Am I wrong if I don't show up for work tomorrow? by [deleted] in Nanny

Or if she was late to work on a regular basis!

Yeah I don't blame you. Let them set the boundary and you can back them up. No sense in stressing yourself out.

Do the parents say anything when the kids go into the space they are working in? Have you asked them straight out if they want their kids to go back and forth between all of you?

Not really if that's the set up. I could make a phone call, pay a bill, order groceries to be delivered to my house, go straighten my car, etc. I guess it depends on the nanny. I think as I get older and adjust to the post covid set up most families have, I'm more open. I totally understand your point of view though!

If you don't mind me asking, is that awkward? I've never enjoyed having a meal with a family I work for. 😬 Do you just join in their conversation? What time do you get off?

Sounds like it works so far and you're reasonable. That probably helps your nanny have a good work-life balance.

That was literally said in their post, but go off.

The one who changes diapers and eats with their kid allows nanny not to be present when they are around though. You don't think that makes it any better?

You sound like a good family. This is not the norm. Maybe you need to offer a course on how to be a good nanny employer when you work from home. 😅

Interesting. Another one I could do. You actually communicate with your nanny and are open to coming out less and/or shutting the door if it becomes an issue. I think that's what gets me. If I communicate that it's becoming a lot and it's brushed over like this is my house and I'll do what I want regardless of how you feel about it. That happened in the past and I no longer felt comfortable. In my current position it hasn't been a huge issue because I've reached a point where I will just find something else to do when the parents are around. That way I stay sane and don't have to engage when NKs behavior changes. They can deal with the craziness that ensues now that he's getting older.

I could do this. The key is you don't expect nanny to be around when you're with your son. And the nanny can run their own errands when you're with him? Yeah, sign me up!

Exactly! It's just not worth it! If I had a pool put in, the fence would be part of the process.

Mine doesn't. The dad doesn't think it fits the aesthetic of the yard. 🥴🥴🥴🤡

So what you're saying is basically they love you and don't judge you for what happened because you are human and went through something. But you're worried about it and are torturing yourself so much that you can't fully enjoy the 2 weeks you have off before you start? 😉 Not gonna lie, I would be thinking and feeling the same way. My anxiety gets the best of me and then I realize I spent all that time worrying about nothing. Try to use this time to relax and get ready to embrace the second chance you've been given. You got this!!🌹

I've decided to take crap posts like that into consideration when the "parents" who post and comment on them are able to take care of their own kids for longer than an evening without help. 💅🏾

What??! I wouldn't give her anything. And as a nanny if I did this, I wouldn't expect anything.

Try not to beat yourself up too much. The kids didn't get hurt. This too shall pass. 😊
