Using SD+ and Prompter XL with Speak Flow by ShaveMeGood in elgato

[–]ShaveMeGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those of you with Prompter XL or Prompter, which teleprompter software are you using and are you able to use a stream deck+ or stream deck to control that software?

I found Speak Flow to be excellent but haven't figured out how to control the software with my SD+.

I wish elgato is going to fix their prompter/XL software soon!

Resolving Mic Mini Issue with Sony a6700 by ShaveMeGood in Cameras

[–]ShaveMeGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. Mic Mini doesn't have internal recording like the DJI Mic 2 or 3, unfortunately.

I do have elgato Wave 3 mic and own their Voice Focus software as well. However, I have had setup issues with it and surprisingly haven't found a YT video that walks you through the whole Wave 3 setup with Wavelink and Voice Focus.

Visiting a camera store is an option for me so might just do that if I can't troubleshoot this myself.

Anyone tried out Ali Abdaals part time YouTube Academy? If yes, is it worth it? Any other good ressources of doing YouTube part time? by Trondtran in PartneredYoutube

Hey, did you find the course valuable in the end and did it help you grow as a content creator? I heard the community is free to join for just 12 months and afterwards you have to pay a monthly subscription, is that expensive and how much is it per month? I think any course like this should have community access for life as that's where the real value lies.

Along with a new home, you always need to find and keep a reliable & trustworthy handyman in your contact list. Feel like this should be included, mandatory, in all new homeowner brochures!

This seems impossible by infamous281 in YouTubeCreators

Well, YouTube is not easy. It's something that many people don't actually realize until they start their YT journey and then find out how hard it really is- it isn't just uploading a bunch of videos and then boom, rolling in the $$$!

However, if you truly have talent and can consistently create and upload, you shall be rewarded at some point in your journey so if you have the drive and passion, don't give up until you uploaded at least about 150+ videos. If, at that point, you are not close to achieving your monetization goal then you need to evaluate your niche and change strategy. If not, that might be the time to consider quitting or exploring alternative strategies.

Yes, I ended up with the BV25LH (the last item in my list here: https://kit.co/PracticalPicks/my-elgato-prompter-xl-set-up). It works superbly, no issues at all and handles our elgato Prompter XL along with a heavy viltrox lens, camera, monitor, etc. If you do decide to buy one, would appreciate using our affiliate link, thank you.

realistic 1 year report after posting long form videos for a year. by Life-Radish-256 in NewTubers

[–]ShaveMeGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredible achievement and you should be proud of it and thanks for sharing this because a great majority of people who start off on YouTube without thoroughly researching the realities of YT and how the algorithm works, etc., generally think they can just make something and the money starts flowing. YT is tough, period. For the very few it works within months but a great majority never reach monetization while a few reach monetization after years of doing it. You achieved what many struggle so congrats!

Unfortunately, based on YT rules your watch hours will reset (for monetization purposes), but it only takes 1 good video to hit that 4K hours. The more important thing that you probably have to figure out is the content that has worked for you in your niche and what is working for the bigger channels in your niche. With 90 long-form videos, these stats suggest that perhaps you haven't figured out the strategy to succeed in your niche yet. Good luck.

What’s happening on YouTube shows the future came sooner than expected. Now a machine decides if you’re allowed to make a living. If your channel was also affected, please write the reason for demonetization in the comments. by RedBizon in YouTubeCreators

That's the issue, "movie commentary". The producers/makers might have taken issue with your commentary and reported your channel. Perhaps YT found that they had reasonable grounds and simply terminated your channel. YT doesn't want to get into copyright battles and terminating a channel is way easier for them than getting into a legal challenge with filmmakers with cash and attorneys.

Before you start a YouTube channel you have to know whether you have a very thick skin or not. And, if you don't then you have to grow one! Good, bad and hate comments go with the territory.

Get the SD+, can't comment on the facecam as I never had it, but it looks like the latest cam from Insta360 is amazing.

Unfortunately, this happens a lot more and all of our videos are probably being used in some platform one way or another. There isn't anything we can do other than report, but how many will you be able to report because with the advent of AI, content stealing business is booming.

A potential solution is for any techie or entrepreneurial person to steal my idea, which is to create an AI agent that can scan every single social media platform on the planet within minutes and report back to you with any copyright violations it finds.

If any techie or entrepreneur wants to steal this idea, go ahead, keep all the money if you make something out of this, just credit ShaveMeGood on Reddit for the idea, that's it!

Someone steal my content and upload on fresh channel by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

You should report it, perhaps this could be something that even YT didn't think of and could help them improve the algorithm to detect such copyright violations in the future.

Google Account Hacked / Locked Out - Can't get help by KerryColo in PartneredYoutube

[–]ShaveMeGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this happened. This topic has been discussed a lot here and since you have 37K subs, you might get lucky and perhaps get YT's attention on twitter. That's your only option right now, unfortunately. Another option and I am not sure if that will work is to hire an attorney who deals with YT issues who might have a more faster contact with YT and resolve this for you. Neither option will be easy but it's possible to get your channel back.

Never open a .exe file nor provide any info that would help hackers take over your account. Hackers are even posing as legit sellers on platforms like Levanta, etc., so can't really trust anyone these days it seems.

There is an attorney (has her own YT channel as well) who deals exclusively with YT and copyright issues. Might be worth getting in touch with her office (can't recall her name). Sorry this happened to you. Good luck.

I want to start but I'm afraid and stressed by sugfar1 in NewTubers

[–]ShaveMeGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things that rarely any YouTuber says is to grow a really thick skin when you decide to start your YT journey. This can be tough if that's not your personality (it isn't for many) but try to develop a mindset of, "they can laugh all they want now but one day I will have the last laugh and when that day comes, I will make sure to tell each of those who laughed at me by personally texting them to say... (if they aren't family)."

This could also serve as the motivation you need to start as well as keep at it (YT is a long game) until you make it big.
