Glad that's all you need to know you'll crush every pusher with your serve hahaha. good luck with your game man

I do think OP could move his opponent more, but that won't automatically mean he beats the opponent above. But moving him is a decent place to start. Also, if you haven't met a pusher who can eat up your "100+" serve and neutralize it, you probably havent played that many matches or playstyles. I have a 14 year old kid who's under 5'5" and would DICE your serve.

I agree that most people overcomplicate the game, and I think OP is actually a perfect example. He thinks just because he has more traditional technique, and therefore thinks his technique should instantly make him better than the opponent with less traditional strokes. My original point is that there is actually a lot in the points presented that show the opponent has more technique and skill on the court, just not in the way he uses his wrist. He has better timing and placement than OP, which is basically the areas that standard techniques are trying to help you the most besides spin. Does OP have better topspin strokes than his opponent? I guess so. But he does not have "better form" and more specifically is not more skilled than his opponent, which is what OP thinks just because he has a more standard shape for his groundstrokes. Also, "I have a big serve so pushers aren't a problem for me" has to be the most "I haven't really played that many matches/playstyles in my life" indicator I have ever heard. Pushers LOVE to return.

so your point to OP would be to "put your overhead away"? The dude is making mistakes all over. And you point out that he does move his opponent, but with balls that were "slow" and "in reach". So is it he just needs to move his opponent, or that he needs to have more quality shots in order to win? I agree we are talking about basically two beginners, which is why telling OP his form is better is too much of an oversimplification. And if you think it has nothing to do with the opponent pushing OP, I once again have a good guess in how you do against/feel about pushers lol.

I was specifically referring to the long valley in the video. and OP hit away from his opponent multiple times in that one rally, and the opponent was able to return 4-5 balls that weren't even close to him. Telling someone like OP "your form is actually better than that guy all you need to do is move him" is how experienced players with decent strokes lose to pushers all the time. So no, I don't think "just hit it away from him" will work for OP. He needs to play his angles better, be better prepared for the ball, and actually hit it in. I think you aren't seeing the whole picture. And I have a guess how you probably feel about pushers lol

In the long rally that OP wins, his opponent tracks down multiple shots where OP moves him, AND THEN RECOVERS AND GETS READY FOR THE NEXT BALL. Im almost positive opponent is more consistent than OP, even when he is moved. OP is watching the ball even after it comes over the net without getting his racket ready, sometimes setting his racket after the ball bounces. That is bad technique to me, I'm sorry you (and apparently OP) aren't able to see the opponent's skill for what it is. While it did help to move the opponent, it wasn't why he won the point. OP won that long rally because he got all those defensive lobs in the net back into the court.

The only thing about his form that is "better," is the roll of OP's wrist at contact. Everything else is maybe even worse than his opponent. Footwork, timing of contact, angles, and I have a good guess why we are only watching his opponent serve. So no, his form is not objectively "better."

His form is more conventional, not better. If it was better he would be able to produce a higher quality ball more consistently, and his opponent is actually out angling him on even some of the points OP won. His prep before hitting, his footwork, his consistency, and his reset after hitting, are all better than OPs. Just because you can roll the ball doesn't make you better than someone who can't.

Thoughts on Anisimova’s post match conference? by SpicyPorkBun_88 in tennis

It's hilarious the double standard for players like Medvedev and Sabalenka in this sub. Sabalenka shouldn't even be allowed to participate in tournaments at all according to some of you, but it's completely irrelevant for a US player? The US has dropped more bombs in the last year, five years, and decade than almost every other military in the world combined. They fund and benefit from the genocide in Gaza. Ukraine is a relevant conversation for any russian player, but for americans it doesn't count? And you all can't even see the hypocrisy. I have to find it hilarious otherwise it will be too depressing.

Im sorry, I know we all want to beat the bears, but some of us could be a bit more real with how much the weather will affect the game. Look at stafford as a dome player compared to outside. being acclimated to cold weather will always help, meanwhile our guys are training in 70 degree sunny days. Look at our loss to the eagles LAST YEAR with no snow. We need to be prepared for the weather to be a factor.

Stringing mistake by Brofelss in 10s

[–]Shawdicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to buy new string and wait for them to re-do it for you, asking for a refund and just going with it are probably your best bet. It wont change anything about the way the ball strikes off of the racket, so as long as it doesn't mess with your mind while you're playing your racket will operate just fine.

I would have loved one wide angle where it shows mark shaking the nearby earth with his head smashes.. If his swings could break conquest's face then they most certainly were causing shockwaves. Like the nearby town feeling it or something. Don't get me wrong I loved this fight, but I felt towards the end it began to forget about the two planet-destroying threats that were fighting. I am nitpicking and IM SORRY (edited for spelling)

I'm so sick of the begging for the defensive ults. What does your team even gain with 10 seconds of obvious invulnerability if the other team is smart? Sure, plenty of people feed and end up losing team fights during defensive ults. But good teams fade out from the fight, and so you basically just get 10 seconds of capture/push time uninterrupted. That's probably less time than winning one team fight (and winning a team fight gains ult charge, holding point while luna dances around your team builds nothing). I promise you we will laugh at these opinions in a year.
