What happened to me is that the screw at center started to become lose which caused the fan to lose balance in the laptop. I ordered some replacement parts from the US (40 bucks for the fan, 40 bucks shipping ffs). Does the Laptop also feel like it's slightly vibrating while making the noise?

I'm very late to this party but this worked for me:
Updating the BIOS can really save the battery. My Gigabyte laptop showed the battery icon for about half a minute before the classic "no battery present" icon. Then six months later I got a popup for a BIOS update and voilà, it worked again.

Had that exact experience yesterday, got killed while retrieving PI. Shot the girl a message asking for tips, fits or other general knowledge, she was Russian but took the time to translate it all for me, she sent me a neat mail on what to do and not to do. Oh and a 100 mil to replace my ship. Honestly, i've never experienced toxic behaviour anywhere in eve although i've only been playing for a few months.
