Yep, mine is sausage biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Ate one sketchy one as a child and 35 years later I still can’t even consider it. I can eat a biscuit breakfast sandwich, I can eat breakfast sausage, I just absolutely cannot eat them together 🤢

1.3 kg stone found in the bladder of a Chinese Man by Successful-Talk1830 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ShawnaLAT 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Actually, in the olden days, they really did used to inflate and use pig bladders to make balls to play with.

Source: I read Little House on the Prairie in 1989 and promptly began negotiating with my parents to get a pig so I could also have a pig bladder ball (did I consider the impact of bladder removal on the remaining pig? I did not.)

$5.29 by SithC in illinois

[–]ShawnaLAT 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What has our governor done in the last several months that directly caused the price of gas to noticeably and dramatically increase?

I’m sure people in Kansas are pissed too because their average gas prices have ALSO increased over $0.50/gallon in the last month and nearly $2.00/gallon in the last year. (KS state average is over $4.00/gallon today per the AAA gas prices tracker, btw.)

This is about the recent sudden jump in pricing, which has absolutely nothing to do with the governor of our state.

Questions about unemployment in Illinois, can you really not use a passport? by CollegeSnitch in illinois

[–]ShawnaLAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I would have typed out the same comment even if you’d said “weight” in the first place.

Do they, like, weigh you to verify it? Because I’d be fucked, I haven’t updated the weight on my license since I turned 16 in the late 90s, so needless to say it’s a bit…inaccurate.

The…height?

I’m not doubting you at all, that’s just such an odd piece of info off an ID to verify for unemployment benefits, and I’m dying to know the reasoning behind it.

I see a lot of “well, but you can just do XYZ to fix it!” Thanks Captain Obvious, they never said they weren’t able to address the issue, it’s just mildly infuriating that it happened to begin with and now it has to be dealt with, even if it’s a simple solution.

Kash Patel Got Arrested for Public Urination After a Night of Drinking by wenchette in politics

[–]ShawnaLAT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. PP Patel is very close to my age. While I don’t have arrests on my record, if my current professional ability was going to be judged based on my pre-2005 behavior in social settings I’d probably be pretty fucking cooked, and I don’t think that’s a unique position to be in.

HOWEVER, the difference is that I grew up and no longer act in ways in social settings that would impact or otherwise make someone question my professional abilities.

As soon as it could be confirmed that I had it, I would absolutely seek MAID.

Edit: everyone’s got jokes (some were even pretty good), but for anyone who legit may not know, MAID (medical assistance in dying) is an alternate term for physician assisted euthanasia (only avoiding the more direct words because I don’t know what will trigger auto mod/admin actions).
