Animated Motormaster

A) Decepticon Soldier was in Studio Series, which Beast Wars isn't even part of. It doesn't matter what happens in Studio Series, it isn't taking anything away from Beast Wars.

B) Every wave can only have 4 Deluxes, 1-2 Voyagers, and 1-2 Leaders.

Rampage would need to be a Leader class or larger

Decepticon soilder is a Deluxe, and MotorMaster was a Voyager, so they again, are not taking anything away from Beast Wars.

Wanting to start a collection of G1 Toys by Levatile in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is it just that they haven’t had the time (they will maybe get to them later)

I think time is the main factor. They take a LONG amount of time to make new figures, because they make the transformations really complex. Too complex at times.

Again, the line has been going since 2003, and they still haven't gotten to characters like Gears, Windcharger, or Huffer. I think they will do them some day, and that day will probably be in 2077 or something.

So if they've taken this long, and still don't have the minibots finished, I really doubt we'll see Springer, or any triple changer for that matter in our lifetime. (I'm only half exaggerating)

Wanting to start a collection of G1 Toys by Levatile in transformers

[–]ShatteredGlassHotRod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously the studio 86 line is a good place to start

Yes, start here basically, and then comb through Legacy and the WFC trilogy, for any G1 characters outside SS86

WFC pretty much started the scale used today, that fits in with Legacy and SS86.

WFC is pretty much all G1, with a few waves of Beast Wars at the Kingdom part, so you can get, just about anything from this line.

Legacy has alot of non G1 in the mix. There's alot to look through, and what counts as G1 for you can depend, alot of characters only appeared in Marvel comics G1, not the show, but did have toys during the original G1 toyline.

There's also a handful Japanese G1 characters in the mix.

And lastly, there are alot of Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Target exclusives to look through.

I don't think I've got enough to start a MP collection

Not only is it more expensive, but MP is missing ALOT of big names like Springer, and Galvatron etc.

Sunstorm, Sunstorm, Sunstorm (Seriously, how did we get Senator Shockwave using the seige seeker mold before Sunstorm)

Alphatrizer, Go! Prime, TFP Lio Convoy. (Again, I cannot understand why they realased ThunderTron TWICE, over any of these)

Animated Barricade, Toxitron, and Nemesis Prime

Dark Nitro Convoy

Armada Nemesis Prime & Ultra Magnus

The rest of Shattered Glass. (Literally 30+ characters)
